To answer your question about the voice actors from the game appearing on the show, I'll just let you know that Troy Baker (Joel), Ashley Johnson (Ellie), and Geoffrey Pierce (Tommy) will appear in future episodes. I won't say what characters they're playing. But since you've just watched this episode, I can tell you that Merle Dandridge (Marlene) is playing her again on the show as well.

Well I have to say it was beautiful to see your reaction to this episode. I would love to see reactions to the Hammer and Bolter anthology series, and perhaps maybe some potential 40k battle report collabs with Bricky and/or Norn Queen Alexis in the near future (preferably with Liv playtesting the World Eaters as she is a rager, eight drops of blood from a World Eater coursing through her circulatory system would work wonders for her).

to be fair there was no EVIDENCE that Joel and Tess were a thing in the game...they flirted and made insinuations...but i think people read too much into that. when you are partners with someone for a long time you become comfy with a certain amount flirtatious talk. i mean before i had a GF i talked to some of my girl friends like that...doesn't mean i slept with them.

10/10 A masterpiece of episodic television. I almost ended up in the wrong side of this argument. I almost ended up giving this episode a poor rating because the Bill and Frank storyline took up too much time and I wanted to be back with Joel and Ellie. Pay no attention to the negative ratings here. There's 2 reasons you're seeing them and I'll address both. 1-People are homophobes. That's as much as I'll address that group because as far as I'm concerned they can crawl right back under the rocks they came from. 2-Fanboys of the videogame complaining this isn't what happened in the game. A marginally valid argument but think that through. Do you want ONLY scenes from the game? Have fun with a show that lasts 4-5 episodes then. Any adaptation, in order to be successful, has to do a certain amount of world building to stand on its own. That's what's happening here. Considering we just saw Tess in a flashback, who's to say we won't see more of Bill and Frank later? And even if we don't, consider the emotional nuance that is driven home in Bill's letter. Him and Joel are so alike in how they view the world and people that the letter gives Joel, the episode, and the show overall a clear emotional center. If y'all can't get that, maybe thoughtful television isn't for you. This show was never going to be the Walking Dead. Also, the game is far more cerebral and emotional than a simple run and gun, cheap jump scare horror game. Do you want the story to keep being told? Then grow up and let it stand on its own two feet.

having only played the first game, I wondered about the casting choice for Ellie. It's not as if there aren't any good 14 year old actresses who could pull off the character. This one is just devoid of soul. I don't believe any emotion she shows. But then I decided to sneak a peek at part 2 (the game) and saw that Ellie is 5 years older in that one. So now it makes sens why they'd cast this girl for the show. They are already preparing to go into part 2 of the game on screen. And it helps that their ages line up almost exactly. Still casting a British actress, though???

It's one thing to talk over the action of the show. It's another to talk over it and turn off its audio so the audience has no chance to know what's being said. I don't know of any other reactors who do that.

There are limitations due to copyright that we can show only small portions of the episodes. And obviously this being a reaction to moments in the episode we try to balance giving some context without showing the entire episode, which we assume the viewers will have watched already and know context. i have nothing against that actress but i feel the lack of accuracy to the original Sarah is just...meh. i don;t feel any connection to that character now because she doesn't look like sarah, she isn't blonde or blue eyed...and that crazy hair style just makes it worse. i mean what is that actresses ethnicity...african-american...mixed race? It doesn't matter in real life of course, i'm not going to judge their race, but in terms of accuracy to the character it does. we associate with characters by being accurate...by seeing the character in the actor. one of the biggest mistakes the uncharted film did was cast Tom holland as nathan drake...he looks too young and he couldn't portray Drake properly according to many fans. the same thing happened in the theatre production of the cursed child in the harry potter series...when they had hermione played by a black woman. there is nothing WRONG with that but it...stands out...in the obvious "we know that isn't accurate" sort of way. it makes you wonder why they make TV series or theatre productions of anything if they can't even maintain a moderate amount of accuracy.
