Awesome stuff. Going through some bladder issues. Fortunately, I think, my urologist directed me to PFPT and they have me doing some bladder retraining which feels like in large part it is a physcological thing. They have a physical explanation tied to brain. Ultimately, I have to remind my body not to freak out every time I feel the urge and I don't really need to go. Just a week of working on that and I already have way less anxiety and don't feel crippled by that urgency. Still a ways to go I think to let the symptoms fade and let go of my anxious fear they will return at a bad time.

Sounds like you are removing the fear and not instantly reacting to your body's patterned response of "urgency." Way to go!

Love this! I found your page almost a year ago due to pelvic pain and I was doing the night time stretches for quite some time. Then I found some TMS practitioners that mentioned, like you said, that PT shouldn’t be targeted towards taking symptoms away. But what if I am doing your pelvic pain stretching videos to relieve pelvic pain? Would that create, in the mind of a TMS believer, a negative feedback loop?
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth Жыл бұрын
Hey there! So...you can still do stretches to bring your body some relief in the moment. It's good to move your body and do things that help you to feel better. Just know that the tension/body is not what is creating your pain. Your brain is. Your brain is doing this to protect you from something deeper. As long as you still do the emotional work and look deeper inside of yourself, it's fine. Just don't turn them into a fixing activity, or a necessity to "be okay." Hope that helps!

@@TransformPelvicHealth it is like a weird twist of fate that your videos a year ago got me through so much of my pelvic pain symptoms (especially the urinary urgency). Then when I found TMS videos…it was almost like an “aha” moment. I’m still going through the journey but I’m very appreciate of this short series and the stretch videos you released these last few years. I am eternally grateful.

I’m in a relationship with someone who has anger issues from their own past trauma and the anger is really triggering to me. The last six months I have pelvic pain every day and the mindbody approach is helping, but will I never get better in a relationship where I feel in these moments unsafe? It’s so hard because I love this person, but I can’t deal with the pain. I’ve had my body symptoms my whole life because of an abusive brother. I don’t know what to do !!? It’s so hard to leave someone I love that I’ve been with such a long time, but I can’t take confrontation 😢 any advice on this? ❤

Hey there, This is a challenging moment in your life, but one day, you'll actually look back with gratitude. You are clearly being shown that prioritizing YOU, via self-loving actions is most important. Unconditional love and respect are everything. If someone is not meeting you there, you should consider talking with them about it, or leaving the relationship. It sounds like these situations are teaching you how to confront from a place of love, rather than being complicit from a place of fear. You don't have to end a relationship to get better. But you do need to let go of the fear of needing to do so. Of speaking up. Of providing safety to YOU. I'll be here for you, Michael

Hi Michael thank you so much for your beautiful reply 😊 I tried speaking up but I realised I’m dealing with a narcissist that will never validate my feelings or pain so I made the decision to leave for good! I really hope I can get over this urethra pain now with all your information.. so horrible! Appreciate your work ❤

@jennaishere I can fully relate. I have been in relationships with narcissists my entire life. I'm like a magnet. I was in a 17 year relationship with one and that is when my first symptoms began. I finally left him only to continue to unknowingly repeat this pattern and dated 2 more narcissists. It was in the beginning of my last relationship my pelvic pain literally exploded. I left him 2 years ago and haven't dated since. Our mind and body feels and absorbs their negativity and pure toxicity. Only someone who has been subjected to this can truly understand. Good for you for leaving,. Our mind and bodies just need some time to recover. Stay strong and don't ever go back. Keep focusing on yourself and practice self love if you haven't before. Make yourself and your well being your priority now

That's most likely the awareness that your tension is releasing, yes.

Is it like facing the symptoms without reacting or giving any emotion ?
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth 5 ай бұрын
On the one hand, we don't want to react. Your body is safe, there is no damage being done. On the other hand, the symptoms are actually a message from your subconscious. They are there to tell you that something needs to change. There is an emotion that needs to be felt. Or a choice to make. Or something to let go of. To love yourself more in some way.

non-reaction helps, but you also want to hear the deeper messages

I dont get it. If there is tension in the pelvic floor even though the brain caused it shouldnt one try to address the tension in the pelvis. I understand pain is created in the brain but symptoms like urinary urge, hesitancy are result of tension. I dont see how brain can cause those symptoms
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth 8 ай бұрын
Yes, the brain does cause tension and urinary urge, if you study the nervous system. You need to address the root cause AND do things that help you feel better. So stretches can be relieving, but they don't actually cure the cause of the situation.
