I was just thinking how Avatar shaped the humanitarian values of a lot of people growing up and now Legend of Korra shows people how the most dangerous of villains are the ones who seem reasonable at first until they take it too far. There's a tendency to connect to the hivemind, follow a leader blindly and overlook the red flags, but this show is excellent at making you think as an individual.

Korra especially with her gorgeous short hair do in book 4 and Opal look like nearly identical sisters only Korra's eyes are blue and Opal's are green.

No sadly the previous life connection seems to be gone permanently. My theory is even though Vaatu is gone he will still grow inside Raava like in the past but now with the current Avatar's help they can keep him suppressed but it takes the energy that linked all the Avatar's together to do that.
