COMPLETELY smooth, flat undersides may be great for ground effect, but also once the car catches the air at a different angle, they may generate instant lift and exactly this happens. Its good that you debunk crap like this in a proper manner instead of harvest clicks off the silly myths and misconceptions like everybody else. Sure, a ONE:1 did crash at the Ring, but Im not sure... I actually doubt it was a factory backed event. If it was, you would expect them to use a later model car. And for the factory to be present. Which they were not. The fact is.. Koenigseggs cars are already sold out 2 and a half years to 18 months before they get built. They are busy trying to increase their production so that customers dont have to wait for them so long. Thats their focus. They definitely do not need some Nurburgring media stunt to sell their cars. So this has not really been a focus for the factory. A record run is extremely expensive and difficult to arrange. Mostly its just dont on Industry pool days. They may get to be first car on the track or last for the day. You almost cant just pay to have the track alone for a day. You CAN, but not for a small company like Koenigsegg. And if it rains that day, then its all for nothing. So yeah. Koenigsegg havent really tried. Good video.

That’s a really tragic one. Yeah the fact that people were so sick and twisted that they thought constantly emailing the family photographs of it is horrible. I believe the family basically cut themselves off from the internet after a while. People can be truly despicable. I think the images initially were leaked by a police officer to their friends

The only reason why Koenigseggs are banned at any track would be noise limits. Nothing more. Plenty of track cars are banned for the same reason.

​@@blagssssThey were never banned, the track enlisted new speed zone rules during that time cause egg was crashing daily. Egg didn't like the speed changes, so they stop going. Along with the accidents, demotivated egg to even do anything track related.

@@nicholasn.2883 Depends what one means by "fast" really, and how one goes about it. All street legal cars are compromises in some way, I could build something that looks quite a lot like an old golf mk4 and take the production car lap record with it, if permitted. Nurburgring lap records for street legal cars are more or less just weight, power to weight and what tires that are mounted. Not all that big difference for the rest. So I doubt a well set up Pagani is slow. I also doubt its fast. Its more than likely, almost exactly where expected when reading the spec sheet, as most cars are.

Koenigsegg One:1 owed the lap record around Spa and that was on its practice run with a passenger. The current official lap record is held by the Pagani Huayra BC Roadster

Gemera will be heavier than AMG One but have loads more power. Likely less downforce which I think will prevent it being super fast over a lap. Jesko is light and powerful but RWD. Nothing that held back GT2RS MR and AMG GT-R Black Series. And Jesko wins at weight, downforce and power. Oooh boiii...will they? Will a customer? No customers seem to have pro drivers do true attempts on any track. Banned by Koenigsegg?

@@clkgtr12 Polar opposite to Gemera in terms of comfort. Non turbo V12 for sound and response, but less power. All to the rear wheels with a pinch of hybrid salt to the rear axle as well. Valkyrie is all about downforce otherwise. Tiny cabin for LMP1 levels of area, sortof. Efficient aero, it will not require a lot of power to cruise at 300 compared to a McLaren Senna or such I think, but it will take a lot of fuel due to the V12. Valkyrie suspension ought to be very laptime focused. Its main weaknesses being RWD and seemingly missing its weight target by a significant amount. A road trip in Gemera is going to be pure joy, in Valkyrie a taste of hell that you may never quite flush out of your system until it's really time for your final judgment 😅

@@clkgtr12 If we assume Jesko Attack and Valkyrie to have the same downforce level (I dunno really), Valkyrie has a 100 kg advantage. Jesko a 500 hp advantage, and probably a better gearbox but no hybrid torque fill, but also less of torque gap to fill. Jesko Attack surely has more drag at any speed, but the power to compensate. Porsche and AMG have built very fast cars even if they weren't light. Chassis design matters. Valkyrie is based on an Adrian Newey design, but he's not the one finishing it today and it's his first try anyway. Koenigsegg are not known for getting the most from traction control and chassis (cornering). Just very few times full-on lap attacks happened in Ks. Valkyrie ought to win over a lap. Weight matters, drag matters, focused design matters. Will we even see either get lapped with conviction? The Rimac Nevera lap attack on the Nordschleife didn't seem quite as committed, or the car is just useless from its weight and the tyres it runs. 1000 kg more than Valkyrie, less downforce, but AWD.

Spa lap record with like half of the power only beaten by a Mclaren senna years later and Mclaren was there for like a week and Koenigsegg was there like 2 days and in traffic.
