I Love whiskeytown Lake! Lived In cottonwood. CA as a kid. This was the spot to cool off. Camped with my kids at Oak Bottom a year before the fire 🔥. Now I need to return with my boat to fish...! WE RESIDE IN Yamhill co, OR. Great video.

Looks like a totally epic day! I’ve been having my eye on fishing the Shasta area for some time and looks like I’m gonna have to finally do it. Thanks for sharing Ash! 🤙🏼🎣🔥

Next, you should go to Lake Roosevelt, for sockeye salmon sized fish.

Thanks 🙏 again for sharing another one of your adventures with us. Back when I was a kid, I believe it was in the 60s, my father took us to Whiskeytown Lake. It had been open for a year or two then. It was totally awesome back then and it looks like it still is. Larger Kokanee are so much fun to catch and eat!

Wow that looks fun I never have fish for Kokanee perhaps I’ll try this year keep up the good work Ash I love your different videos that you’re putting together don’t stop and I would some people might think it’s boring but I would like to see some more behind the scenes work that you’re doing with the fisheries with your new degree I can’t wait for someone to work with fish and wildlife that may actually be able to do something productive

I would suggest trying out lake Sutherland if you like those Kokanee. We used to get six for breakfast on the regular and some years when there's tons of them they start eating a smaller ones and you get some up to 16 and 18 in but we always let those big ones go for the gene pool.

I hope you went into the water later because that’s where we always went to cool off rather than Shasta.
