I have nearly 6000 hours in apex. I can without question confirm that a majority of that time solo queuing the game was plagued with me having lost teammates; seldom fighting lost players. If my friends who also have as much time as me aren't in the game, I simply don't play the game anymore.

I stopp doing it for 4-5 games. The enemies dont really do that afterwards unless i sit there and spam those movements techs for the rest of the game until i die or win. Shit is crazy man

One of the big reasons this game sucks to play is there are hundreds of players with pred badges from previous seasons who are playing in Plat and below lobbies. That level of skill doesn't just disappear because you didn't climb to Pred last season. There is NO reason I should have to compete with players with Pred badges from previous seasons in Gold lobbies while I'm paired with bronze players. It's ridiculous.

The only reason is to bring them back, if we kept the rank every season, we would play less, they want us to play the battlepass and such, they make it seem fair with the 'underdog' bonus which gets you more evo and RP for killing better players, but how often do you kill them, smh

The game is difficult but the ranked system is not. It's fine to be a bad player, but these bad players are regularly just slammed into Diamond lobbies just because playing the game regularly will force you into Gold/Plat regardless of skill. Think about how many times do you have to go 20th to go down an entire rank in gold. -35 per game means you can come last place with 0 damage TWENTY GAMES IN A ROW before the game decides to punish you for being bad. You can literally get to gold by accident, while having fundementally no idea how the game is played competitively, then you're expected to compete against literal pro teams.

Watson nailed everything that’s wrong with this game. Something I noticed now more than ever is you have tons of Smurf accounts. So even at a low level you can get steam rolled. These people defending EA are part of the problem. This game has had every chance to change for the better and EA won’t allow it. We’re at a point where nothing about this game has anything positive about it.

Apex matchmaking sucks because it "balances" solo que random squads with 1 good player, 1 average player and 1 low skill player which incentivizes 3 stacking to boost its player base numbers and potential customers. There needs to be separate ques for solos and duos/3 stackers but I doubt that's possible considering Apex's declining player base.

EOMM. Feels like there is barely any sbmm. Why do I always have to baby sit my teammates against way better teams that shit on us for 15-30 games then the algorithm trows a few easy/treats rounds with good teammates against visibly lower skilled players and easy wins, and repeat.. one of the main reason I dont play apex or cod. The research paper that made eomm stated that it fails once you know it’s there. You start seeing the cracks in the system and it can no longer fool you. But you can fool it. Throw 20-40 games internationally and you’ll get a bot lobby and high chance get a 20 bomb, don’t trust anyone with a 20 badge anymore, the system is easily foolable.

It feels rigged because it is rigged. It’s designed to keep you playing for longer, hoping that the next game will be a win for you. I played this game in season 0, and I got really into it around season 2. I stopped playing probably over a year ago because of the matchmaking. I would lose bottom 10, 10-15 games in a row, and still get matched with masters and press every single game who would kill the entire lobby in 5-7 minutes. I miss apex, but it’s impossible to play or improve when every game you play is against players with drastically higher skill than you.

EOMM stops working once people know it’s there, like Truman you start seeing cracks in the system, the cycle of winning and losing periodically, variation in queues, people you encounter and the fact that you could throw 20 games and get a good game the next one. You can literally fool it and break it. Once you know it’s there, it fails.

9:28 so, they have a reporting issue in ea. I’ve been reporting people for smurfing and aiming for a couple of years now and nobody has been banned midmatch. I’ve played over 10k matches and I typically play in gold or plat. Now, ranked is being overtaken by master 3 stacks or new accounts with less than 100 games in gold/plat lobbies. It’s pathetic how bad the matchmaking and reporting systems are.

There is no reason for a ranked system pair a level 30 account with a level 500+ account. The ranked system is busted and needs to be fixed. Reporting the accounts that Smurf, should have some repercussions.m. The cheating has gotten better this season but there as still lower accounts that are being used specifically to cheat or farm content from lower skilled lobbies.

Respawn started adding EOMM in pubs around Season 6 and have been increasing it's intensity ever since. This low IQ decision plus the fact that they have hated solo players since day 1 and them not bright enough to figure out the audio issues since launch, are just some of the reasons Apex is now on life support. It had a good run though.

The audio killed the game for me. I am 100% okay with dying to people better than me or because of my own mistakes. It’s how you learn. (I’m in the high diamond/low master level of skill which is why hard lobbies never bothered me) What I’m not okay with is not hearing them, not because I’m not hearing them, but because the game audio fails to cue. Dying to things outside my control (when they should be inside my control) in a skill based game is bullshit. I take care of my tech and buy good products and keep them maintained because I want a good gaming experience. I don’t throw it in the toilet for apex specifically. If my headset is perfect for every game except apex, it’s apex’s fault, NOT MINE. the players gaslighting other players saying “your mic sucks” are professional ass kissers.

the thing is...they don't have to call it "EOMM" or "EBMM" or "DDA", they can make a slight difference in the name or system, and call it by a slightly different name. That way, they can call it something else...like "EFMM", for engagement focused matchmaking, and technically it's not called "EOMM" or "EBMM". Same goes for DDA. Why would they patent these systems that they have invested in creating, in order to generate more revenue, and not use it? They want to tell you that they don't use EOMM and EBMM, and legally, they are not lying. It's a form of manipulation and it should be disclosed to consumers. It's obvious when you play, that you will notice how the difficulty changes depending on how well you're playing. Additionally, you tend to get into lobbies that are difficult most of the time. If you have any pattern recognition, you will notice it. Only way the MM system breaks is when you 3 stack, and if you're a 3 stack of higher skilled players, it won't affect you as much, since there are less people at the top tier.

Well, if they think it's a team-based game, then it means they really want every squad in their lobby to be pre-made, RIGHT??? Well, dear developers, why not give them what they want? Make it solo queue squads vs only solo queue squads. And pre-made squads vs only pre-made squads for each lobby :) Well, ofc, it's not exactly what these people want. When they say it's a team-based game and my opinions are wrong, they simply just want people like me to shut up just so they can keep having easy-unfair lobbies where they 3 stack and destroy solo queue squads. I personally haven't been playing apex for over a year. What made me quit was the unfairness in solo queue matchmaking. If someone asked me to list all problems need to get fixed in apex I could list over 20 problems which they still exist. I was at the Apex Legends Preseason Invitational and I talked to technicians from Respown (not from EA, but from Respown). It all started then... Respown's hands were not tied yet and they had a lot of freedom, but already then the guy told me that it was going in the bad side. I know two people from there, one of whom no longer works, apparently the atmosphere is terrible. People are depressed, they only work on tasks for which they receive permission.

i had to switch to console recently due to my pc breaking and me not having the funds to fix it, ive climbed to diamond twice now (was diamond 2 on pc) and the difference is unbelievable. As soon as you hit around the middle of D4 you'll be matched, fairly consistently, with multiple preds and masters. Many say this is fair because it helps to speed up queue times and such, and as much as i see that side of the argument, I never had that experience on pc in the past. Admittedly it did happen from time to time in D2 but that's somewhat expected, but not every other game like it appears to be on PS5. Also not seeing a huge difference between ranked on console and ranked on pc which was not what i expected, in terms of skill. Contradictory to the general consensus I know, but that's just been how my experience has gone so far.

I got banned from the apex reddit just for mentioning EOMM once. I know that matchmaking puts players into servers that arent the ones they signed into because I sign into the Dallas servers but meet people from all over the country mostly the northern US tho and when Im in those servers my ping is twice as high as the Dallas server so its easy to tell. I have also wondered if they give players better matchmaking if they spend money or if they are a streamer because I watch the Gaming Merchant some and it seems like his games have less high ranked players than mine sometimes cuz most of my pubs games have masters players and I get games with preds and 3 stacks of players with 20 bomb/4k badges but I have only had a pred team mates once and I have never thought that I am a better player than the Gaming Merchant and I obviously am not blaming him or saying this even exist. The sad thing tho is even tho I dont play ranked much cuz I play solo a lot I played with a few plat players a few weeks ago and was the only silver player in the lobby and had the most fun I have had in a while so tbh if they actually had real SMBB that put me in lobbies with players of equal skill maybe that wud be really fun

This is crazy because I didn't play the game for 2 days and my next PUBS game was crazy easy. However after 2-3 games my games were filled with cheaters and 3 stacks. Now EOMM makes sense. They just want you to login to apex everyday and play that 1 or 2 good games. And then leave.

I will always remember my wild 3 hours with a friend trying to get into this game like in 2022-2023 after having played Apex Legends only when it literally shadow dropped for only 5 hours with the group before. We went like, let's try to get into this game and learn it, it seems cool, and we were literally matched with people with 30k kills, 1k wins, it was the wildest experience for 3 hours where we only stayed playing to see if the numbers would even get higher in the stats and they indeed did even after we lost like 30 games in a row HAHA. Idk if our accounts were flagged as smurf or some shit but it was probably the most awful and interesting experience i have ever had with matchmaking, like literally my friend didnt got a kill until the 10th game and we still got matched against people with probably 2000 hours till we closed the game forever 😂Godlike experience being matched with 0/0/0 stats to people that probably were in the top ranks

I knew something wasn’t right!! Whenever I would take a break and come back, the matches felt easy. like TOO easy. The game would have me feeling like a god! I’m hitting all my shot and carrying! I’m all pumped up and feeling good! Then I’ll keep playing and eventually I’m asking myself “what happened to all that skill I had” because now I can’t hit nothing. People are walking up on me with no audio. I’m getting fried the moment I engage. My shots aren’t connecting. I could literally be shooting someone and they’ll turn around and melt me. the EOMM algorithm is in the data-mined game files BTW. EA says its not implemented and officially its "not implemented" because on paper its not. But if you look at the files that are IN THE GAME... then you see the EOMM in the files.

Part of the problem is they rely on content creators, streamers, tik tok to market the game, heirlooms and all these “Sick” clips, so I feel as though we’re stuck up against these High skill players just so they can film us getting rolled and try generate more interest back into the game each season! I don't think I have really played against people my level for over a year now. It's always either people way worse than me or people that are way better than me. Neither of these options are fun for me. Getting 15 elimination games against obviously new players isn't rewarding at all and getting my butt handed to me in pred lobbies is unbearable frustrating. Back in season 8-14 I was worse as a player, but I had consistently more enjoyable games.

Ways to fix apex imo (tired asf rn so i may forget some things) 1. Force everybody to play against everybody, maybe an opt out?? Idk, even in ranked 2. Do top 1500 pred not 750 3. Have an in game leaderboard for ranked 4. Make a good ranked system (s13??) 5. Fix audio and keep it consistent - requires more QA 6. Develop tool to make game modes easier in house (think fn creative like) 7. Make new permanent game modes 8. Make a fortnite creative clone (using the base of the in house thing) 9. EOMM is absolutely in the game, during the time I used to play I noticed the pattern. Drop in, get a bit of loot die early to strong opponents. This goes on for a bit until I'm about ready to call it, then all of a sudden I drop in and I'm winning fights more, enemies can barely hit me and I'm racking up kills, we win the match and I end on high dmg. Immediately on the next few games I'm facing back to back sweats. I'm not angry at sweats btw, they have every right to be good at the game. What isn't right is them being in my matches when I'm nowhere near their skill level, this ISN'T a fair challenge in the slightest. Hell, all you need to do is check champion banners also and look at player levels. To top it off there'll be days where I get 5 wins in one session, but the day after I can't get any shots in without being beamed by someone using walljumps and other tech. If everyone is sharing similar experiences, then someone is lying and it's clearly not the people who actually play the game, vs the people behind it who don't play at all. Who are you going to believe? Someone who actually experiences the game firsthand, or a team who just decides how matchmaking should go as directed by their boss?

I’m a diamond or masters player pending on season/time. I like trying harder in ranked, but it drives me nuts in pubs. I want to be able to play pubs and have a good time. Use non meta characters/guns and play around. I don’t wanna sweat after winning one game in pubs…It makes the solo experience horrible and not fun.

eomm is present to a degree 1000% its physically impossible that i get sometimes lvl 20 lifelines back in PEAK APEX number wise and i am a high masters hell even when a split happens i can grind for a day or two get to diamond and get silvers and golds on my team on weird occasions game works very simply u win ull get way harder enemies until you start losing to those enemies a lot and go back down skill ladder

Brother it does not take 4000+ hours in the game to clearly see that some form of EOMM is being used in apex! How many times have you not played the game for days then go straight into a pubs match and literally nobody in the lobby is capable of walking and turning at the same time LMAO... If I was to re-install today and go straight into a pubs match I could guarantee a 20 bomb and more than 4000k damage 100% and it always has been in the almost 5000 hours I have been playing the game!

Any version of EOMM or SBMM in any mode other than Ranked is a cancer to their brand and destroys player base. To say anything other than that is nuts. Investors are wildly ignorant and are sold on it because how the information is sold to them.

As someone that has overall avg damage of 600-800 I get by far the worst 3 team member I’ve done test over days and day and yeah i literally get bots and teammates I’ve played over 100 game not one time was I carried or even close too being carried like I’ll have 2000+ damage with teammates at less then 400 then run into team with 3 stacks masters and preds

I don't care if it is using EOMM out of a certain research paper, what I care about is that it's using a form of EOMM. The matchmaking algorithm needs to be open source so we can talk productively about it. I stoped playing Apex months ago. And one of the ~10 reasons I did stop playing was because the matchmaking is not open source.

EOMM is 100% real, I have very real experience with Hiswattson's claim. I got 2 accounts, one for MnK, the other for Roller. Every time I switch account, I felt the game is so easy, I should've just stick to that input. A couple of hours in, I started understanding why I didn't make the switch fully. I can just bully people for the first few matches, then it becomes predator lobby every game, and I get rolled by them if I don't play just as giga sweat as they do.

The lack of SBMM is the root of what is killing Apex, without sbmm, new and low skilled casuals don't continue to play (you can only get destroyed so many times before you find something new to have fun playing). No new or casual players equals Dead game.

I got killed by Madbroo, the number 1 pathfinder with over 300k kills the other day, and ive never even made it to platinum, my highest kills in a game ever is 10, and my highest ever damage was 3,014 outside of revival. My KD is around a 1.05 every season maybe 1.10. Why am I getting people like the number 1 Pathfinder whos 3 stacking with other preds in pubs in my games? He mathematically has to average 20 kill games or close to it to have that many kills even if he started playing back in s0. So why is he in my lobbies???? And EA has the audacity to say something isnt working, no shit something isnt working. People would be much happier if they just put people like this in their sweat try hard lobbies where they belong but theyll never do that because theyre too busy pushing out heirlooms and calling it "content" The only mfs still having fun on apex are people who cheat, and the diamond and higher players because they're the top 5% of the playerbase and higher. Nevermind the rampant use of Zen/Xim on console, watched some clown "Pred" player 1 mag someone from 50 meters or more away with a car and people genuinely want you to believe it's recoil control 🤡🤡🤡

MM is not skill based and engagement optimization is not strictly MM. It is a combination of both and Skill is not first on the list of importance in the MM algo, it is very low on the importance tier list. EA lies all the time so why would anyone believe what they say in their statements. Also how old was that statement? SO them saying it debunks it, funny. If skill was a major component in MM then I would have consistent games constantly but that is not what happens so...

Yesterday I had the same Caustic player on my team for 3 games straight. Randomly soloQing. I did around a thousand damage every game meanwhile this guy had 13,17 and 0 damage. It shows that they are trying to pair good soloqers with bad ones to create balanced teams against premades.

My personal experience -> EOMM EXISTS! I call it pity lobbies. After getting steam rolled with 3 stack preds as I solo que, I will get a pity lobby that I'll steam roll to only be put back into 3 stack pred lobbies

Played since season 0 and the matchmaking feels worse now than back then. Season 10-14 was my best time playing even tho it wasnt perfect.(S2 for nostalgia)

It is all EA COD has had this issue for a while. EA, like Jay mentioned, has a Patten to literally keep you playing. APEX was not even supposed to be a thing, and it blew up. EA is going to kill this game because it does not have as many spinn off games as COD. Now, we are starting to see new LTM that are coming from COD most recently. Hardpoint just named something different. Remember, they value Money over player fun.

I hadn't played for a while and jumped into some pubs. I had BOTS in my game for a few games basically free kills. A few games later I was being beamed by 3 stack preds. And his Watson is correct. If I take a few days off, and go back to pubs, bots.

Any amount of EOMM is EOMM, Hiswattson wasn't wrong. We also can't use the words of liars, the people who directly profit, as weightable counter arguments. All this takes is a little reading between the lines, looking at any AAA publisher's history and patents, and some competitive gaming experience (preferably prior to the year 2012, when this started to increase everywhere).

SBMM = EOMM as long as at least one metric relates to engagements, which is always the case. SBMM was introduced to increase engagement among lower skill brackets. So, these terms should be used interchangeably at all times. Simple as that!

The only thing that can be discussed is whether they go to the next level and make "skill" brackets based on your engagement or skill. For example, if I play a lot and don't leave while fighting for my life with 0.5 kd in higher skill level lobbies, would I be more likely to leave if I always win, in which case they actually keep me in higher skill lobbies because I feel engaged with being challanged? This is the main question about how far engagement optimisation is happening. Other than that, SBMM = EOMM no matter what. It's not even discussable.

The issue is Horizon. She needs to be deleted. Game has been crap since s7. Have a think about it. I can not play for 2 weeks, come back and insta straight into sweat lobbies. So its all bs. There is absolutely no way to save Apex. Look at the overall mechanics and functions of the game. You have legends who have a clear advantage over other more fun legends and a lessor skilled player playing a fun legend will always, always lose out. Also the servers are getting worse. Im lagging like no tomorrow.

I'll comment the same thing that I did on the Wattson video. SBMM and EOMM are in every modern game already. It negatively impacts mostly very good players. The very good players are more likely to have KZbin channels and Twitch platforms to tell everyone how bad matchmaking is etc. Which in turn makes people think that it affects everybody so badly. But the average person, whether they know it or not, would prefer this matchmaking style over plain vanilla matching randomly. We can read papers and testing data to know this.

I'm noticing little by little JMeyels being beat down by this game, when i first started watching this channel, I was always met at the end of a video with an enthusiastic "I'll see you all LATER GATORS!" now we just getting a "see you all later." To me personally that just describes the state of the game.
