What a timely message - for every wise woman and for every generation. A man who loves a woman is a grande thing, and that woman better realize her tremendous luck! We were meant for each other. Love is something worth cultivating. Loving, strong women are the seeds of loving good communities. The Garden of Eden is in our back yard if we only knew it. Beautiful song lyrics.

@@marlene-rr2ih Nope, totally neutral on political issues. Just giving a reality check. Human history is filled with cruelty, injustice, brutality and suffering. That's a fact. We should want something better for the future, don't you think?

Shame the only way to be “happy” is to go back to being a sweet thing whose life must revolve around a male with a tender ego. Even for the era this is too much bunkum .

While Ive always like charismatic Gloria Stuart, Im unsure about this uneven re-make of Ann Carver's Profession (1933) with Fay Wray and Gene Raymond. The earlier film had more Pre-Code Ooomph to it. Interesting Feminist text running through but cops out to put the woman back in her "dutiful place".

Struck down by the patriarchy! The best lawyer in the city capitulates to the glass ceiling… lovely film, shame that they both couldn’t win… a male nightclub singer is better than a female one and a husband is better than a wife… Mr Hayward wins again!

Why is that great job more important than being a wife and mother to a new generation?

you shouldn't be so jealous just 'cuz you can't get a husband yourself

Well, a human being only has 24 hours in a day, and a limited amount of energy. What is a wife or a husband's priority? To gratify selfish desires for fame and luxury or to build a loving relationship and a happy home? Men and women both can fall into a "career trap", where they are sucked into working such long hours and even devoting their non-working hours to promoting their careers and business, that there is no time or energy left over for the one they vowed to love and cherish til death do them part.
