the Best Actress race is so competitive this year that it’ll be impossible for me to narrow it down to a final 5, much less the Academy.
@nonid562720 күн бұрын
@@anitavirginillo Yes she did do it all on her own. But there is such a thing as Oscar campaigning. The work may be stellar but JLC is helping to get Pam’s performance seen. Much akin to Everywhere, Everything, All at Once. Smaller films are less likely to be seen by the voters of the Academy. JLC is helping with that. Don’t dash having a fellow woman in your corner.

It's funny how Pamela reminded me so much of Marilyn in this interview. I never really associated them that much but seeing her stripped back, hearing the tone of her voice, the light in her eyes after realizing she is actually being credited for her talented and recognized as more than just a beautiful lady makes me feel a full circle energy, sort of as if Marilyn had been alive longer, she could've gone through this legit and fulfilling recognition she always craved for, and Pamela is getting for herself now. Older Black actresses that are in Pam’s shoes are being attacked online for saying similar stuff but not one “we’re all beautiful” or “we’re all special” comment insight like it is when a BW receives praise. ME too. I used to feel like I couldn't leave the house without makeup, starting as a young teenager to my mid 40's and now 50. Started working from home and my eyes were getting so irritated from my eye makeup, I just stopped wearing it altogether. So many of us have been brainwashed that we need it to feel beautiful. Pam has served the industry as a bombshell and glad she is feeling good no makeup, on her own and living with her dogs. So many times, show biz eats up someone like her and spits her out. The fact that it's taken 40 yrs for Ms Anderson to find a vehicle fitting of her real talent says a great deal about Hollywood and how they pigeon hole all actors. Her personal journey and choices over the decades have done more to create who she is today than she is given credit for, as her new journey is just the next phase of life. All of us in the boomer age are looking at mortality and what we want to leave as our gift to humanity. She, and Ms. Curtis, are defining themselves as actors that are willing to continue to elevate their craft in an age where time is more of a commodity.

So you have no real pictures of yourself? That is sad. When you look at yourself in the mirror, you're are looking far longer than anyone else looks at you. You are looking for blemishes and flaws. When other people look at you, they tend to look at your beauty. If make-up makes you look good, then you look good without it.
@lavenberry22 күн бұрын
@northernsnow6982 No, I don't. If you read what I wrote, you can clearly see that I go makeup free all the time, but my face looks washed out if I don't add a pop of color before going in front of a camera.
@northernsnow698222 күн бұрын
@lavenberry I did read your comment, and not once did it say you feel washed out in pictures. So, I don't know how I was supposed to come to that "clear" conclusion. It is sad that you have to feel that way, and I feel sorry for you. Maybe try learning how to pose to give your face a more refined look. Also, the way the picture is taken can make a difference, too. To say you can't go to work or on camera without make-up is just a confidence thing. Something that if you work on it, you can manage. You just need someone to help you appreciate the way you look. Hopefully, you find that person some day.
