To play devil's advocate, NBC may have wanted it prerecorded so that Brody and Stewart could go out with dignity. This had to be so deeply personal for these East Bayers that I can't imagine who difficult it was to hold it together doing this final assignment... let alone doing so with the rawness of watching the final curtain come down.

You do know that the MLB commissioner, the other owners, and the players association all signed off on relocating the A's as ALL have given up on Oakland. Fisher could not have relocated the A's without their approval.. A non-profit organization led by Nahas built the Coliseum and after paying off the financing gave it to Alameda County and the city of Oakland. Apparently neither desired to spend a cent maintaining or sustaining the Coliseum. To draw the Raiders back from Los Angeles they funded Mount Davis, about a third of a new stadium, but failed to refurbish the Coliseum grandstand. While Mount Davis is great, the rest of the Coliseum is a dump. Even to attract the A's Nahas had to sell Finley on the Coliseum and the East Bay Area. Thus in reality the city of Oakland enjoyed MLB for over a half century and two decades of the NFL before Mount Davis without publicity financing or maintaining the Coliseum... And Oakland fans wonder why ALL of their major league team LEFT? Real Estate 101, to entice tenants to sign new leases, offer incentives and IMPROVEMENTS to the property... Oakland didn't entice their tenants to sign a new lease and they ALL left...

Thanks Brodie for all that you’ve done. Fisher and Kaval deserve each other. I would have been perfectly happy if the A’s organization just upgraded the coliseum, or built one close by to that. Fisher was determined to dismantle the team, and he did it well. I’m not even sure if he was going to build the other coliseum. I never trusted Kaval. The Oakland A’s will always remain in my heart. A prerecorded Post-Game "Live" show means they wanted the ability to censor any true final thoughts from Brodie and Stew. I usually try to be tactful in my KZbin comments, but kids, cover your eyes! These past two years have been some of the shadiest shit I've ever seen. MLB and Manfred want nothing to do with Oakland because the image is too "dark" and unpolished. Instead of A's ownership and MLB building up the city the way the Giants and MLB did with China Basin in SF, they abandoned Oakland. Let's just be f*cking honest about it! John Fisher, Dave Kaval, and Rob Manfred are complicit, and as far as I'm concerned they can all go f*ck themselves! Brodie, you got totally screwed because you brought as much truth as you could without risking your job, but they still silenced you. All started for me with the Bash Brothers, Canseco, McGuire, Dennis E, Ricky Henderson, Dave, Walt, 3 world series in a row, battle of the bay.... As a kid, this was my team. Heartbreaking to see the owner and mlb chasing greed in hopes of becoming the next billion dollar franchise, only because of everything Vegas, being a world travel destination, has to offer. Raiders went from being the 30th most valuable NFL franchise to the 5th/6th in a matter of 3 or 4 years. Ever since then, Fisher has had blinding dollar signs in his eyes salivating for a move to LV. What a pos!

I totally agree with Dave's view that the A's are essentially playing in a shack by playing in a minor league ballpark in Sacramento. It is totally unacceptable for any pro sports franchise to be playing in such terrible conditions for the amount of time the A's have to. I fully expect the MLBPA to voice their views on this way before the season starts up again in March & before the A's begin the process of moving equipment & personnel to Sacramento.

As a lifelong Mariners fan, I’m no fan of Oakland, they are our rival and rooting against Oakland has been part of my fandom. Now that the day is here, I am struck by quite a bit of sadness. I know it’s not the same as what Oakland fans are feeling having gone through the Sonics leaving Seattle, but nevertheless it is incredibly sad to have to say goodbye to your rival and know there won’t be another rivalry game again.
