Although this is true, the long term reliability factor was more a priority with Hyundai's engineers who designed this advanced Lambda II engine than simply extracting the absolute maximum performance out of it. This is not a race car, it's a daily driver but performing GT. Mod it at your own risks and remember that it's a Hyundai Twin-Turbocharged V6, not an indestructible Chevy small block V8. That being said, I love my Kia Stinger GT Limited.

What is also nice is whatever you don't like about the handling you can easily fix with some aftermarket parts. Some heavier sway bars totally fix the rear end sliding around while turning and hitting bumps. There are like 10 aftermarket exhausts available now with a range of different sounds. You can get down pipes that add the pops/crackles. Aftermarket intake lets you hear the turbo's spool up and the diverter valves are nice and loud with these. Not to mention with a tune people are hitting 400+ WHP. 0-60 in 4 seconds is easily achievable.

Just drove this in the UK. What a car. Comfy, specced to a level I couldn't even dream of paying BMW or Audi for. The vented seats are amazing. What I really liked was the head-up display. Being in such a speed camera filled country I found it really useful not having to look down to speed check all the frick'n time. But all this cools stuff would mean nothing if the car didn't have the looks. But this does. It looks brilliant from front to the long way to the back. I thought I might want this car. Now, it's a no-brainer.

I own this same Stinger in 2019 exterior and interior GT2 AWD for two weeks as of weeks today. Let’s not get so nit picky about this car. If this car had four rings or BMW badge it would start in the 70’s and god forgive you leather seats. Track?! This isn’t tuned for a track. The Audi A5 isn’t tuned for a track either, not is a BMW 540i. This car is fast, period. Reviewers always talk about tracks, canyon carving, and fast cornering etc..blah,blah, blah. No owner needs to make excuses for owning one. This car gets looks from everyone when I drive it or park. It’s fun to drive on a daily basis.
@khronin4 жыл бұрын
Very few daily drivers are meant for the track.Eeven 100k plus AMG and M cars go into limp mode after several laps and anything more then 2 hours andyour tires and brake pads are shot--unless you just cruise around the track.There are track packages for less then 1000 dollars that give you some class and give you a few hours behind the wheel of a tuned down stock/race car.BTW tires alone will cost you 700 to 1000 dollars after you ruin them on the track.I would take my stinger only to something like a silver state classic--not a track.BTW KIAS brake rotors are not brembos and you could risk warping those.Better off to rent a car--because you will do hundreds to thousand dollars worth of wear and tear to your car at a track--even cars that are designed for it still chew up tires.
@khronin4 жыл бұрын
BTW many tire manufacturers give the tires to these track packages and even if not--they get them for wholesale--so because the track cars are built--they still make money because unless you wreck--all they are out on a real track car is a set of tires--which at wholesale--I believe when I did mine 10 years ago--Pirelli P Zeros were only costing the track 50 a piece--those tires were 300 dollars a piece in a store.You need a minimum of 10k put into a car to make it track worthy--coolers--tran and turbo--high end brakes and rotors--stripping all the weight.

My last 2 cars were an Audi S5, BMW 435i GC, and my current car, the Stinger GT. The Stinger is like a perfectly melded version of both the S5 and 435i. It has a heavy, substantial feel like the Audi. It has a playfulness like the 435i. It has more body roll than either, but it isn't sloppy and its ride quality is superior to both. Interior quality doesn't compare, though the paint quality is the same as the Audi, but not as good as the BMW. For the price, the Stinger GT is a great bargain starting at $40K for all those hp and that torque. Unlike the GT1 and GT2 (I believe both), the GT doesn't come with the LSD, which is a bit troublesome hitting the throttle in a turn. Also, for the GT's price, it still comes with a good deal of amenities that I wouldn't expect, considering the power and suspension you're already getting for the money.

Kia has a nice car in the Stinger, especially at this price point. However, what is missing is an engaging engine sound. I own a 2017 Chevrolet SS with manual 6-speed transmission, and that 6.2 liter LS3 V8 is just a joy to listen to. I am totally entertained just tooling around and listening to my engine. Don't get that at all with the Kia.

Cut, I don't own a Camaro. The Chevrolet SS is a four-door sedan - it is the Holden Commodore made in Australia and sold as an SS in the U.S. 2017 was the last model year made. However, the same LS3 engine has been used in the Camaro. Very strong engine, built to last and sounds wonderful.

Coming out of a MK7 GTI, I leased a Ceramic Silver Stinger GT1 AWD (same color) for about a week before the dealer took it back over horrible paint damage they inflicted. I was so turned off by the TERRIBLE dealer experience that I jumped ship and ended up in a Giulia Ti Sport for about the same money. I'm happier where I landed, but the Stinger was still a cool, SUPER PRACTICAL car. It turned more heads than my Giulia all day, and the straight line speed and parade float looks were a riot. After my week with it, I started noticing how the handling felt really heavy and pretty sloppy as you neared the limit. The high speed stability was also not up to par for a car with that much power, the adjustable suspension made zero perceptible difference, the gas mileage was abysmal, the touch screen was obnoxiously hard to reach, and the center arm rest felt like it was made of cardboard. I think most of the glowing reviews are of the GT2 with the summer tires, LSD, and top-trim seats, which don't apply on the lower trims.

just got a 2018 fully loaded gt for 35k. Loving it so far, but will definitely do some minor suspension mods to fix the bunny hop thing and dial out some of the understeer. Will better sway bars fix this? I've been reading up on Eibach front and read.

I just changed my front tires on my GT2 to 235/40 Pilot Sport 4 S. It helped a lot with understeer and gave me a more confident feel. I don’t have any suspension mods.

Wow the way you guys talk about this car makes it sound like its a 14 second car. This is a sub 5 second car that does the quarter mile in the high 12s straight from the factory. Its an incredibly fast car guys comeon!

@VaunShiz6 жыл бұрын
It's not that fast especially for a 50k twinturbo v6
@blackice2146 жыл бұрын
@@VaunShiz my slightly tuned 2018 A5 does it in 4.8 sec lol
@TheStigHCE096 жыл бұрын
0-60mph in 4.8sec with all-wheel-drive? That's nothing to brag about buddy. These get from 0-62mph in 4.8sec with RWD.
@blackice2146 жыл бұрын
Its a fucking A5 lmaoo, not an S5 just stating the fact that it does it within the same time frame as an inline 4 single turbo setup not even boosted all the way. You buy a stinger for the "Speed" theres plenty of sedans out there that are good looking. He said its "an incredibly fast car" which is not for a twinturbo v6

Pretty disappointed to hear theyre having paint issues on brand new cars. My bmw that is 11yrs old has flawless paint
@cindysue54746 жыл бұрын
Look at what happened to GM/ Chevy vehicles in the 90s the white paint was falling off them because of bad primer.
@smgs9216 жыл бұрын
Cindy Sue yeah the difference is chevy never designed a car with the intention to compete against the german luxury brands. Which is exactly the market kia is trying to penetrate. Just shows what ive always thought about kia/hyundai. They dress their cars up to look nice but they cut corners to try and save a dollar.
