One of the best voices you will ever hear. Thanks for this reaction. If you want to listen to something else from her that is more contemporary then please check out her performance of Falling Free, live at the Old Theater in Torshavn. Fantastic music and vocals again. Great sound quality in the recording too.

The title translates to spellbound and she describes her devotion to the mage that did this to her. The "beatbox" episodes are when she is performing "Galdr" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galdr which is a sourcery/enchantment mostly performed by women. Seeresses outof which the three most important are Urd, Skuld and Verdandi that weave the cloth of destiny for all men and women. Old Norse mythology. If she really does galdr or just imitates it, is up to what you believe.

I have goosebumps everywhere. 😍 What a great singer. And the setting is a dream. You get wanderlust straight away. By the way, Eivor also made the soundtrack for the Netflix series The last Kingdom - epic and beautiful! Greetings from Germany 💕

The echo is natural. It's a natural cathedral. What I love about this video is that it was this video that John Lunn saw. He then invited her in for a session and Eivor went on to co-compose the soundtrack for The Last Kingdom over 5 years. Eivor and John are the dream team. I think if you search through interviews that Eivor sang out of her head over music already recorded by John and they recorded the main theme on the first attempt. Eivor is astonishing not only vocally but also musically. She is my favorite vocalist ever.

As a metalhead, this is one of my favourite non-metal songs. It's so primal and I feel like she's a mystical fairy calling me deep into an enchanted forest, never to be seen again. And I wouldn't be mad about it either 🤣 If I'm not mistaken, her name is pronounced eye-vour(like the word four, but with a v). Any Faroese people out there, please correct me if I'm wrong haha I highly recommend her song Falling Free live. You can hear her sing in English and it is another stunning performance 🤘

Eivør's musical intelligence is off the charts. She is a Nordic spirit who walks among us, and the music just comes pouring out of her. She has no equal.

Thanks for this reaction! She is definitely one of the finest live singers I've ever heard... Check her other live perfomances: "Falling free" , "Wake me up", "True love", "Boxes", "Salt", "Gullspunnin", "Mánasegl" Eivor has a wonderful voice! The reason she sounds kind of operatic is because she has said that she's a vocal technique nerd, she studied a variety of styles, from opera (There's actually a very old live recording of her singinf Trollabundin with an opera twist) to throat singing and beatbox, also growling too. Glad you gave her a chance!, thank you :D She needs more recognition.

Eivør from the same concert in western Norway feat. the band Vamp w/their song "Tir n'a Noir" (again inspired by Irish folk): kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2irgmSLYtp6l7c Apparently the crowd was there for a Vamp concert, explains the full band set up on stage, and they had Eivør with them to contribute on (at least) Tir n'a Noir + this solo guest performance, guess that's why the crowd looked as "spellbound" as many of us from her performance In this song Vamp sings in 🇧🇻 while Eivør sings her parts in 🇫🇴 The concert was also sent in its entirety on NRK (Norwegian public broadcaster)

LOL! watching your vids are almost = to :D Here let's get Spellbound by Trolls. Eivør performs it a bit different every time. Take a bit of traditional Norse (also Farao isles, back in the days) and mix it w Innuit throat singing techniques, sprinkle it w a bit of Eivør MAGIC, and taaaa Daaaaa! And KUDOS to NRK sound techs, they too are AmZn! Top Notch. Had the pleasure to experience them once, loooong time ago, previous life time-like ;)
