The KLM 787 is the only one we get flying in and out of SLC regularly. Every once in a while I can spot it on approach from my brothers house in West Jordan, just south of Salt Lake International.

Nice to see the food on your flight. I used to work for SLC Skychefs who catered your flight. My job was to order the food. All the food Was delivered by Michael Lewis Company out of Phoenix. I no longer work at Skychefs, but it made me remember the orders I had to Place to bring the food in. Here was me,of Dutch descent ordering food for the national airline of my parents homeland.

LOL love the note to self about not breathing into the microphone, I do like that map in screen shot, that's really nice, something I Would really use. Food looked pretty good for the dinner, breakfast also looked really good, but you are right on that galley being right next to someone is a really strange setup, must be a real space saver. Thank you for the video. I have never had to sit next to someone saying goodbye to their breakfast, though I also relate to the woman in front of you! That is the general fate of steerage passengers like me! Though my next trip (still unconfirmed, but hopefully not much more than two years away) may benefit from a points upgrade. We will see! I just flew on a KLM 787-900 from SFO to AMS (not my intent to actually fly with them) and will say the flight crew was friendly and polite. The dinner and the breakfast were the same as shown. I had the chicken option and was ok. The breakfast was good. I was also amazed that it took about 9,5 hours to travel that length

I recently tried KLM economy as well on a YYZ-AMS leg, i had the exact same food as you and exact same opinion about that chicken and rice. It tasted like cinnamon or something similar. Very odd. Also lucky you for getting a warm meal for breakfast, all i got was a box with a muffin and some juice and a yoghurt i think, which was nice, but that warm meal looked great! All in all a very good trip report! Enjoyable and professional as always.

What a great flight report! Having the lounge access even before an economy flight is always a nice to have :) The flight looked quite ok. Nothing special I guess, it´s a bit pitty if the food wasn´t that good. Already waiting for your next report in C-Class with KLM :)

It's gone now (October 2018), but there's a small blue (KLM) plane either landing or taking off of 06. There's a Singapore Airlines Cargo 747 on an adjacent taxiway and a KLM 747 on the taxiway to 36L/18R.

Stupid complaint ! KLM will do a drinkservice ,hotmail ,coffee tea afterdiner drinks And then depending on the length of the flight u have a hot breakfast before landing or a breakfast box on like a6 hour flight from Toronto to Amsterdam so I think that’s nothing to be disappointed about !

How was the noise level at this seat, considering you were right in front of the lavatory? Could you hear constant flushing and commotion? Just curious as I am thinking of booking this exact row of seats, and LOVE that there will not be an annoying passenger pressing the back of your seat while maneuvering the in-flight entertainment system. The windows are lockable by the Crew. I think they only do this on night flights to avoid "that one guy" who Always keeps his/her window open while everyone else has theirs closed

Kinda funny he actually carried it off the flight at the end. How did you like Salt Lake City Airport? I've only been there once, and i had been awake for 28 hours or so... My memories of the airport and the city are a blurry mess.

yes it's a 787-9! the seat reclines like all the others and you even have a little extra storage(behind the seat). the toilet doesnt bug me because I wear eye shades and ear plugs!

I did not have problems with the flight or the service or being-on-time. Actually, we were ahead of schedule. The problem was before the flight. It was not a joyful moments. I quarrelled many times with my boss (he was not right, it is a long story). But I was also at fault, because I lost my temper and became angry. At that time, I really give nothing about what to say and what not to say. They unfairly critiqued my English accent (if I wrote a book about THEIR accent, that would be hundreds of pages long) and my habit. My habit is very different than most of the teachers. I made plenty of efforts to make my look perfect. I am maximalistic. But unfortunately, my boss did not accept it.

Yes, the open galley arrangement right next to seats is really weird. What was the designer's thinking? And what is the reason for locking the windows during night flight? Apologies if that was answered earlier.

Having such a galley arrangement is for optimizing the space available for both passengers and good catering facilities. It might actually be nicer to sit next to a galley block with only 3 rows than in an open cabin with 9 rows. The windows is obviously so that people don't open them and let in the daylight while people are still sleeping. Flying East the actual dark of night would be quite short (they arrived at 14:00 local time). Together with the mood-lighting, better environmental conditions etc. of modern airliners this helps optimize the experience for the passengers...

Excellent TR Loris. It would seem you are starting to like Skyteams airliners. Did you have to pay extra money for the window seat? The PTV screens were a lot bigger than BAs B787.900 PTVs. The more I see other economy flights I realize (English spelling) that BA are truly a rubbish airliner for economy passengers. BA cut back on snacks with the appetizer drink...their food seemed horrible. No wonder they are winning the race to the bottom.
