I thought it was just me because there’s so much hate for the character of Kathleen and saying that the actress was a horrible choice and how she can’t act and how it’s the most pointless part of the series that shouldn’t have been added… and I felt so confused. I thought it was only me who understood it and knew why they picked her, it’s like because she doesn’t look and sound like a typical ‘terrifying leader’ they can’t get over it. They also complain on how she’s not a realistic leader and how she’s making bad choices because of revenge and that realistically follow her. It’s like they genuinely don’t understand the people of Kansas city at all. We see how they are in the beginning, do people really think they don’t agree with Kathleen’s want for revenge?

this is definitely one of the more emotional endings. it's also a testament to just how well-made the show is that we can meet henry and sam in the previous ep and already be so invested in their fate. lamar johnson (henry) & keivonn woodard (sam) did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life just to leave me sobbing into my tuna sandwich at their deaths. fun fact: keivonn is actually deaf in real life and he's also a hockey player!

Another detail I noticed and wanted to share: whenever we see Joel glance down at his watch, he’s thinking of Sarah. He does this again when he sees Ellie and Sam playing soccer, because Sarah also used to play soccer (you could see a soccer ball in their kitchen in Episode 1). Lamar Johnson and Keivonn Woodard were so good. While some people doubted the value of adapting a game that was already cinematic in its storytelling, I think they really brought things to the next level with these characters. The final scene was incredibly done and although I didn't have as strong a reaction on my first watch since I knew what was going to happen, in subsequent viewings and replaying TLOU I really appreciate how well they elevated it.

adore both of you 🥺 if this show ever feels like too much, feel free to take a break;; this was definitely one of the hardest parts of the story to get through. and rizzo my heart is with you! i always appreciate both of your transparency, so feel whatever feelings are most natural to you (tears or not) this story is not easy by any means but it always offers some hope at the end which is why it is so beloved, so i hope you can find some comfort/solace amidst its darkness 🧡 sam wasn't deaf in the game and is also younger here, so that made things that much sadder... neither does ellie try and heal him with her blood, because he doesn't tell her about the bite ;--; also that big boy infected is called a bloater!! wish we saw more of them cus its one of the best parts of the game (boss battle and all), but i think they're going for a more realistic/humanistic approach. the next few eps are heartwarming but also fairly heavy as we near the end so fair warning, but we're right here alongside yall!! (and yes rizzo, every action scene you seen is pretty much exactly like the game, which is pretty cool)

The thing I try to hold onto when watching this show are the moments where you see hope and humanity trying to come through. No matter how bleak it gets even Joel has some hope. He invited them to join them on the trip to Wyoming, he wants to have hope. Those moments make the show worth watching for me. I've seen a few clips from one of the later episodes, and I feel like I've seen enough so far that I know it's not going to be any lighter from now on, but it is a really well-done show, and I'm glad to see you guys working through this show because I can finally finish it with you guys. I watched the first three episodes as they came out, until I got really busy with my classes, but it has still taken me this long to recover emotionally enough to watch these last two episodes after you posted your reactions (and Bill and Frank still got to me watching your reactions), and it truly may take me another couple weeks/months before I'm able to handle the next couple, though I might try to go through it this weekend and get it over with instead of dragging the pain out. I know this is a really tough show to get through, especially when you're still dealing with a lot of personal losses, so thank you so much Rizzo and Benji for putting in all of your hard work to watch and react to these episodes, and thank you for putting yourselves through the emotional ringer for us to watch because you absolutely never had to, but I really enjoy your reactions! You guys are very much yourselves, open and honest with your reactions and the connections/references you make, and the vulnerability you show is awesome to watch because I can connect with how both of you react. I'm often more visibly emotional when reading or watching a show/movie, but do not cry or react as much outwardly when dealing with things in my life. This show has had me crying in most episodes, and I don't expect that to change by the end of the season. For this episode: I am almost finished student teaching in a first-grade class and Sam reminded me a lot of some of my school kids, so the end hit me really hard, even though I knew something had to be coming, on top of the feels I have every time something happens with siblings because it hits me as an older sister. I had to stop Black Widow the first time I watched it because the opening scenes got me in the big sister emotions, and this time Henry's reactions got to me. I was about to cry every time Sam and Ellie were having fun, and then I did start crying from the attack until the end. I never thought about them getting attacked/bitten under the vehicle, so when Henry first told Sam to go to sleep, I got mad because he shut the door between them and expected something/one to come in and attack them there. What actually happened was a big surprise, and the "I'm sorry" really broke me.

I also thought that the infected kid that went after Ellie was absolutely terrifying, but it was also kind of funny that Kathleen was taken down by the child after saying that "Kids die, Henry. They die all the time." Plus, it was her obsession with revenge that caused this situation to escalate and cause all of her people to get attacked, and she probably would have been able to escape and survive if she hadn't followed Henry.

You should always let your feelings out when you need to cry. It´s no shame in tears and you never have to explain to anyone why you cry. Since 2020 I´ve lost at least one special individual in my life each year, both my parents last year. Sometimes at the supermarket I need to cry and people look away like I´m the first sad person they´ve ever seen. My point is; Noone knows how much pain anyone else carry. Grief comes with so much loneliness. If you see a sad person, ask if they are ok. A tiny bit of human contact is sometimes all thats needed to feel less alone. I don´t seek sympathy, seems like people think that sometimes. Yes, I carry a lot of grief at the moment, nothing but time and good people around me can fix that. And that goes for all of you who have lost someone close. There is no time limit on grief, talk about your loss, don´t carry the weight alone. Take care of each other! 💜
