Honestly, Idk at that point, it depends on how much you resonate with the story and characters. I think for me the connection with the characters is developed through the game play, so I'd encourage it, but only if you feel you may want that connection if you don't already. Also! I love the infected in TLOU, they're so creative and realistic. What I don't like about zombies is the fact that most times, they don't really make sense and they're so overused. But the infected in TLOU are something new, the fungus actually exists and it COULD jump to us humans. They're fast and strong and actually terrifiying. And the design- oh man the design. Don't get me started. To praise this game even more, I loved the 20-years-time-skip! The cities looked amazing, so tragically beautiful. I loved how nature started to regain it's old territory. The plants all over the houses, destroyed streets, buildings that look like they're about to break down... If you didn't like the game's story (which I thought was awesome as well) or the AI or anything else...you have to admit that Naughty Dog created an amazing postapocalyptic world. And I'm glad we're getting more of that.

Zombies eat dead humans too, I've never seen a zombie movie where the zombies wont eat someone just because they are not alive. The clickers don't just bite you, they bite a good chunk of you. They don't just bite and leave either, they kill you if you let them, some even beat you to death, that doesn't help the spread does it? Zombies spread their disease too and they kill you if you don't escape, just like the fungus. there are many types of zombie's and I think this is one of them.

I would say the fungus is more advanced then your basic Virus controlled corpse since it has more than one way of infecting people and if people don't want to call them zombies just because they don't want to, that's their problem, but the characteristics are there. DANtheMANofSIPA zombieland had a similar concept, they said it was like mad cow disease the human version and they weren't quite dead, but they are zombies, they are 100% not the original owner of the body. If your brain dies you're dead! and something else took over your body like so many zombie flicks! They eat people and rip them to shreds! This fungus holds all the cards to be a full fledged zombie! Zombies come in so many colors that its impossible to say that the mushroom zombies don't fit with any of them. What I can tell for sure that is different is that it seems the longer a human is infected by the fungus and is not hurt too badly in its lifespan, it will only get stronger. While Zombies just rot. More realistic zombies I would say since destroying the heart or main arteries can also kill him instead of just the brain like a lot of zombies which is weird because it shouldn't be able to move without blood pumping in the muscles and stuff.

they kind of messed up the clickers. echolocation is based on making sound waves (by clicking for example) and then those sound waves bounce off objects and come back. even if the humans didn't make any noises, the clickers should still be able to locate them (this was not the case in the game, as staying quiet would you hidden even if you were 5 feet away from a clicker). some blind people, as mentioned in the video, find their way with clicking. they don't bump into walls etc., even though walls don't make noise. dolphins and bats locate prey based on the sound waves that bounced back from them, not usually by actually hearing them. however, this doesn't really matter that much, and shouldn't really ruin the game, the game was amazing. i'm just putting this info out there

In a way you are correct. The walking dead zombies are due to a modern day definition we have given them since what George Romero did with his movies. Zombie also refers to a human under voodoo magic. So yes these infected are NOT zombies in that sense, but they are zombies in a way that their humanity is lost and are now monsters. Like the 28 Days Later infected are NOT zombies but their humanity is lost too making them zombies in the way of being monsters.

They are actually alive for real and this fungus just basically take over all the functions of a body and even changes them. Its realistic, they said for bloaters it took a LONG time for them to mutate, and for the runners that was the first stage. Over the course of 20 years with the population of the world there really only would be about 3000-4000 bloaters, 9000+ clickers, and the rest runners. If you look at it from a technical point of view its actually quite realistic.

Clickers are without a doubt the most frightening enemy I've encountered in my gaming experience, aside from David. Even with Shiv Master, if you don't hit it quick enough its a one hit kill. And they're pretty much bullet sponges. Hell, bloaters are easier to kill by conventional means.

Actually they don't die they slowly go crazy and the fungus takes over the brain Eli said it herself and the makers of the game said "We came up with the idea of the monsters from a fungus called cordyceps" btw if you don't believe look it up yourself, And they said "When we thought of the infected we thought of not a zombie but a different type of monster" So there you have it if you had any problems with what i said reply and say so HAVE A NICE DAY.

I really liked the idea of having it be a fungal infection! It makes a lot of sense as well, for multiple fungi can take over an insect or other animal with a not very complex brain (ex. ants)

There's a book kind of like this called the fungus/deadly spores by harry knight I think. Read it a long time ago.
