the graphics don't look bad, people are bitching because it didn't change much from PS3. but the developers themselves said that the game was too heavy to run in a ps3, it ran in 15 FPS in the first demo and it dipped to single digits. they sped it up for the demo. the PS3 version looked great so that's why.

People are.. bitching about the graphics? Really? No surprise there, but I thought Ico and Shadow of the Colossus looked amazing, even if they were just PS2 games to begin with. This game looks very much the same, which I am fine with. Even so, if the developers made something looked leagues better than most any other game at the time (around 2001, mind you) with Ico, you won't have to worry a thing with the new instalment. Even what footage leaked of the game I saw in the HD Remaster of the first two blew me away. And, really playability should be the main reason of concern for any game, not just if it looks good.

ICO started as a late PS1 game but was pushed back to PS2 due to the PS1 limitations in a similar way this game was pushed back to PS4.

Animations are a huge part of the graphics, you know that is a video right, you can hit the play button, then that picture gets moving and you will actually see the wonderful animations which make the graphic look amazing. You annoying youtube brats who just complain for the sake of it. You got no other problems? I didn't hear IGN complain about the graphics, all i heard was praise. If you cannot appreciate it then just buy whatever you think looks great.

+xKingx16 Dated? Can't be the bird-dog thing because it is one of the most realistic looking animals I have seen in a game and the feather are all individually molded. The environment look amazing and extremely detailed and what they were going for just like in their other games. The boy looks good even of his design is simple. The colors are saturated but so are ICO and SotC because that is the art direction of his games. The animations can't be the problem... so what exactly do you think makes the game look dated?

because it was the beloved game of an entire generation, kinda like what has become a sad joke for valve and its inability to count to 3... Shadow of the Colossus and ICO were a huge massive thing, a piece of digital as many people think and the fact that team ICO, from all the other producers (Valve, Square Enix with the Kingdom Hearts 3 promise and the constant pouring of shitty remakes that dont add much to the story or game itself... im a huge fan of both franchises) the fact that Team ICO are actually delivering what they promised more that a decade ago, that's the reason for the huge hype. An entire generation praising and demanding a third chapter for so long and now they (us) will finally be able to play it by ourselves, that's a big deal :)

ICO missed the PS1 due to technical limitations of the PS1. It was pushed back to early PS2 title. This game was pushed back due to the technical limitations of the PS3.

And it's possible you might have to play the game multiple times before Trico is full grown. I'm guessing ( and hoping ) that's going to be the case. If this tower is as HUGE as these guys make it out to be, I doubt you will be able to scale it all the way to the top in your first play through. OMG.....the excitement for this game is never ending. lol

Just to be fair...."Limbo" was a masterpiece. And "Scalebound" "Inside" "Below" look like very good games too. Having said that, nothing is going to compare to the emotion you will feel when fighting, exploring, & bonding with Trico. "The Last Guardian" will break new ground. I think it will easily win GAME OF THE YEAR. I just hope it's this year. LOL

I'm gonna walk up to a videogame shop or just open up the PS store and just look for it, everyday, until I find it. And if I do find it, I'm gonna let the game hit me full force. People are crying about the graphics? I personally think the art style is beautiful. The lighting and animations are what really make it, and the architecture reminds me of SotC and Ico. If you don't understand the hype, I suggest playing Shadow of the Colossus, such a phenomenal game.

The butterflies looked like they were going to fly right out of the screen. And the game is not even in 3D.....although that would be nice if you have an option to play it that way. "Shadow Of The Colossus" was great in 3D. Has SONY just dumped the idea of making games 3D compatible? So, now that we know his tail can shoot lightning, It's almost certain that his eyes, mouth, & blue horns will also function as weapons too. The excitement just continues to build for "The Last Guardian".

I find the photorealism of the huge beast and the world compared to the low-detail anime-esque style of the boy pretty jarring. I hope the finished product has a similar level of detail on the kid. I don't prefer one style over the other, but two polar opposite styles at once doesn't work aesthetically IMO.

The Seaman I thought my comment was pretty clear. Look at the style of the creature and the world, and now compare that to the style of the boy. The boy looks like he doesn't belong there because his style is very different from the rest of the world, it's jarring. The problem is the lack of stylistic consistency.

He actually doesn't belong there. It's only by chance that the boy & Trico are forced to bond with each other so they can escape the large ruins that they are most likely trapped in. And I bet you are going to have to scale that HUGE tower and make it all the way to the top before you have truly completed the game. And it might actually require multiple play through's in order to get to the top. So yes, there might be an ending of sorts when you finish the game. But the TRUE ending is going to require that you make it all the way to the top of the tower. So many fans of "Shadow Of The Colossus" were upset that they could not explore all the way to the top of the shrine. Well now they will get what they wish for with a massive tower that you won't be able to fully explore in just one play through. Oh the many thought & speculations concerning this game. LOL

Keep in mind you might not be getting told everything. I think it will be hard for anyone to spoil much of this game before it's release because a lot of unexpected things are going to happen in this game. The Palpatine Tail is just the tip of the ice berg. And I also believe that it will take a month or more before we know all there is to know. Because I think you will have to play the game multiple times to solve every puzzle & explore every place that can be explored. So even the trolls that will try to put every spoiler out there are going to have to wait a while before they will know all there is to know. Just get ready for a game like no other. lol

That annoyed me too. But trust me, there will be plenty of secrets that no one is going to know about for weeks or maybe even months. I'm guessing that you will have to play the game multiple times in order to make Trico fully grown & also to reach the top of that HUGE tower. So I'm thinking that maybe Trico will die the first time around. Maybe even the second time. But if you keep playing, eventually Trico will have majestic wings & be able to go anywhere & defeat any enemy. He will become a true force to reckon with & once you make it to the top of the tower, the game will end with the camera pulling back as you are on top of Trico's head while Trico is perched on the very top of the tower. Just like the art work on the box. The sun starts to go down & the screen turns black. We hear one last roar from Trico. The End.

I'm looking foreword to this game but...lets be honest. At the very end of it all we're going to be left crying and curled up in a fetal position on the floor. This is team ICO after all.

Most likely yes. But maybe something a little different might happen with this game. Maybe you will have to play multiple times in order to get strong enough that Trico won't die at the end. I will be shocked if this game doesn't have re-play value that's directly connected with making further progress in the game other than what will be possible in your first play through. Trico might not even be able to fly the first time around. But maybe by the 2nd or 3rd play through, he will have majestic wings & be one hell of a force to reckon with. If this tower is as HUGE as these guys make it out to be, I'm guessing that you won't be able to get to the top of it the first time around. It will be kind of like when you had to play "Shadow Of The Colossus" multiple times in order to have enough strength to scale the side of the shrine & get to the bridge & the secret garden. Oh the possibilities that await in "The Last Guardian" LOL

If you can save your progress in this game, Trico won't be a baby by the 2nd or 3rd play through. Trico will be a true force to reckon with & his wings will be fully grown as well as his horns which no doubt will emit a blue beam of some kind that will be deadly. I think his eyes will emit a multi-colored ray as well. Something like what Mecha-Godzilla has. Oh the possibilities. LOL

PS. The graphics engine here definitely lets down the artistry of the game a bit. It looks like a PS2 game engine running a game with the quality of presentation you'd expect from a modern AAA title, but where the tech can't fully do it justice. Stuff like the lighting, textures, grass, how it draws stuff further from the camera, etc., all look a bit rough and dated technically.

It's a man eating Eagle. Part cat, part rat, part eagle. Everyone calls it bird-dog even though it's been said by it's creator since day 1 exactly what type of hybrid animal/reptile it is. And I think we will see it eat a man or two in the game. It's going to get tired of vomiting wood after a while. LOL

I read extensively about the E3 demo and they never said it was on PS3. They said things that you probably could have misconstrued to mean that but the E3 demo was definitely running on PS4.
