DAWNDIDIDAWN is a re-introduction to Dawn, since a lot of people still refer to him as E-Dawn, or simply Hyuna's boyfriend and I feel like it also reflects his current state of mind; when he wrote and released MONEY, as far as I remember, he wasn't in a very good place, full of uncertainty and worries; now with DAWNDIDIDAWN, it's playful and fun, because he's more sure of himself as a person and as an artist.

Speaking of Jessi. Have you heard about the ‘Refund Sisters’ project involving Jessi, Uhm Jung Hwa, Lee Hyori & Hwasa? They have kind of made a girl group with comedian Yoo Jae Suk as their producer for the show Hangout with Yoo. They recently drop the single Don’t Touch Me and it’s doing really well on charts and stuff. If you haven’t listened to it yet I would love a reaction it, they have released a music video for it. If you’ve already heard the song I’m curious about what your thought are on the song and the project in general.

It's too early to say, but I'm really excited for when he's able to handle song production again. Not sure about how much he's had a hand in Pentagon's discography, but I adore the songs that credit him. He's written some lyrics too, but I feel like Hyojong isn't at a point where he could release whatever he feels like yet, and I'm supporting him until he can. Speaking of YG vibes, Jessi is in his live promotions.
@nionite68684 жыл бұрын
At the time he was in Pentagon, hyojong had more songs in his credits list than any other member, actually. Adding to that his work for Triple H where he heavily contributed especially in the 2nd album. Dawndididawn doesn’t feel like purely his style in all aspects imo, but that’s natural considering how many ppl worked on it, but the bsides are sooo his style imo.
@АлёнаД-щ3в4 жыл бұрын
@@nionite6868 dawndididawn is like really perfect marketing (not a bad thing, since I like it a lot). And it is obviously tailored for replays with name repetitions, famous name drops, catchy melodies and the Jessi feature. Ah, at this point I’m just really happy so many Jessi fans found him. Hopefully his next comeback does even better commercially.

Always good to get a notification from you bud. I agree regarding the song and significance of this video 100%. Even the set of MV was very muted and basic, shifting all of the viewer's attention to Dawn and the lyrics. While the song (especially Jessi's verse) didn't do much for me, the performance of P-Nation tracks on the charts are showing that PSY is on to something. I would be SUPER interested to see if PN has any plans for boy or girl groups in the works. Just imagine a trainee system overseen by PSY.

I think that maybe the reason why they put money first is that is a more heavy song, I personally like it a lot, but I’ve heard from a lot op people that they find dawndididawn more light and likely to listen to more, so maybe that’s why. Maybe it’s easy to listen and also the chorus is really catchy so yeah that’s why I think they released it in that order. And I agree totally that Pnation is showing that their artists are really like a close family and it’s a great way of starting.

This felt rather simple of course to compare with money, but it still was really good. It's more laid back, and has this badass sassy vibe. I also agree that he might purposely put attention on his lyrics. It feels like he's introducing himself once again to the public that he's Dawn not edawn or whoever. That he's a solo artist from p nation. Also I want to point out his dancing. Money was really emotional, this song's choreography was really good as well. It's more easier than money, but you know how god damn well Dawn dances and his execution and charisma are just...wow.

This mini-album is a gem. The b-side are much more pop sounding (special mention to 평소와 똑같은 밤 and 호랑나비) but also shows a good variety of his skills and atmosphere.
