Nobody wants this series to end but by golly did they do a good job with season 5. I actually was dredding the ending of this series. Was worried it'd be a bummer like GoT. But no. This ended very nicely. Seriously underrated. Love the cast. Alfred, Uhtred, Beocca, Finan, Sihtric, Hild, Osferth, Ragnar, Halig, Odda, Leofric, oh too many to mention, really such wonderful characters!!!

Vikings was great during first seasons. Then, after Ragnar's death things went downhill. I find TLK to be quite the opposite. They started low, then with each season they became better and better. Now, when Vikings is finished, I'd say that I prefer TLK to Vikings. Hopefully season 5 will not disappoint.

@@SULLY937 Aethelwold was my most hated character, I hated him from day 1 and had to suffer him for an eternity. He was just entitled, loathesome, sly, selfish ... I also hated Aethelred because he was a weak coward. My favorite character I think is Uhtred, he is selfless, and has been through so much, yet stays loyal. I liked Erik also, he brought hope, be it short term. Must not forget Beocca, he was true until the end. I thoroughly enjoyed season 1-4, I'm just sad it took me this long to discover it.

Last year in January my mom passed away. I never really was into tv shows but I got myself Netflix and started to watch The Last Kingdom. It really got me addicted and I've watched season 1-4 in one stretch. So then it was over for now, I've continued other shows and so on. I kinda forgot some plot and characters but I've now seen the last season and it really made me nostalgic. I love the show quite alot and I love the ending!

I have thoroughly enjoyed every episode from the very first; I don't expect to find another gem like this series. There is clearly elements here taken from Warriors of the Storm (Book 9) that I can see in the trailer that I am really looking forward to seeing how they capture on screen. I think some people will be really shocked by some of the events, one of which is hinted at in the Trailer...... As for the latter part of the season and The Flame Bearer (Book 10), I have been waiting 5 years since I first read the book to see this visualised on screen and I really cannot wait as if it is even half as great as that in the book I will not be disappointed.

Firstly considering that the series has taken a softer tone around the subject of Religion, I don't think that some of the stuff from the book will be carried over. But I will point to the line from the trailer with Uhtred saying _"She is coming for my bloodline"_ and the shot of Uhtreds son before that clearly in agony and saying _"Father"_ . That is seemingly something taken straight from the book with Uhtreds eldest son getting.................. Well lets just say getting horribly mistreated for now.... Besides if you do really want to know there's no reason why you can't just read the book, or be lazy and get an Audible subscription and listen to it..

The best and most underated show on television! I just found TLK this year, and I got to watch the show in its entirety without interruption, and let me tell you I couldn't be more impressed! I have my entire family hooked, and invested in Uthred of Bebanburg; as well as Sihtric, Finan, Baby Monk..lol. The cast did a superb job, and I hope to see them in future films!! Thank you for great television! Those who worked on the set as well as costumes designers deserve recognition! Just kind of perplexed the actors of TLK haven't won more awards! What an epic series, just watched the last season, I kept putting off watching it as I didn’t want it to end. Great ending with everything coming full circle. Can’t wait for the film. Definitely one epic story that can be watched time and time again.

Just watch the end of season 5. I watched a LOT of shows, films and alike. I'll say The Last Kingdom is the best, if not THE best, of all. Everyting just come together in the ending. Mind blowing.

In the books he has amounted enough wealth and reputation to lead a large enough force to do it on his own which I would prefer but with no build up to that in previous series you are probably right.

It almost sounds as if Edward is mocking Uhtred, shaming/questioning him maybe after a battle or as Uhtred is walking away bcuz he disagrees with something Edward is doing/recommending/ordering. I hope I am wrong and Edward does what he should have done a long time ago and that's help establish Uhtred of Bebbanburg as a leader in the north

I recently started watching it because I have read books of the all mighty knight warrior Uthred from Bebbanburg, he was recognized as a very intelligent warrior and loyal. The show even tho there is a lot of uncovered moments from the book it is very good to highlight on of the most important moments in Uthred's life when he defeated the most terrifying viking Ubba. I'm still starting at the season 2 so I can't wait when he helps king Alfred in a loyalty agreement he had to make for Wessex.

Can't believe it has already ended. It was a nice journey of 8 days with this masterpiece. Can't believe nobody ever recommended this. Series can be good but a series which gets better in every sequel is unnatural, surreal or whatever you call it. Sigtryggr, Sihtric and Finan are my fav characters. And ofc the lord of bebbanburg who had endured so much in this short span of life, put everone else before his kin but got nothing in return. Can't believe i won't be watching this anymore from tomorrow. Feels like someone very close to me died. Last but not the least, my most favourite part of this whole journey was last one minute - what a mind blowing recap, i couldn’t help crying. Stopping here cause if i keep writing at this pace, i might end up writing a book. Love, respect for the whole team.

Opino lo mismo, quisas mi serie favorite de Netflix o por lo menos a gusto personal Junto con Longmire Otra Gran serie para mi que tambien terminaron. Ojala tuviera mas temporadas pero bueno por lo menos la terminaron para ser Netflix... Falta una pelicula que van hacer y eso Seria lo Ultimo. El que sale arrodillado ante uthred es El Padre beoca? No Creo pero me gustaria mucho que regresara a la serie de algun modo.
