What does matter is how the hell does he have the resources to turn an entire planet into a weapon, get that blown up, then fly around in is super sized flying wing like nothing happened? How he can blow up multiple planets, killing trillions of people, force millions of others to serve as slave soldiers, and nobody in the universe seems to care? Why is Leia in charge of a shoestring "Brave Resistance" against nothing for 30 years until Snoke finally shows up? If the "Resistance" is part of the Republic why are their resources so poor when the Republic is the ruling galactic power? For that matter, why is Leia still in the military? She was a politician who was forced into armed conflict in the OT due to circumstance, there's no reason that she wouldn't return to politics.

Joe Syxpack I honestly agree with all of your points and wish that was explained as well. But I’m not sure it would’ve worked with the inherently flawed design of the sequel trilogy. I think Johnson tried to work with what he had but was not good at designing a story that would be continued directly after with a third film. I honestly think that if he was put in charge of a one off he could’ve made a good story. I mean look at Knives Out, it’s clear the guy can make a good film. I just really think JJ going into the trilogy without a completely a concrete plan was a horrible idea. Yes, it worked for Lucas with the originals, but you know what they say “lightning never strikes twice in the same place”.

Did you realise that Kylos mask is the perfect allegory for every movie it's in? In episode 7, it was a discount Vader mask, as episode 7 was a discount episode 4. In episode 8, it got smashed to pieces, as episode 8 smashed everything that episode 7 set up to pieces. In episode 9, Kylo tried to fix his mask but it still looked a mess because he wasn't able to repair it after it got destroyed like that in the last movie, like J.J. tried to repair the trilogy and return to the stuff he set up in episode 7, but failed because it was already too late and the damage couldn't be undone.

Snoke is just a discount pale orc who came out of nowhere, First Order is discount Empire that also came out of nowhere, New Republic was destroyed by one discount Deathstar and no one cared because we haven't seen a single scene or a character on these planets, all main characters were boring and unlikeable and old characters were treated like shit. The Force Awakens is an absolutely terrible opening of the trilogy and it would be hard to fix it even if Rian never screwed up TLJ. These movies suffer from lack of originality and passion. It's like no one cared about story, characters, lore etc. They just wanted to collect their sweet money profiting off of a beloved franchise that millions of people hold dear. It was a giant scam designed to monetize nostalgia. It's amazing to me that a rich corporation like Disney could not make this good with all their resources and influence. They just didn't care! The movies sold well anyway so why bother?

(as there are only 2 sith if Maul would have been a real sith then Sidious would have killed him himself as soon as he came back) for the sec part: as we saw Kylo was holding back against Rey all the time.. when he was not holding back (on the ruins of the death star) then Leia needed to save Rey's ass.. and again.. if you read the books you know that Rey knows everything Kylo knows as she has a rare force power so if she reads someone mind she learns everything that person knew until that point.. so: when Rey read Kylo mind in the force awakens she have learnt everything Kylo knew, that is why she was so powerfull sudenly.. but this won't change the fact that even if Kylo was beated by a girl who never held a lightsaber before (with the knowledge of Kylo) then Maul is the weakest sith lord ever as he was beated by padawans who did not even finish their training :DD

Honestly if they had just finished the story started in 7, as bad as it was, they would be that much of a problem.
