I turbo'd my 98 240sx ka24de back in 2002 and did 280 whp for about 2 yrs on stock bottom end, then in 2004 decided to build it with CP pistons and Crower rods, knife edged crank, 5 angle valve job, kelford cams and bigger turbo, 740cc nismo inj, final numbers were 482 whp and 465 wtq ... She is a BEAST. Its 2021 now and she is still strong and parked next to my 98 Supra in the garage ... never went sr20 or ca18 or rb ... Stayed with the torque monster KA24 .. And was the ONLY ka-t in the city for several years ...

@@KiranPatel-fk1pg the K series is a fantastic motor but remember the ka24 already comes in the 240sx and d21 pickup.. stock internals can easily handle 350whp (yes thats less than a k series i know) but that's definitely good enough for most builds... that's just my take. I think they had around 170-180 hp at the crank, i know my friends car was running around 250 crank.and now where i live theres a rugged s13 sitting a few houses down the street on a drivewaywith faided paint and inflated tires. I notice it every time i pass and i hope to pick it up one day and start building it up, for now thats wishfull thinking, but s13's where always pressent in my life one way or another seeing there are so few in my country i think it's in my faith to own one some day.😃👍✌️👉

There is no reason to go sr20 anymore . It was only viable when it it was under 2k , and only people on the coasts have access to them at hose prices. 500 or more to have that thing shipped to the midwest for example. But even back then you could do a used t25/28 cheap af with a 300 dollar turbo manifold, pilferred inter cooler from a from a used car, used waste gate, manual boost controller,z32 lsd. This was good for around 300 to the wheels but you needed a tune or the engine would blow. The best 4 cylinder for this car is probably the s2000 engine because it's one of the best engines of all time. You can keep it NA or go with a mild sized turbo. This option isn't for the light of wallet. Its aluminum and will save weight. VQ is cheap used engine but the v6 requires a twin turbo set up which is going to make boosting it twice as expensive as an I6 like the rb or 2j. But You can do close to 300whp NA as well as losing weight.
