The Konova K2 slider - What you can do with it

The Konova sliders are well built and easy to use. Different length make them ideal for travelling or for studio work. The bearings are moving smooth and reliable.
The sled has a friction screw that prevents any moving.
All in all I'm very satisfied with it. It is an affordable and well built slider.
Please watch also the video from Nitsan Simantov, where he shows how you can use the crank handle with dumbbell weights to add a momentum to the slider. That makes the movement even smoother.
• MUST SEE for slider us...

Thanks for putting this video together. As others have said, the music isn't necessary. I had hoped you would show the POV of the final shot when you're manually cranking the handle. I'm curious just how smooth the movement is with the handle. You went to black and kept me hangin'.

Is it possible to mount the crank kit upside down? This way the crank would be beneath the slider rail, and thus able to turn without colliding with the camera or the head.

really well done. I enjoyed it and learned a LOT. thanks for creating this. Im looking at buying this slider. Only thing i wish you had done was to show the video that you shot using that crank handle... id like to see how it compares to the video of you pushing the unit down the rail... seems the slider would be smoother. if you make that video please do let me know! :) thanks again!

I actually didn't see any bending when it was on the ends. If you look closely its the tripod mount that the slider is on that has some "give" to it and cause a slight bend.

Take The Stage NC Entertainment Hello. It was no problem, because my camera is a Canon XF100 and it is almost as lightweight as a DSLR. For bigger Cameras like the Sony FX7 or the Blackmagic Ursa it is not recommended. But with the Ursa Mini it could work You also have to consider the weight of your videohead. I had a Manfrotto 502AH and it was OK.

I have not had a good experience with the Konova K2. Very low friction to the extent that you have to use a finger on the rail as you slide to get friction + I have play in the bearings that mean you have to also put extra weight on head as you slide to minimise bumps. I would give it a 4-10

Also insgesamt ungefähr an die 5 kg. Meinen Sie, dass das mit diesem Slider möglich ist, oder wäre der K3 eine bessere Wahl? Danke für dieses hilfreiche Video!
@StefanKlinge
@StefanKlinge 10 жыл бұрын

After my bad experience with my first 37" K2 breaking one of the legs the first day in use. I decided to send it back to Amazon, This time I bought the 47" K2 and it arrived today . This one does not slide smoothly at all. I spent over an hour trying to adjust the slider after reading your very poorly written instructions. But it was no use the slider is simply manufactured poorly and the bearings hang up in the center and there is so much friction you hear metal on metal when sliding across the entire surface of the rail. I very carefully tried to adjust the bearings they would either be loose and sloppy or too tight,I could not get a smooth motion at all. So far based on my experience with Konova you seem to make poorly manufactured products. I now will have send this one back to amazon and wait another 10 days for a refund just like I had to do the first time when I purchased the 37" K2. This slider is a piece of junk!, I bought two of them and had to return both to amazon. The motion was not smooth you could hear metal on metal friction and the slider bound up in the middle of the slide. I attempted to adjust it according to Konovas poorly written instructions and that was no use at all. I contacted Konova and received a very arrogant response that showed no concern whatsoever about making a customer who had two bad experiences happy. I would not recommend this piece of junk to anyone!

Why do you think the KONOVA K3, K5 and K7 exist? It all depends on your budget, you get what you pay for. The K2 has issues which are known throughout the web for years, but for its price it can be considered acceptable. It requires very careful handling and cleaning.

I bought a used K2 slider. Cleaning the track mechanism and using wax on the track as well as where the adjustable drag knob engages the side of the slider did wonders for smoothness.
