John and Eivor are the miracle musical combo of the century. John saw Eivor on youtube and invited her to a 3 hour session to see what she may offer to the Last Kingdom soundtrack. The first session ended up being 3 days. John says she can sing anything. At one stage she sings as a male boy. because he asked her if she could. They ended up writing the soundtrack for The Last Kingdom together.

You probably haven't seen my comment about Eivør as I have commented on your reaction to Eivør in other videos. But Eyvør and the population of the Faroe Islands are descendants of the Celts and Vikings. The Celts were a mixture of a people with a special culture where song and war were a large part of the culture. In the same way, storytelling, song and war were a large part of the culture of the Vikings. All Faroese from the Faroe Islands have Celtic and Viking DNA and this also applies to Eivør. So it is very appropriate that Eivør is allowed to use her amazing voice for all the music in the series and the film The Last Kingdom. YOU SHOULD SEE THE SERIE. It is very good.

What I as a Faroese person like about this song is the story. It tells about how the father of Sigmund Brestisson (one of our national heroes) was killed. Him and his brother were ambushed and took out a lot of the attackers. He got stabbed with a spear and when he noticed, he stepped forward through the spear, grabbed the guy who'd stabbed him and jumped off a cliff with him.
