Or hopefully even fucking w/ the OG structure like they did in season 1, and having both characters “Day1” start around the same point in the season. I feel like re-arranging that point in the game different could help translate it better for people who didn’t enjoy originally. Some of those people can’t be saved (the actually hateful weirdos, iykyk), but I feel like a lot of people’s enjoyment fell through bc of the structure. I personally loved it and loved that harsh contrast, but I dooo kinda get how it could be offputting for others.

They hopefully don't make the exact same mistake. People hated that 'sudden' switch of protagonist. It particularly didn't work well as a game as you're forced to play as Abby, and while it may translate better to TV I would not run such a risk with the fandom

Wonder if anyone realized that after the infected got shot by Joel saving Abby… that it was the same sound effect for the rest of the trailer that was used when Abby hits Joel with the golf club in the game while Ellie is watching. It gave me chillsssss

man, playing through TLOU2 with my sister is one of my fondest memories. Seeing it brought SO faithfully to life (to the point where i can tell you what most of the buildings she walks past in that town are) is so heartwarming. most of these were shots taken straight from the game. druckmann and co REALLY got it right.

The trailer was absolutely beautiful Part II has a lot of people divided, but regardless of the story choices they made for certain characters, I still love both games equally. Part II especially just displays so much raw human emotion and I loved getting to know Abby while also exploring Ellie’s grief and her pursuit of vengeance across Seattle. I really really hope the show can pull off a good adaptation of Part II, I don’t want 60 hours of gameplay and story stuffed into 8 hours of TV plzzzz

If she does a great job with the character emotionally and performance-wise it’s understandable to let that aspect slide a bit

Of course they can extend the second game. That was double to length and they could easily explore the small stuff they skipped in the first game. Depending how they split it, they may get the same reaction as us who played the game. At first, we were not really into the second half, but looking back, it was a pretty good story.

I have a feeling this is going to be the Walking Dead season 7-moment for The Last of Us and its success is going to be short-lived. Think Westworld. I have two reasons for saying this: The first one is obvious to anyone who has played the game. Something happens that's very similar to the controversial moment from The Walking Dead that lost it a ton of viewers. Sportsware is involved in both. And, two, they're talking about dragging out the second game into possibly three seasons? I know The Last of Us Part 3 probably won't come out until like 2028 or 2029 and they probably don't want to put the show on ice until then but this is drawing even more parallels to The Walking Dead season 7 for me. The Negan stuff from the comics was some of the best material, but they ruined the adaptation by trying to drag it out several seasons. The Last of Us seasons aren't 16 episodes long, so maybe two seasons for Part 2 is warranted, but three is pushing it.
