I loved this episode, there were a few tiny things that disappointed me though I understand that they don't have the time to put everything in, I was really disappointed not to see the epic multiple crits in a row from vex on Delilah when she was rushing in to save her brother, and the reveal of Percy's mask and smoke felt a little less impactful happening immediately instead of later on after what appears to be just a decent into madness. Again overall great episode and I understand why the things that got changed had to be changed but I still feel a little sad about not seeing some of the more impactful bits make it in.
@yiklongtay60292 жыл бұрын
I think there was a possibility for the double crits to be redirected toward Silas since he is the damage sponge. That's not bad. Just replace Keyleth's eagle assault with devastating arrows from off-screen. Then the two arrow wounds and the single gun shot gets healed together afterwards

Welcome to the community! The Briarwood Arc starts around Session 24 of Campaign 1, and I think runs to about Session 38, or about 49 hours of play time, if I remember correctly, though not all of that time was directly related to the Briarwoods. The whole of Campaign 1, some related one-shots, and the first 19 episodes of Campaign 2 are on Geek & Sundry's channels, both Twitch and KZbin, where Critical Role streamed for several years both when it was owned and run by Felicia Day and Wil Wheaton, and for a period where it was owned by Legendary (a media company that has produced movies you've almost certainly heard of and possibly watched), and partially run by them (Marisha Ray (voice of Keyleth) had the Creative Director position for a couple of years, I think, and was showrunner for some of the shows on the channel) before splitting off to start their own company and channels. There are also Q&A videos on G&S that they used to do the week after CR episodes, called Talks Machina, and a variety of other work the cast did on the channel, both RPG related and otherwise. Several of the cast played in a game of Dread. There were some escape rooms. Both Taliesin Jaffe (Percy) and Marisha played in some sessions of a Vampire the Masquerade game, L.A. by Night. There was a geek news show called Signal Boost that some of the cast participated in. They had a weekly comic book show that Taliesin co-hosted called The Wednesday Club, which isn't on their KZbin channel, but might still be accessible on G&S's Twitch channel to subscribers, I don't know. The Wednesday Club's VODs might have been only available to subscribers of Alpha (Legendary's streaming platform for geek things, not just G&S, that I don't think exists anymore). The remainder of Campaign 2 is on Critical Role's channel as others have said, along with some Campaign 1 related one-shots that were played after they went independent. There are indexes on Critical Role and Geek & Sundry's websites for the content on their channels, I believe. There are also Critical Role fan sites that have pretty comprehensive information. Critrole Stats has lots of statistics about the games, their rolls, their playtime, etc... there is, or at least, there was, a publicly accessible and searchable fan-made transcript archive, I believe, that Critrole Stats has a link to. There are even resources for identifying cast wardrobe in some cases, for interested people.

No mercy Percy will never not be fun to watch. I love that Tal played an edgy AF character and still managed to make him look cool and not a dumb murderhobo. Percy is deeply flawed and yet he always worked with his friends and formed strong connections. To me, he is the quintessential Guts from Berserk! I love Tal for it. Also in the actual DND campaign, Tal was one of the few who really controlled the battlefield. He was a strong roleplayer and a strong combatant who understood his powers and made really good use of them to turn the tides in more combat scenarios, even in ones they would be fighting Enemies that aren't impacted by his gunshots. He used his maneuvers to the fullest to help the other party members in clutch moments.

This is basically episode 24 and 25 of campaign 1, and episode 25 is when I started watching live! Let me tell you, the whole chat and cast were freaking out over Vax being alone with the Briarwoods. Even Laura said she spent the entire week in between sessions worrying about her fictional brother. And Liam himself thought Vax was dead when he went unconscious in the courtyard, and may have let slip some feelings he had wanted to stay hidden up until then. If I had one complaint about this episode, it's that they left out how much Vex was panicking when she felt Vax go down, and how she SCREAMED when she saw the Briarwoods standing over his unconscious body, and rolled 2 nat 20s on attacks against them!

I love watching this because you can see Dustin realize something is about to happen in physically fight jumping in his seat in excitement to keep from spoiling something is gonna happen while being unable to fight the biggest grin on his face or see the moment when the thing happens that wasn't active in his memory happens and the feelings from the cartoon and the original game hit him at once and he's just so excited. Then you have Wendy that knows the people behind the characters and what they are capable of but not these characters seeing everything for the first time and seeing the horror, shock, joy, and everything fresh and reactive at that moment.

It wasn't until this episode that I realized of all the things the one thing I want to see most is Bad News
@alessandrofedericogobber56342 жыл бұрын
Imagine how they could convey the absolute beast that is Bad News. And I am not talking about the damage, because that will come in spades later (I am sure), but the actual recoil and power of the gasses coming out of the barrel, I am really curious of how they will reppresent Percy's most powerful firearm.

I think in the stream was a little dumb, because I remember Vax entering that room with the Briarwoods in there. I was... "if those are boss level villains, Vax is fucked" xD ...and he was But that said... I love how they always end up in a bad situation and survive one way or another. Scanlan fight in Vedmire's mansion was epic, but any other person would end up dead in the same situation.

I'm kind of knocking myself for not realizing quicker; but I used to be a little bit worried how the story could adapt hours upon hours of content in 20-25 ish minute episodes, and it just dawned on me. A picture's worth a thousand words, the animation is essentially condensing Matt's elaborate description by showing them on the spot, characters interactions happen quickly because players don't need to figure out what happens next.

This might be a spoiler, but Percy's pepperbox has a name . . . . . . it's called 'The List', and 5 of the 6 barrels is etched with the name of a person Percy wants to take revenge on. Two of the barrels bare the names Delilah and Sylas Briarwood.
