@@No1CaresWorkHarderBih The world is most often not black and white. There are times when ideologies must bend to the force of reality. I’ve seen the civic benefits to being an NFL city; hosting games, playoffs, and Super Bowls. I’ve seen the benefit of having a massive venue for concerts and other events. I’ve seen first hand how a city can enhance its standing as a vacation destination by being on Monday Night Football. I’ve seen the civic pride when a team simply makes it to a Super Bowl. I’ve seen the jobs created and the identity of a region enhanced by being an NFL city. So I also appreciate the need for local governments to partner with teams to build and maintain venues. It’s reality in most cases. The SoFi situation in LA is a clear outlier. Most cities don’t have the revenue generating power that the few super cities do that would allow teams to build their own stadiums independently and without partnerships with local municipalities, who also benefit greatly from the mutual efforts.

Thanks, Brodie and Bip. You gentlemen are a class act. I saw my first A's game in 1971 (Vida's 20th win) and have been going to games even since, including today. I didn't think today would be as painful as it was. When Stomper entered through centerfield and John Fogerty's song started playing, it really hit me. I could easily write a book about my memories of the A's and the Coliseum, from being a fan to covering the team and interviewing Billy Martin, but when the game ended, I didn't like baseball anymore. I'm not sure if I'll watch the game again. After more than 50 years of playing the game, writing about the game, reporting on the game, and just plain being a fan, I feel terribly betrayed and let down. Maybe I will reconsider, but for now, I'm done.😢

My first time to the Coliseum I was eight years old and it was April of 1968, NY vs Oak. Micky Mantle homered in the first and the A's walked it off in 11. My parents were from Philly and their first date was an A's game in 1948. My Mom's first time to Shibe Park was 1936, her all time favorite A's player was Wally Moses. My parents also attended the Heidi Game. My brother worked for the organization at the Coliseum in the mid 80's to mid 90's. By that time I had moved to Alaska, but I always made it down to the Coliseum for World Series and Grateful Dead New Years runs. I snuck into the 89 World Series by going through the front office with my brother, shaking Sandy Alderston's hand along the way (the Haas family, now those were owners). I raised two A's fans in Alaska by being their LL & HS BB coach/umpire and taking them to a week of Spring Training games every March for a decade 96 to 06. A favorite memory being Mohamed Ali patting my son on the head and giving him an autograph on Barry Zito's leg on the cover of the program while he entered an A's Spring Training game in the 2nd inning to a standing ovation, that and all the foul balls and autographs. I've watched damn near every A's game since streaming has been a thing, and before that we used to get the A's on TV sometimes on Sundays, the highlight being watching Dallas Braden's perfect game with my son or taking both my young kids to the Bar to watch the 20 wins in a row. I took off work for Game 162. I made my last trip to the Coliseum in May, for the Texas series, finishing off with a Double Header sitting in Sec. 119 at the top of the A's tunnel. Now all of that has to come to an end because of one man. FJF

The feels! I was same, sad/mad but more mad. Didn't think I was going to cry... and then... like when it was the last take me out to the ball game, seeing grown men and women crying, coworkers everybody like so many emotions. It started hitting me, caught myself randomly crying here and there. Like they said, it's going to continue to hurt, so many moments will hurt. but it is what it is. heart hurts.

As a baseball fan who grew up watching Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers games. I feel for Oakland A's fans. I remember going to Oakland for game 2 of the 2013 playoffs against the Tigers. One of the best baseball experiences ever. The coliseum was filled with energy and one of the loudest parks I ever been too. Feel so bad for A's fans.

Brodie, I was there and it was quite an afternoon...I had a hard time keeping it together. My last MLB game ended with a bang. I snagged the last foul ball on the final at bat. Channel 5 was right there and interviewed me and saw myself on the 6 O' Clock news.

I just rewatched Kotsay's postgame speech again. l lose it every time hearing his final "LET's GO OAK-LAND". Been a fan since 87 when I first stepped foot in the Coliseum. Been living in the Midwest and haven't been able to get to a game recently, but still hurts to see this happen. Definitely felt like a Wake today. Thank you Brodie for everything you have done!

I live in the Los Angeles area, a few years ago I flew up to Oakland to visit my sister and went to a Oakland A's, from that night on my opinion and perspective on A's fans forever changed. As a Dodger fan, I had to admit OAKLAND A's fans are the best in MLB, I went back this season for 2 more games. So sorry to all the amazing fans of the OAKLAND A's. I now own a Oakland A's with a Last Dive Bar pin, a Last Dive Bar shirt, and a Oakland A's shirt. Let's Go Oakland.

As a Seattle sports fan, I feel for the fans of the A’s. Having lost the Sonics, this absolutely sucks! My sports heart goes out to the fans of Oakland, you’ve had all of your Major League teams leave your community. Hopefully one day you’ll have community leaders and owners working together rather than against one another. I believe owners should build and maintain their stadiums and that communities should never ever be held holding the basket. My wish is that no community loses there teams unless it’s mutual! Fans will always pay the emotional price in the end!

I was raised a Mets fan, but in my early teen years in the early 1970's, Oakland A's baseball was the class of the game. My dream was to see the Mets in the WS vs the vaunted A's. I got my wish in 1973.

Great broadcast. I cried while watching. Hard to believe my childhood team is no more. Living 15 minutes away from the Coliseum. I used to hear the fireworks go off. My heart is broken. Loyalty hurts sometimes

Sad for the people of Oakland. Even though my hometown of Baltimore now has a modern Championship NFL Team in the Ravens. The Colts were my team. I have never gotten over them moving to Indianapolis. Hang tough, Brodie. Love ya, bro!

Brodie and Bip and stew and townie have all been like friends. Stay in touch. My family and I liked watching the games on TV a lottttt mainly because of you Brodie. Or during the games, thinking “oh I can’t wait to hear what Brodie will say about that” or I wonder what Bip would say to that during a game. Can’t wait to hear your insights.

As a Tigers fans, I cant believe that a team with that much history is leaving. It's just like the Expos in Montreal. I still am very upset at Fisher and MLB as a whole.
