The Legend Of Barefoot Bandit: A Teenage Fugitive on the Run | Real Stories True Crime Documentary

Күн бұрын

Colton Harris-Moore's superhuman ability to escape capture by stealing airplanes and living in the wilderness made him a modern day folk hero. Fusing documentary, graphic novel style animation, and dramatic recreations, the film contrasts the story of a real kid who fell into burglary to keep from starving with his mass media persona, The Barefoot Bandit. While telling Colt’s larger-than-life story, this film examines the public fascination with underdog anti-heroes and how fame becomes the kiss of death for these outlaws we root for.

I have a commercial pilot's license with an instrument rating. During primary flight training it took about 13 hours before I was performing good landings on my own. Flying a light plane is not difficult, but to read a book and then actually do it does indeed show a high level of ability. It's actually amazing.

this happened in my home state. it was all so surreal lol. this kid was a local legend to us. like a real life GTA Online character, personified. boats. planes. atm's. safes. to this day i genuinely believe this kid is some kind of savant or genius. because nobody at that age should have been THAT functional. the way he was terrorizing the local government and was able to elude them for as long as he did made him a folklore legend. don't really hear him mentioned anymore these days but goddamn, what a ride. i hope you're allright Colton.

@@marcuslarwa9098 Not all the time. Many aircraft dont have insurance because the owners want the airplane as a status symbol but cannot actually afford to make payments on the plane, storage, fuel and yearly REQUIRED maintenance. Insurance companies don't remain solvent by paying out to the policyholders so they will use any reason to stiff the owners.

I have to register the plane and u can’t if it isn’t insured. I’d bet 95% of those planes are owned by rich people and the other 5% are probably small business. Nobody owns a plane that can’t afford it u sound real stupid. So insurance companies aren’t going to pay? The planes were stolen by a fugitive and then crashed why on what grounds could the insurance companies not pay out the claims.

I know Im just an online guy, but if you havent seen it and you are a fan of this feel, I bet you "You Dont Know Bo" will be worth your time. The idea was to make if feel a bit like a comic book. You can clearly see the comic book story here while the real story is told if you look at it right. This documentary is UNBELIEVABLE... every once in a while you come across a channel where you can't wait to see the rest of the content- even fewer feature production like this for well over an hour. Well done by the creators. Well done.

Here’s the latest update on Colton: In May 2019 he asked his judge to release her from probation four months early. In 2010 he was sentenced to seven years and got off on probation, however he wanted to be released to become a motivational speaker. He does not like his nickname “barefoot bandit” he wants to leave his past behind and move forward with his life very quickly. He paid off most of his debts because of Fox buying his story. He has about 97,000 left to pay off but I’m pretty sure when he gets released he’ll be ready to make so much money the correct way. He says he doesn’t see his past as a waste of time however the jail time did change his mentality to become an even harder worker and not to waste anymore time in the future.

You don't understand what Colton actually showed the world. He's proof that 'where there's a will, there's a way.' In a world where we feel increasingly helpless to the events around us, this KID just did the hardest thing imaginable out of sheer will. We hear you can do whatever you set your mind to. And here's this kid that really makes you realize that's not a fairy tale. It's for real. The hardest thing you can imagine, is possible. If you are Colton Harris-Moore

He didn't survive without depending on other humans, he survived by taking from other humans. He has an amazing story but you can't take away some sort of lesson of living independently from humans when he literally took the fruits of society for himself. The cars he stole, the airplanes, the food, the guns, tools, money... all made by other humans. It's not like he wandered off into the wilderness and lived like a caveman. 😆
