I won't believe the behind-the-scenes scheming is over until they're gone for good. Be careful of moves to temporarily placate the normies who DGAF 99% of the time, followed by a death blow. I feel like there's a real chance of even bigger shenanigans going down.

Great letter from Phil! I never pulled my membership in USPSA as it was an important activity for years but those were the '90s-early 2000s. Our issues back then were nothing like this BOD projects. I'll stay inactive for other reasons but won't be giving any money to the organization until this BOD is gone! Mick A27257

About 9 years ago I was lucky enough to shoot at a few local Level 1 matches with Phil. I was a new shooter, but knew who he was. He was the most personable guy in the squad, talked with everyone, taped targets, etc. but what really stood out is that at the end of the match be made sure that he went up to each shooter, shook their hand, and said "great shooting with you". The second time was a local Steel Challenge match. There was a teenage boy who was a new shooter, and when the kid finished shooting Phil walked up to him and offered to stay after the match to help the boy with his shooting. I never thought that someone of his stature would interact with new shooters this way, but he did, and actually enjoyed it! What a great guy.

I think its gonna take a bit more then just those few being gone. The entirety of the "company" or the ones who are getting a paycheck from USPSA need gone as well. There are also some people outaide of the BOD, and employees that have no interest in USPSA changing.

Area 8 director is a problem too? Good to be aware of. I’m in NJ and had been thinking about getting involved in USPSA until I came across all this drama that you and others have been posting about. Ugh.

I hate to see folks not shoot because of the AD and BOD. Matches build friendships and skills you may not find elsewhere. Enjoy it while you can! there are plenty of haters out there who want to take your guns!

@@micknelson8991 Whether it is USPSA or hit factor you are still going to go to the same clubs and shoot with the same groups of people using basically the same rules.

@@frank13621 Thats not the case in North Texas. We have a diverse crowd of folks who wouldn't shoot USPSA (haters) but would attend the local outlaw hit factor matches at the clubs who shunned USPSA, Then, there are the IDPA folks who rarely crossed the line to USPSA (also haters). Lots of those folks rarely interacted with the USPSA folks largely due to the personalities involved and lack of skill on their part. It took me 5 years to make GM and in that time I belonged to 7 different USPSA clubs where we rarely saw the "other guys" who refused to shoot USPSA for one reason or another. Texas is a big state. It not unusual to travel a lot of miles to be with like minded shooters, friends, and avoid those guys who shunned USPSA. We regularly hit Waco, San Angelo, Wichita Falls, San Antonio and Houston to shoot with the better USPSA guys in the state. Surprisingly, we had several clubs who frowned on the outside dues to USPSA and prohibited us from holding matches so we didn't. We lost 3 good clubs that way and they weren't about to let us hold "hit factor" matches as well. I can't speak for your state but several local USPSA folks showed up for "Plate matches" and anything else to shoot but we always caught some flack for something from the haters ( because we won! ) and left them alone. All this and our BOD then was nothing like the BOD now!
