People at SM didn't think INVU would be a good title track but Taeyeon loved it so much and fought for this song. Well, she proved them wrong because she just got a RAK + PAK and is breaking so many of her own achievements with this song. We waited 2+ years for her 3rd album but it was worth it because it's a masterpiece. As the saying goes, trust and listen to Taeyeon.

I was really hoping someone would do Roman/Greek mythology concept in kpop. The story of Artemis was such a good choice, and Taeyeon pulls off Greek goddess so well! Also, shout out to the new SM stylists, they've been knocking it out of the park since January 2021.

The story comes from a telling of the Orion+Artemis mythology. Artemis(goddess of the moon, stag, bow+arrow, also a virgin goddess) fell in love with Orion. And in this telling of the myth, apollo was displeased that his sister fell in love with a man so he sent a scorpion to attack him but orion swam into the ocean. Then, Apollo challenged Artemis to a shooting competition, and ofc he knows her arrows never miss. And her own arrow kills Orion (3:52) Drowned by the grief of what she did, she sets him in the stars (3:31)

I love how contradicting this is to mainstream Kpop. Idk why people think a song needs to have a powerful music or drops in order to sound good (vibe with it I guess). And that’s one thing I love about this song, it’s so soothing and her voice is what definitely drives this song and just like you said her emotional connect with hers songs is what I honestly think draws people in. 2nd chorus is the key to the emotional resonance of the song. Her vocal skill is strong enough to draw the title of the song through the beat. And even better, she drops the vocal register to contrast it with the pre-chorus, which makes the lyrics a lot more solemn. This track reminds me a lot of Utada, one of favorite singers, in the early 2000s in terms of the artistry, but Utada never had the vocal chops to pull off that kind of technique. And I agree, the minimal beat, though combined with some whistling effects, allow Taeyeon's vocal skill to be the driving force. Might be her best track.

Loved this song so much and the mv made me geek out so much. Obviously they were going for the Greek mythology concept and these are somethings I noticed: 1-Taeyeon is representing Artemis the goddess of the hunt, wild animals and the moon among other things. 2-most of the Mv is lit in a way that makes it seem like the moonlight is brightening the location. (And since Artemis is the Goddess of the moon it ties in) and a lot of shots of the moon. 3-the location looks like Greek structures but since the background is the clouds or rather the sky it means it’s on Mt.Olympus. 4-the statues are trying to reference one of the most famous statues of Ancient Greece “the statue of David” but that statue has arms so...I would go for “Venus de Milo” as well but that’s a female statue. 5-the pond where Taeyeon and the backup dancers are dancing reminds me of the story of Narcissus which Artemis was involved in. 6- there were a lot of silvery things in the mv and silver is associated with Artemis. 7-at one point in the mv the heart is golden which is her brother’s (Apollo’s) color. Idk why she was holding it but it’s what it is. 8-at one point in the mv she destroyed the moon and since she is the moon she is destroying herself. The lyrics such as “Even I abandon myself and lose myself more, The irony is that you shine more” and “I guess I lost my mind, Yeah It’s my kind of love” are about destructive love which ties in with the visuals. 9-in the white outfit Taeyeon’s hair is styled in a way that it’s looks like the horns of a ram or goat and what’s crazy is that there is another God of wilderness aside from Artemis named Pan that is half goat and half human so they might have used it as parallel since both of them are nature deities. Also Fauns that are also half goats follow Artemis so there is that. 10- I might be reaching with this last one but whatever. Artemis is also the Goddess of chastity and a lot of her followers are nymphs (female nature creatures) and she doesn’t interact with male beings a lot so that might be also why all of Taeyeon’s backup dancers were females.

Apparently it was built on the story of Artemis x Orion (according to the director). Artemis loved Orion but her brother Apollo did not like him so he had to die. Probably why the lyrics say that she loves him but can't. Artemis then turnt him into a constellation (Orion). That is why you see the sky and that one scene where she sends sparkles to the sky.

I love it. I am not hardcore into all of Taeyeon's music either, but this is glorious. Just my style of house music, and Taeyeon's vocals elevate it. That pre-chorus, gosh. I know Taeyeon is good, but still what a pleasant surprise.

Absolutely mesmerizing. It reminds me of many different artists’ eras in some ways. Chunghas Stay Tonight with certain choreo and the outfits. Hwasa with the arrows attacking her. Even some BTS Blood Sweat and Tears with the aesthetic of the video with the neoclassicism. It all combines into an absolutely captivating house banger with heart wrenching lyrics and dramatic vocal runs. For me, her best release in years.

MV explanation Taeyeon in the video is Artemis (Greek goddess of hunting and the moon). She was in love with a hunter named Orion, but Apollo was displeased and killed Orion, so Artemis turned Orion into a constellation. This fits with INVU's theme of "I can't love you even if I do". Thanks for the reaction and kisses from Brazil. 💋💋👏👏😍

she looks sooooo gorgeous in this video! can't wait see her performing this song on stage! I really like the sm box style video though, since they do not go for easy box mv but rather load of CG, and CG is cash burner. and the aesthetic of all sm's videos kinda reunion into a universe, called sm universe aka kwangya.

This music video is absolute fire. I ove Taeyeon's style in this amazing mv. But if they could give Seulgi the same treatment when she goes Solo, my goodness. I think SM needs to give Seulgi a bada** Solo album. I mean the best CG the best choreographers the best stylist. Seulgi has the potential to be Iconic, seriously. Another great reaction video, thank you. 🕊🎶🎊🥂🍾🎉

I absolutely loved this comeback and the album is great, definitely one of her best works. For some reason, the style of this song reminds me of a Caroline Polachek song(for those who don't know, she's a great American singer who used to be part of a group called Chairlift). Now I want to see those two do a song together.

Honestly, I didn't like and disappointed that it was a title track at first listening. But one day, it suddenly played while I was half asleep in the daytime, and it was a whole different experience. I felt like I was in a different dimension. After then, I'm seriously obsessed with this song. I even liked the remix version released by SM scream record. It's my favorite song in my entire life.
