I remember at the start of my journey a few years ago watching your stretching videos. I went with the physical route doing stretches and pelvic pt with no long lasting relief. Started mind body and things come and go, but way more hopeful and working out again. Feel like I have my life back again. Love seeing someone that was so in the physical realm transition to mind body, gives your voice credibility and relatability

Cool Travis. Thanks for sharing that. Yes, I was more mechanically-minded years back and had mind-body tools on the side; now they are the main course.

I’ve been dealing with testicular and perineum pain for about 3 months. I’ve had stomach issues and anxiety attacks during that same timeframe which I’ve never had before. Doctors say I’m fine, urologist says I’m fine, yet I don’t feel fine. Maybe finding this show is exactly what I needed. Just wanted to say thanks for giving me some hope!

Gosh, sorry to hear that you are going through this! Yes, all of those symptoms definitely add up to mind body syndrome (being neuroplastic). Things will change. Follow the path and give yourself time.

Really glad to see you continue to shine the Mind- Body light on this issue. About 5 years ago, after coming across the work of Howard Schubiner and others, i started to view CPPS (and other issues like IBS and CFS) through the lens of neuroplastic pain. These so-called "syndromes" have not disappeared completely but tend to be less intense episodes, and seeing the Mind Body aspects gives me a welcomed bit of space, perseverance and even moxy sometimes That said, i still use your stretching videos as they also help. No single cure all, but looking at the full toolkit and seeing things for what they really are sure helped me.

Thank you for your openness and sincerity in passing on your experience and knowledge for healing. Your experiences as a boy strikes a chord with me. I had chronic enuresis, or inability to control my bladder, until age 14. Of course I was just given meds which did not help. The cause was trauma of chronic abuse from my father. I have continued to have problems until diagnosis CPTSD, Dissociation and Autism at age 58. Trauma therapy, regular primal, yoga and callisthenic exercise has helped me feel more in touch with mind and body connection. For 2 weeks I have had pelvic pain, and am wary of seeing a regular doctor . I have found a functional medicine doctor who I hope will rule out any serious conditions and help me continue the hard work I have done in healing from profound early boyhood sexual, physical ( age 1 to 8) and emotional traumas from all of my family and society's bigoted treatment of child abuse and autism.

This podcast is very close to my story. Been dealing with this on and off for approx 20 years. Would get flare-ups every year or two and they’d last several months. I feel very sorry for people who deal with chronic pain on a daily basis. It’s been a journey and your channel has been a tremendous help. - Started with the docs saying it was an STD even though I knew it wasn’t. They tested me and found no infection so they called it “prostatitis” and gave me Cipro. It was the same story each time. Cipro worked in the beginning but about 5 yrs ago antibiotics stopped fixing the flare-ups and the pain became focused in the perineum. - Acupuncture helped but never fixed it. - It got so bad that I went to a urologist. He told me that it was my prostate and I needed to have it stapled open so it would stop pushing on my urethra. - Luckily one of your episodes talked about other options before I got stapled. I decided to do physical therapy for 6 months and improved greatly. - Was always an afraid of a flare-up. My self-realized prophesy came true about a month ago with the start of a flare up 2 weeks prior to the family vacation. - I immediately went back to PT and got better just in time for vacation. While on vacation I broke my rule and checked my emails. A few got me fired up and the pain started to return. At that point I had the epiphany that it was a brain issue and not physical. I’ve always noticed that flare-ups come when in times of high stress but I thought you had to fix it with physical solutions. I was blessed to see your recommendation to read The Way Out by Alan Gordon. It’s a game-changer! I’m taking it slow and really reading the book (I’m a skimmer) but it’s already making a huge difference. I’m prepared for future flare-ups but no longer stressed because I know of if I follow the fear-reducing techniques in the book that I’ll be fine. I also continue to do the exercising and stretching because it benefits me beyond the pelvic pain. To all that suffer from this or any other chronic pain please read The Way Out. You don’t need to suffer any longer.

Hey there, Thanks for taking the time to chronicle your journey, and sharing takeaways. It really helps others!! Yes, this is brain-created. It is so good that you have evidence. The Way Out is a fantastic, eye-opening, simple approach to providing safety to your brain. If you still have some symptoms, consider some of the emotional and habitual mental pattern root cause elements, which are not as well discussed in that book. Let me know how I can help! Thanks, Michael

I’m Jake times 10…I’ve been dealing with all the pain you described for Jake since 2008. I’m 41 now and It’s progressively gotten worse (my pelvic floor muscles are extremely tight) since 08 but it got incredibly tight in 2019. Since that time I get extreme pain in my perenium the moment I start to get an erection. On days I can get pass that pain, the moment I ejaculate I have extreme pain in my rectum/perenium. A doctor recently told me my body is more than likely stuck in a Fight mode. Researching along those lines I came across your video. I’ll be watching all 6 parts. Thank You for this

Happy to help! Definitely go through the full podcast, and I would encourage you to do the Overcome program as well. You will be quite surprised at how directly it will take you "inward" to the root causes, which is what is required in a situation like this, when you have such chronicity. Things really do get better! :)

You’ve just described exactly what I’ve been dealing with since March 2022. Between then and end of 2023 I’ve had significant improvement, but it’s still present. Some things flare it up. Some things make it feel better. I’ve learned to deal with it and even didn’t let it prevent me from traveling last year and doing things I dreamed of doing. I chose to not let it prevent me from living rather than let it control me. I’m still uncomfortable but I’m improving.

@TransformPelvicHealth 8 ай бұрын
This is a structural phenomenon in your body, at the same time, it may not have to lead to pain and symptomology. The mind-body approach is always useful, even when you have a structural element at play. If you need some biomedical intervention for the calcification, you could get some help there, while also using this process.

Can the pelvic floor and groin pain be the cause of low urine flow? All of that is interconnected? I'm 33 and it’s almost 8 months and there is no clear diagnosis.
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth 3 ай бұрын
Low urine flow can happen due to pelvic floor tension, which can also tighten the sphincters associated with urination. You will want to look at the root causes that are leading to tension/upregulated nervous system, like we go over in the podcast. Especially if doctors are not finding a structural cause.

Being able to feel comes first, that is true. Once you can access your emotions, you can then let them move through you and let them go. I just had a client who was blocking their emotions completely and then it all came through...years of tears and laughter...and they are feeling significantly different now. I'd recommend my August retreat in Canada as well if you can attend.

I watched the entire 6 episodes. This isn't the last pelvic podcast that you need. Yes, there is a lot of information about letting go and dealing with your emotions. However, since Michael is not a doctor, there isn't much information on dealing with the undiagnosed medical problems that are lumped into CPPS unless you think it is 100% linked to your emotions. That being said, this might save you a trip to a therapist. Otherwise, it is constant rambling on-and-on about the same thing. I did like your stretching technique videos.
@TransformPelvicHealth
@TransformPelvicHealth 9 ай бұрын
Hi there, Thanks for watching the series, and I thank you for sharing your perspective. The main aspect of this podcast is to point out that "the medical problems that are lumped into CPPS" is a cloudy, misperception of CPPS itself. The fact is, there are rarely medical problems when CPPS symptoms do present. Although many people believe that there must be, due to the severity of the sensations, these are typically created to to neural circuit pain/dysfunction. There are some cases in which there is a disease pathology at play, which is why the assessment in this podcast is very thorough in making sure you get appropriate diagnostic checks, before continuing on with the presented path. I've worked with over 1,000 men with CPPS issues, which is most likely more than a great deal of urologists have seen (as they don't specialize in this area, or have specific training in a multi-factorial treatment approach), and this information has been created and provided to you via internal data collection and a kaizen-like application of betterment, via real-life cases. Thanks again, and take care! -Michael
