I just watched a recent interview with her. She expressed a lot of personal pain in her private life. She’s been through more than most people would even realize. She’s even sworn off wearing tons of glamorous makeup like she used to. She’s embracing her aging at 57, I believe. She seems really humble and down to earth unlike Hollywood and television portrayed her in the 90s. This trailer is reminiscent of what we saw from Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler and Brendan Fraser in The Whale. I I have been following the Oscars for 40 years and something about this trailer gives me the same vibes I’ve seen in the past. I have nothing to lose rooting for her.

⁠@@seannanana84I have to agree with phevelous on that. Horror is never a category in the Oscar’s and performances get overlooked. Take Toni Collette in hereditary, that was an Oscar winning performance. But the academy dosent look at horrors. And I agree, Kathy bates won a well deserved Oscar in an amazing film but I would personally class misery as more as a ‘thriller’ but I agreee it has aspects of horror. TBH it’s a shame that some categories don’t get taken seriously. Xx
