For Harriet she got an hour on CNN because Time Warner, who gave her $127,000 and owns the channel, has an interest in her victory. Check the poll CNN themselves did in mid-December, and you’ll see that, until they began putting her on top of their own lists of presidential primary front runners, Democrats did not prefer her. They’ve been acting like she had all this support and, eventually, viewers thought to themselves “oh I guess if everyone else wants her I will too!” 1000 thanks for this video, though. We need as many people as possible on the left pointing out her history as a brutal prosecutor, who wielded our racist criminal justice system to jail POC, mothers of truants, sex workers, etc.

I had quite a few gripes with this video. - She isn't getting a townhall on CNN because she is popular with people; she is there because CNN the corporation supports her. - Being able to raise lots of campaig funds from large corporations isn't impressive its alarming (companies don't give away their money for free) - Her record over the past couple of years doesn't show her to be a genuine progressive, just a shrewd politician who will likely water down these policies if she gets into office. - Although I am a black woman I believe the importance of the racial and gender identity of candidates is being overemphasised. It is important to see more diverse representation in politics but I think the impact of your policies on black communities is far more important than whether you are black or not. And we have seen from multiple examples that not all Black people are for Black people and when you widen that umbrella to included other people of colour it is even more clear.

I feel that it is important to always inspect the person that you are voting for. You know it is one thing to vote against somebody but you have to also vote for somebody and that's one thing I really remember about the 2016 election. It seemed that for a healthy percentage of the electorate it wasn't about who they were voting for it was more about who they were voting against and the ideals that that person personified. But I think you blindly voting for someone who is anti Trump or just anti anyone is wrong. You aren't doing your due diligence, you then fail to vet a person who could become president and that is dangerous then you are just giving someone a clean sweep because they're not this that makes them the best. Granted yes it's good that they're not this but we still have to find out what they actually are for their positions on x y and z. You see what I'm saying. And I feel that that's a difference between you know Democrats and Republicans. Honestly for a lot of Republican it at surface-level I will say it seems like they buy into their candidates. They are fine with any old white dude but I get for Democrats it's different there has to be a reason why not just being against.

Republicans are more abhorrent today than they have ever been. I feel the tide is turning with the surge in true progressive candidates who do not take corporate PAC money. We are starting to understand that we do not have to accept less than we deserve. Health care should be a right. Climate change needs to be dealt with now. If only AOC were old enough to run for President, she'd be a shoe-in in my book. Until then, I have to say Bernie or bust. He has the most consistent record of fighting for the people. I'm not really seeing the kind of ground swell for Harris that would justify calling her the front-runner yet. Polling still has her behind the high name recognition folks like Sanders & Biden (neither announced but likely to), though you can ague that she has passed Warren and has more upward potential as name recognition grows. What I do see is a strong MSM embrace of her that lasted for more then a year, even arguably starting before she even came to the senate. One gets the sense that Harris is the kind of candidate that the 'establishment' wants the party to fall in line behind, but as the saying goes Democrats want to fall in love, not in line.

She shouldn’t be anyone’s democratic frontrunner....... Bernie or Warner. I’m so tired of centrists, she is going to be another Obama. A pretty face, that speaks and says the right thing, but is a “moderate republican” in every facet of their policy. Her record does matter and it sucks, consistency is key. Just because when she became a senator she became “progressive” is not enough. I don’t believe anything that comes out of her mouth, especially since the mainstream media loves her so much. That is a huge sign that something is wrong. Because anyone that is implementing any REAL change, bad or good is not liked by the media. And they are supporting her too much, something is off and I hope we can open our eyes and see that.

Over the last two weeks I’ve done my research on her as well as, tried to get a pulse on what black America thinks of her. I don’t care about her sleeping her way to the top! Doesn’t bother me one bit. Her track record as it relates to black males in the court systems is not good and I’ll leave it at that, by now everyone knows what it is. Her husband? Yes black males are going to have an issue with that! It’s a double standard fact! 🤷🏿♂️ she may be the front runner, she may even get the nominee, but what she won’t get, is the black males vote! We just ain’t feeling it! 😳🤷🏿♂️I don’t feel as though she’s strong enough for Trump! As a matter of fact, no one in the Democratic Party is strong enough to beat Trump! That’s just plain fact! Maybe Biden! And remember Trump won without the black vote!

I disagree. Harris isnt my go to candidate. As an AA woman I see my ppl taking the bait. Glad you went beyond her new progressive stance & dug into her career as a prosecutor... she hasn't always aligned with my beliefs. Remix..... I made my initial comment before reading the comments & I must say I'm glad to see many ppl aren't falling for the koolaid. I'm not saying don't vote but please do your research before selecting a candidate (vote 2020), like many, II took the Hillary bait & didn't even consider Bernie. I will implore ppl to check Warren's record she's helped people out more than they know, she may never have the appeal but she's been about the ppl as long as I could remember writing about the corrupt financial system, housing, pay day loans etc. Ill get off my high horse but I will definitely be vetting all the candidates not just looking at the pretty faces & how articulate the candidate is in front of the camera.

@@aleahwilson8772 Even though you did not ask me for an explanation of why a black woman would vote for Trump, I will just say I've answered that question many, many times and each time I came up with a long list of things that showed how in 2 years Trump did more things for blacks in 2 years than Obama did in 8 years. The list is rather long so I will not do it at this time, but I will say, if all that you are listening to is CNN and MSNBC, you will never know because they never talk about the many wonder things Trump has done because it goes against their narrative that Trump is a racist. As an old white man, I love everything you have to say here! Harris has obviously been anointed by the powers that be, who really, really want her to be the Dem candidate, and is being offered free air time, town halls, etc. I would much prefer a more progressive candidate, and I believe most people who think about it agree. Unfortunately too many people don't think about it.

Great video Kim. Thanks for taking the time and effort to make it. Harris has, indeed, concentrated her career more on winning than on justice. I wouldn't accept it in a white man either, but there is NO WAY a WOC gets where she has gotten any other way. No doubt, Harris is not as ideologically pure as Warren. However, I believe she is (and has been since she took national office) riding the progressive zeitgeist of 2019 and she is the most compelling politician on the left today. We will only win if we find a compelling politician who can play to the cameras and our 24 hour "news" cycle. Harris can do this as well as trump. I'm all in. "It would be something to have a woman of color in the oval office...what sweet revenge it would be"-- Kimberly Taylor 2/1/19. "I'm black and beautiful"--Kamala Harris 2/1/19.

I'm not a fan of anyone going on the healthcare for all platform without discussing why it's sooo expensive, to begin with. Obama admin were hopefuls in the beginning, and then they realized who pulls the string on the high cost that Americans pay for supplies, procedures, medication, medical equipment, etc. The cost of these is up & ridiculous due to big corporations who are unregulated and when politicians try...they face the wrath of their lobbyists. That's where the real discussion needs to happen.

Its so funny how we judge women so harshly vs how we do men...u touched on that Kim an i appreciate it. Lets be realistic...she was a prosecutor n that was her job!!! As a black woman that has shared spaces with majority white ppl u understand we have to swerve. Sometimes we have to bend a little to advance in our careers. Sad that old man came out and rained on her parade like that. I wish black men would fight for us...if not KH...then Stacey Abrams. Say something...fight like we fight for u

So having to swerve means being ok with innocent people staying in prison, being hesitant to fire a lab technician who was proven to have tainted evidence, not wanting non violent offenders to be released solely because the prison industrial complex would lose "good labor",the truancy stuff, being against legal marijuana and not punishing Steve Mnuchin for illegal foreclosures. As a black dude and a democrat I wouldn't advise a soul to vote for Sen.Harris.That woman has done some evil things that I feel she can't be politically forgiven for.
