Unpopular opinion, but the second game is my favourite. Such great story, awesome new characters, a much wider and diverse environment (as you noted even from the trailer). It's 10/10. Also, there's a chance we'll get the series in January, so let's hope so.

Diamond Dave, don’t forget-we got the winter chapter between Episodes 6-8 in Season 1 (reuniting with Tommy-David). Catherine O’Hara is playing Joel’s (much needed) therapist. That look of contempt on Ellie’s face when Joel sees her from the porch hurt my heart. I’m sure their relationship will have changed, knowing we know that Ellie knows Joel lied to her about the Fireflies. That love in Joel’s eyes for Ellie is totally Pedro’s love for Bella-their off-screen friendship is so pure. Those two deserve those Emmys!

Ellie isn't being recast, the actress you recognised Kaitlyn Dever is playing a new chracter. Jeffrey Wright is playing the same character he voiced in the game like Merle Dandridge (Marlene) did in Season 1. Eliie gets a tattoo on her right arm to hide her Cordyceps bite from people.

Plus it wouldn’t make sense having a different actress for the same time jump we see with Ellie when they haven’t recast Bella.

I agree with Quinn. Its the characters who are driving the story, but still more monsters would be great. Ironically the traditional monsters in shows like this don't really seem like THE monsters of the show. Like the preacher in season 1. He's arguably must more a monster than any mindless infected. Shows like this do the job of kinda holding up a mirror to us to ask us "when shit gets crazy, are you gonna be the person Mr. Rogers believed you could be...or you gonna be the monsters."

Ill still leave my comment) It'd be really really cool if one of you played the game on your gaming channel and three of you went into the show blind with no spoilers (I lean towards Oak playing because our boy loves lessons). Be VERY careful fellas with spoilers with this one, don't look up anything, turn off TLOU2 notifications & don't read comments without a moderator (another reason one of you playing the game would be a smart idea) And whoever plays the game MUST have a good poker face for when you watch the show 😂 TLOU2 is the best video game I have ever played hands down. It beats Red Dead, it beats God of War, in story it demolishes them all. A story that can move me like this one did and make me question myself on an introspective level has major power. I cannot wait to see this and next season and hear the discussions that happen because of it. ❤

4:45 this is quite funny because kaitlyn dever was a HUGE fan cast of Ellie before there was even a show in the works. People have considered kaitlyn as a live action Ellie for so long they very extremely hated on Bella for getting the role. In fact, they still bully Bella for being Ellie and say they should have recast her for Kaitlyn. So many short sighted people for sure but I’m really excited to see Kaitlyn in her cast role because she, like Bella, are phenomenal at the characters she plays!

In the game, there was a 4 year time jump between part 1 and part 2, and the actress who plays Ellie, though she is a great actress, just isn't portrayed to have aged at all. The young girl escaping the runners at the fence line also is SUPER young compared to the game as well. Not sure how I feel about it, but it still looks true to the story so I'm hopeful!

The reason that the infected are faster and stronger than regular people is because cordyceps has taken control of their nervous system. They aren't affect by the limitations of pain that prevents the body from exceeding its limits. They don't feel pain or react to cold and heat like you or I would. The cordyceps just drives them to spread itself and nothing else matters. The people no longer eat or drink but they are in fact being used by the cordyceps as a food source. Eventually the host is used up and the infected person seeks out a dark place to die like the one that Joel and Tess found in the first episode down in the subway entrance. That's what the one that attacked Ellie and Riley was doing in the mall until they woke it up. This is why bloaters come from people that were in life large and strong and able to survive being infected long enough to become a bloater.

The Last of Us Part 2 is basically the Schindler's List of video games.. Its extremely dark and brutal, (With a lot of beauty in the cracks) but its a masterpiece. Still to this day its the best experience I've ever had with a piece of media. An absolute masterpiece, surpassing the first.

A part of me was hoping you play TLOU2 before you watch this one because some of the gameplay is so heavily affected because of the story but that’s all good, can’t wait to see how this season will portray the events of the game and how y’all will react to it. However, I’m still looking forward to the reaction because I would love to see reactors that have played and haven’t played the game, I think it’d be cool to see how both sides would react. If this season portrays most of the main events of the game, this is going to be a very heavy, emotional, and dark season.
