Let's see... My least picked would be the following: 1. Squirtle- I'm just not big on turtles 2- Chikorita- we all know why 3. Treecko- it just doesn't have that certain "wow factor" for me like mudkip and torchic 4. Turtwig- again, I just don't care for turtles 5. Tepig- I think tepig itself is cute, but that quickly goes away once it evolves 6. Froakie/chespin- this one was a toss-up. While I adore chespin's design, I have no fondness for its evolutions, even if it was my first starter when I first played gen 6. As for froakie, well... I absolutely hate greninja's design, so I have no reason to pick this bubble frog. 7. Rowlett- I have no real definite reason why. 8. Grookie- I dunno, I always found this guy a bit boring design wise. 9. Quaxly- I know a lot of people adore this guy, but I cannot stand it, especially its evolutions.

​@MoonlarkSpirits I'd say Serperior is the most competitive gen 5 starter though. The other two starters haven't done much competitively. Emboar did have some showings early on before it fell off hard, and Samurott basically never did anything. Serperior got a big boost in Contrary as it's hidden ability, so it did at least have an interesting niche. Firing off a 130 BP Leaf Storm that also Nasty Plots you is pretty cool

1- Bulbasaur (I was a Charizard kid, grew to be more into Blaistoise. With that being said, Bulbasaur and Ivysair have amazing designs, just don't really like Venusaur) 2- Chikorita (I do like Chikorita, it just had tough competition) 3- Mudkip (Treecko is one of my all times favorite, and Torchic is usually my secondary option. Sorry Mudkip) 4- Turtwig (Actually surprising how many grass starters are my least used, considering how it's my favorite overall starter type. But yeah I've always been a fan of Piplup.) 5- Tepig (Snivy is great, Oshawott is charming, Tepig is just kinda there) 6- Chespin (I actually grew to like it more over time, but when you have a witch pokemon, I'm going to use the witch pokemon) 7- Litten (I actually played Sun and Moon three times, and each time I used a different starter. I did enjoy my Litten playthrough, but I overall prefer Rowlett and Popplio.) 8- Grookey (The grass starter tends to either be my favorite or least favorite, I guess) 9- Fuecoco (Cats are the cutest thing in the world, Donald Duck was my childhood icon, Fuecoco is just kinda there)

I usually just go with the coolest looking and other pokemon I want to put on my team. The starters I've chosen for playthroughs were: Litten-Sun, Turtwig-Diamond, Chespin/Squirtle(wanted to use Talonflame and for Serena to have Delphox)-X, Mudkip-Omega Ruby, Fuecoco-Scarlet, and Grooky-Sword. And for anyone who wants to know, here's the ones I've never used, but would if I had the games: Bulbasaur, Totodile, Tepig, and Rowlet(Hissui).

Lots of Grass Types are either early game fodder or simply overmatched. Pokemon like Bulbasaur and Torterra steamroll through an entire playthrough and are too good to pass up. Fire Types aren't as abundant as Water or Grass Types. But of course, Greninja is one of my favorite Pokemon, and Primarina has a good typing. For Gen 5 I've NEVER used Tepig before. I picked Oshawott once because I like Samurott's design, but aside from that one instance I always pick Serperior. Though he gets outclassed by Lilligant on BW playthroughs, Serperior is simply my favorite pokemon. Also, shoutout to Serperior for being one of the few Pokemon to utterly abuse the Stellar typing in Gen 9

Least picked: 1. Squirtle - The other two are more interesting plus I like some of the other water types more. 2. Totodile - I was never into gators or crocodiles, and even if Chilorita sucks, there's nostalgia value for me as Chikorita was my first ever pick for Johto and it provides a challenge when I want one. 3. Treecko - The design never appealed to me as much as the others. 4. Turtwig - Honestly... It's always been too unattractive aesthetically for me. 5. Tepig - Same as above but worse. Aesthetics are extremely important to me. 6. Chespin - 😅 ... The design never resonated. 7. Rowlet - Adorable starter, but I like cats and seals way better. 8. Grookey - Not a fan of monkeys. In gen 4, Chimchar got a pass because it became incredibly cool looking and was so useful. Grookey doesn't cut it in Galar. 9. Quaxly - It's ok and the evolution is so sassy, but again, CATS hold my heart and the design of Skeledirge has so many intriguing layers that Quaxky falls short. Edit: PLA is Rowlet again. I prefer the beastly Samurott and Typhlosion (the weird leaks can stuff it) with the sad shaman look resonates with me more than the autumnal archer.

I mostly agree with your picks, aside from Charmander and Sprigatito. Those two are my most picked out of their trios. I think Treecko might be my least picked Hoenn Starter, but it's only by a bit, since it's the one Starter trio, where I like all three equally. And I also like Popplio's line over Rowlet's, but still agree with Litten being least picked, due to my disappointment with Incineroar. With Galar, Scorbunny's line is the only one I really like, so the other two go unchosen by me, tbh.

My list for least used starter is 1.Squirtle - I love all of them, but I used Squirtle the least. 2. Cyndaquil - I've never liked the Cyndaquil line till Hisuian Typlosion, and even still, I'm not the biggest fan. 3. Mudkip - I don't like Mudkip, I love its evolutions but base form Mudkip is meh. Marshtomp is cuter until its 3D model. 4. Piplup - Opposite to Mudkip, where I love Piplup but don't like its evolutions or at least compared to Chimchar and Turtwig. Plus, Pearl was my first game, and I grew up with the DP anime (the objective best season of the show) and I loved the development Ash's Chimchar and Turtwig, and Dawn's Piplup went through. 5. Tepig - I love Tepig and Pignite but hate Emboar. 3rd Fire Fighting starter with the worst design between them and the 2nd Chinese inspired Pokemon in a row. Infernape is my favorite Pokemon of all time, and he's a Pokemon based on Chinese mythology more accurately "Journey to the West". Emboar comes from THE EXACT same mythology and story as Infernape does. They could have chosen any other mythology, but why repeat Chinese immediately after one of the most beloved starter Pokemon came a Gen prior. 6. Chespin - I LOVE Chespin, and despite the fact that I started with him during my first X playthrough, I hate its evolutions. Chesnaught is the 2nd ugliest final starter evolution ever. 7. I used and love them all equally. But if I had to choose a least favorite, it is probably the Litten line. 8. Sobble - I hate the whole evolution line. Intellion is the ugliest final starter evolution ever. The connection makes no sense. A shy kid turns into an emo kid, who turns into a Spy?! 9. Same as Gen 7, but my least favorite is probably Spragatito.

I've been playing pokemon games since the beginning. Dropping my personal faves. gen1: Charmander (my OG choice w/ Pokemon Red, cuz of the red dragon looking creature on the box art) - then hello 'Hard Mode'. No shame to the other two, as I also really like Squirtle as well, but Bulbasaur is pretty much the Easiest in Kanto story mode. gen2: Totodile - and ofc, Chikorita least picked (Crystal Legacy romhack from SmithPlays Pokemon has a version with dual-type starters, and Bayleef/Meganium received Dragon typing...) gen3: hands down Mudkip. least fav, Torchic, because of its lack of use back in the OG gen3 games and its movepool. gen4: Chimchar, least fav had to be Piplup. possibly due to just overall design of the final evo's gen5, I have no outright favorite or least favorite. neither of the 3 stand above the others... gen6: Froakie, least fav, Chespin. Chesnaught just screamed, 'Nope' gen7: Litten, least fav was Popplio. my first run of Alola, i kept Torracat from evolving, in spite of using it, naming it after my own orange tabby. gen8: Grookey, least fav, Sobble. Inteleon just looked meh to me. Sniper is cool though. Gen9: Fuecoco, least fav, Quaxly... had Quaquaval's flippers not become whatever the heck monstrosity like toes they are... among other design quirks....

As I've been getting back into Pokémon recently, I've been genuinely shocked by how many people seem to hate Delphox. Not only is it my favorite starter, it's my favorite Pokémon design full stop. As for my least favorite, I could be deliberately controversial and say Greninja (its tongue weirds me out) but I don't really dislike it anywhere near as much as I do Emboar or the Chespin line. I'm also not crazy about the 3 Hisuian regional evolutions. I don't think they're bad designs or anything, I just don't think starters should get regional variants. It messes with the Pokédex order in a way that I find extremely irritating. I have a minor grudge against Victini for that same reason.

RB: Charmander. I've played these games so many times, but I think I usually pick Squirtle or Bulbasaur, or just don't use my starter GSC: Cyndaquil. Likewise, I've played these countless times, but Feraligatr is my favorite of the three and Meganium is pretty even though it sucks RSE: Torchic. Again, countless times. This is literally just a guess DPP: Turtwig. For the last time, I've played these too many times to count. Empoleon is my favorite of the three and Infernape is the best choice BW: Snivy. I haven't played these games nearly as much despite being my favorite generation. Snivy was my original starter and my favorite of the three, but I've simply chosen it less XY: Chespin. Fennekin is my favorite starter and Braixen is my favorite Pokémon, so it's usually what I pick. I think I've used Chespin once and Froakie twice SM: Litten. I hate these games, but love most of the Pokémon. Really just comes down to hating Incineroar because of competitive SS: Scorbunny. I think I've only used my starter twice in all of my playthroughs, so i just haven't used Scorbunny LA: Rowlett. I've only played the game twice, and I haven't chosen Rowlett yet SV: Sprigatito. Only played twice. I did try to shiny hunt Sprigatito though, but gave up after 2000~ eggs

Mudkip/Torchic (I love geckos, and before all the Mudkip fans come at my throat, yes i know Swampert can solo the whole game. Sceptile is just cooler) 4. Chimchar (he was my first pick in Pearl, but overtime i started liking Turtwig and Piplup more) 5. Snivy (i really like the design of Serperior, i just don't wanna use it. Always picked Tepig) 6. Fennekin/Froakie (i like Delphox's design but i can't stand Greninja's. This isn't because of how popular he is, i just never liked the design, especially that stupid tongue scarf) 7. I can't really have a "least picked" starter as I typically only play more recent games once and the earlier games I didn't change from my initial starter much if ever, but my fav/picked starters were: Character, Chikorita (tho I would choose Cyndaquil now), Torchic (my fav starter), Piplup (this gen I did try all the starters at least once, my first being chimchar), Oshawatt, Fenniken, Rowlett, Scorbunny, and Sprigatito. I tend to gravitate toward fire types unless the design is cuter cuz I like how powerful fire type moves feel to use lol.

Tied between Charmander and Bulbasaur, I equally like them and pick them (not at much as squirtle), but if I had to choose it be Charmander 2. Cyndaquil (chikorita is my fav and I always pick totodile so) 3. Treeko, idk I’m fond of mudkip, and I’ve picked tochic a lot too, treeko is just there for me 4. Chimchar, same reasoning as Treeko, fond of piplup, and fan of turtwig 5. Tepig I mean oshawot is my fav of the base forms and surpirior is goated 6. Chespin. Froakie is not that far behind tho 7. For me, I either like all of them or none of them. That happened so many times. Gens 1 (not counting Pikachu, as you cannot "choose" it) and 3: liked all. Gen 2 and 5: liked none. Gen 4: liked 2 and disliked 1 (Torterra). My least picked in Gen. 1 is Charmander, too. Because I like the other 2 just more. Gen 2.: Chikorita Gen 3.: Treecko Gen. 4: Turtwig Gen. 5: probably Oshawott. Haven't played the other games. But I have an opinion about Gen. 6 and my least favourite might be Chespin. However, considering how busted Greninja was at the time, I might have picked this one the least just out of principle.

Least Favs: 1. Charmander (evo line is too simple and Zard is forever over popular) 2. Cyndaquil (design choice is least attractive) 3. Treecko (very unique, but too unique) 4. Chimchar (this was nearly impossible, but Infernape is a little too overwhelming) 5. Snivy (always thought it was way too much like Treecko, repetitive design) 6. Chespin (decent Pokémon, but shouldn’t have been a starter. The others are more attractive) 7. Litten (offers the least in excitement when it comes to battle & design) 8. Grookey (Rillaboom’s sudden aggressive nature and design is the Stop sign) 9. Fuecoco (Skeledirge is way too cookie cutter designed, doesn’t look as natural as the others) Arceus: Cyndaquil (why did they give Typh the lazy look?)

My Least Used were Gen 1 : Blastoice is a little too simplistic and kinda boring for my taste, and lack of a second type didn't help it , it is still good Pokémon but not interesting or intriguing as the others Gen 2 : Meganium kinda useless in battling but I am glad it got the spotlight in Snap Gen 3 : Swampert honestly that is really close Sceptile is my favorite but I used Blaziken in XY so yeah still I like Swampert and think is cool maybe in a Hoehn Go game I might use it Gen 4 : Infernape I always played platinum with Empoleon and sometimes with Infernape but I used Torterra and Empoleon during LA and Shining Pearl way much more so yeah also I am not a fan of monkeys in general so yeah Gen 5 well that is complicated I chose Emboar for both BW and BW2 , I shiny hunted Samurott in Arceus and used it along Typhlosion but right now I lean towards Serperior it is my least used but I want to use it more but I also want Shiny Emboar so I would say regular Samurott is my least favorite Gen 6 Delphox It looks kinda weird to me at least Braixen is cute though I need to say it that I hate and absolutely despise Ash-Grenninja and didn't like XYZ still better than SM anime which was kinda trash Gen 7 Primarina looks to girly for a Pokémon that 87,5% Male and don't like it at all Gen 8 Rillaboom same as Infernape I don't like apes monkeys or gorillas (Except King Kong) but yeah I find the Monkey memes kinda stupid and it gives me hypno vibes which kinda grosses me out Legends Arceus I chose Typhlosion but used Samurott and Decideye as well I would say I used Decideye the least because of its typing but still I liked a lot Gen 9 Skelliderge looks cool but I hate that is a singer I mean how it sounds like an alligator which is not singing and like more eating meat or like an opera singer honestly when I see Skelliderge I imagine it singing Ave Maria in Aria tone which is the most cringe thing ever if it was more like a trumpet or a clarinet where the Skelliderge blows air and the bird moves to different spaces to make music would awesome honestly probably would be one of my favorites but yeah I even removed Torch Song my Skelliderge knows Flamethrower Shadow Ball Crunch and Earthquake Quaquaval is very cool I like that is Peacock which combines the Capoeira dance like Peacocks dance and makes sense sinse you need to be moving constantly like water in capoeira and you are supposed to intimidate the opponent but looking like Quaquaval it's perfect combination of typing animal and fighting technique and Meowscarada looks cute like a grass Dark Magician girl with cat tail and ears also it is crazy fast awesome ability and very great partner for Life ❤

Gen 1- Squirtle...i just dont really like his design, Charmander was cute and bulbasaur its sooo cute too Gen 2- Totodile, i dont dislike him, i just loved cyndaquil and chikorita was my fave from the anime so i liked playing with it Gen 3- Mudkip, i know its the best of the 3 and yada yada, but torchic was cute and treecko was badass for me, i used to put a everstone on grovyle JAJA Gen 4- Chimchar, i just dont like him Gen 5- Oshawot, idk, i just like tepig and snivy way more haha, but i love them all, fave generation Gen 6- The plant one, i dont even remember its name, i just dont like its final form Gen 7- Again the plant one, i dont like its final form Gen 8- Scorbunny, i dont like the "im a small bunny, now a medium sized one with a scarf, oh now im a big bunny but with pants" design Gen 9- I really dont like ANY of these starters, always pick random and just let them be on my pc, but if i had to pick a least favourite i think it would be sprigatito, i love his 1rst form but i hate the last one, they could have turn it into a puss in boots kind of Pokémon with the inspiration of antonio banderas, but they made it into a furry bait wizard

Honestly for me Least used is squirtle i don't dislike it's just as a kid i really love charmander and later on bulbasaur was my go to. chikorita didn't have appeal to kid me and well everyone knows how bad it is. treecko i love all gen 3 starters but put it simply i liked torchic most as kid but now a days mudkip that thing just tears hole through hoenn games piplup this ones a bit funny as i also never used turtwig but i just like the turtwig line better i really like pokemon based on myths, Methologies and the like. Snivy funny one as it not my least favorite just least picked as tepig is quite good in black and white and to lesser extent in 2 but is my least favorite disgn though i still think it actually pretty soild design. chespin not much to say other than just chestpin at least chikorita has a good design for the entire line i can't say that for chespin and the mid stage. Litten i absolutely love rowlet and popplio is just absolutely set up to tear the game in half. grookey had the least appeal that's about it. cyndaquil and rowlet i like both equally but I've only used oshawott as i like oshawott to degree that still suprise me sprigatito thanks to wonder trade it's only one i haven't used and is honestly my least favorite i love fuecoco line and quaxly line is fun line disgn wise but all are good.

For Kanto, shouldn’t Pikachu and Eevee be considered as starters due to Pokémon Yellow and the Let’s GO games? Pikachu was the starter for Yellow version and Let’s Go Pikachu while Eevee was the starter in Let’s Go Eevee.
