Strike 2 is calling himself Dr formally in a byline. No one does that unless you’re an MD/equivalent. That’s beyond cringe. Idk why he’s so comfortable risking athletes careers - with what money? He’s in a lawsuit filed against former business partners to get paid out of Sargon. Yeah no thanks Strike 3 is how dumb the “enhanced Games” concept is. It’s an impossible level of absolute idiocy for track which is all I can speak to. Firstly as you rightfully call out , the average Olympiad’s salary isn’t the issue. It’s performance based. Steroids doesn’t solve the lack of funding and exposure issue in track. And if the goal is.. what… run better times ? That won’t make ppl watch more haha they can’t take these drugs at the events where they are paid their real money. And they are tested out of competition too. So you’re asking them to forfeit their right to be an Olympian for a concept that will likely fold after a few years. Unless world championships and Olympic Games allow steroids, which is never officially going to happen, this is the worst thing a track athlete can do. I would imagine many elements apply for combat sports too.

Those who are ignorant of performance enhancing drugs should not be the ones making policy about them. Even just taking anabolic steroids as a talking point, each one is slightly different. They are pharmaceutical products and can't be identical to each other. Beef hormones are cheap but toxic to your system. You never take just one PED, unless you're poor or ignorant, you run a stack (multiple PEDs) for a cycle (a specific duration of time in weeks). Some of this and some of that plus a little of this that and the other to counter the side effects of your main exogenous substances. Having fighters on gear without regulations ia going to get them killed, either in a cage or in their forties from self abuse. Quicker recovery means more strikes to the head per year and harder strikes from the opponent. Keep MMA gear free.

How much are tickets to the Paris Olympics? This all depends on which event and how many tickets you wish to purchase. Single ticket prices for the games range from $40 (€24) to more than $1500 (€950). Tickets for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies start at $150 (or €90). More than one million tickets will be available for $40, with nearly 50 per cent of tickets reserved for the general public priced at less than or around $82 (€50). Tickets for medal events at the games cost less than or around $165 (€100).

Just a matter of time before the discussion of steroids being okay in highschool sports. Before anyone says that is a ridiculous thought, just remember that a couple of years ago the idea of tampons in boy's bathrooms would have never been uttered anywhere in the world.

My issue is what happens to fighters on steriods with losing streaks and they get cut, it would be hard for them just to jump to another fighting league.

I usually like your takes but this one was terrible. Did you guys even watch the podcast? There are so many questions and doubts you guys had that were answered in the podcast. 1. Yes steroids would help create revenue and is one way to help pay the athletes more. The most obvious way is sponsorship. They gave a great example with Lance Armstrong. 2. Steroids aren't the only changes they are doing to the Olympics. I think, more importantly, they are doing infrastructure changes. There are so many sports in the Olympics that are a huge waste of money and that nobody watches but are just there for tradition. Also, they wouldn't need to find a "host". They aren't going to be confined to a single city. They just need to find some Trump-like (similar to the UFC in the early days) people who own a venue and don't care what they do. 3. The athletes wouldn't need to transition to "professional sports" if you solve the pay issue. Why would they go from probably making hundreds if not millions of dollars in sponsorships and pay from this league to making 10k to show and 10k to win in the UFC?
@PsychClub6 ай бұрын
The only thing that makes sense about this is that it is a “loss leader” to try to normalize use in all leagues. There is no way is going to pan out the way they think it will. Think about it… they only test for steroids after an event so there has been nothing in history to prevent someone from riding themselves out and running a sub nine second 100 m if it were possible. If someone could throw a 200 foot shotput roofed out. they would’ve already done it for the clout and tested dirty afterwards.

It'll be interesting to see how they compete with the records of olympic athletes. Cos I think you guys are right that it's not going to be the best of the best who do it, this will be the bkfc of athletics. But what happens when you take a good but not elite person and let them juice at much as they want? Will they set a whole bunch of new records or will they still not be better? If even juiced to gills no one can break Bolt's record, what might that suggest about his legitimacy?
@gentlemandemon6 ай бұрын
The "average" Olympic athlete probably makes $30k because some are highly visible pro athletes like basketball players ehile others speed walkers. That doesn't average out well. And that's not couting the various workarounds where athletes maintain amateur status while having their expenses paid for by their home nation or some rich benefactor. Getting rid of the amateur requirements for all athletes would probably solve the issue, but then there'd be nothing for these rich guys to put their names on and make even more money. These "disruptor" types are so annoying, it's all just marketing. I wouldn't be surprised if they have no intention in actually succeeding, and this is just some elaborate financial grift.
@SamsonGuest6 ай бұрын
Professionals have been allowed to compete in most disciplines at the Olympics for decades at this point. This is not the problem. Reality is that a majority of the sports that are represented at the Olympics don't gather much interest with people who are not participating in the sport if its not the Olympics. Without an audience there are no sponsors, nobody to buy tickets or merchandise. So there is no revenue. So there is no money in these sports to get the athletes payed. Even if they are professionals.
@gentlemandemon6 ай бұрын
@@SamsonGuest fair, I knew it was allowed in some sports, but I haven't really been able to find a concrete list, so I just kind of assumed it was the high-profile ones like basketball. And some sports just straight-up don't have professional leagues, like wrestling. Regardless, my main point is that the figure those guys quoted is heavily skewed, and they're not exactly providing a solution to those sports, unless they plan to heavily subsidize the pay of athletes from less popular sports. Don't get me wrong, it'd be great if they did, but I don't see guys like these doing that sort of thing.
@SamsonGuest6 ай бұрын
@gentlemandemon sure. Not trying to argue against you. Also agree the dudes seem like grifters I don't think they care as much about the athletes as they claim. My only point was that the problem is not the amateur clause because it's only applying to a few selected sports these days.

The problem with legalising steroids for something like combat sports is that its such an unknown effect. As you guys said, people taking steroids are looking for an unfair advantage which is somewhat removed when everyone's on steroids. My understanding is that performance enhancement steroids aid recovery, strength and endurance, but in a combat situation, strength and endurance don't count for much when one fighter is just way more skilled. I'm an Australian planning on being in Brisbane for the 2032 Olympics, and I've been saying for months that id absolutely love a Juiced Olympics, especially if they call it the OlympX like I have. 🤞 If they do, imho it should really concentrate more on the individual sports and have an aim at seeing just how much they can eclipse commonwealth/olympic/world records. And by that time, I'd expect prosthetics and other areas of technology based human augmentation (yes, i like the Deus Ex series, so what 😂) so that'd be awesome too. But yeah, if you come at this from a "lets see what the human body is REALLY capable of" perspective, what juiced athletes are actually competing against are the records.

The best point here is that if a big guy got a knockout you’d look and think “of course he did that, he’s on steroids”. Even if it looks super impressive, there’s no sense of achievement.
@ARMY-ep6fz6 ай бұрын
They'll never legalize steroids in a combat sport. I used them in the military because its amazing for recovery and stamina. Especially if you want to be more than a regular soldier. But they'll never allow it in combat sports. I use trt now and its wonderful for men over 40. Trt is very safe if managed and monitored by a doctor. Trt was legal in the UFC, but then people started cheating and taking full on growth hormone. It will never happen again.

Yes, PED use is common despite being against the rules, but I think the athletes and their management limit it to what they feel they can get away with... I think the ones who win these 'enhanced' events won't necessarily be the best in any sense, just the ones most willing to risk their health and even life to win.

I really hope they get back to regulating it heavier. I’m an MMA guy that looks like he’s on steroids (I’m not) but I’ve been getting those strange looks since my senior year in Highschool. I want to go to the highest levels of MMA naturally to prove that you can. I really think genetics and prepubescent intense exercise makes a world of difference. Happy you guys are bringing this issue up but I always get a little pit in my stomach when steroids are discussed.
@herethere56373 ай бұрын
so basically, if you took steroids you'd take over the world. People who have good natural genetics have an even bigger incentive to take drugs, because you'd just eat everyone alive.
