One of the best live bands I ever saw and I saw many of the greats in the early 1970's. Sad lost so young and much missed by fans of SAHB.

Thanks for this one H&HL. I have always considered myself to be a fan of a band that few people had heard of. Bought a ticket here in Adelaide for his Australian tour early 80s, unfortunately Alex passed before I had the chance to see the bands live performance. Always reminds me of my Scottish heritage.

I was a massive fan aged 14/15yrs old I and got to see the band at 'Sheffield city Hall' in 1975, a minibus went from my local youth club, as we went in, everyone was given a paper with the Lyrics to 'Boston Tea Party' as they had not released it yet as a single and were trying it out with the audience to measure their response, wished I had kept it now. Years later, I watched 'SAHB without Alex' at the 'Boardwalk' in Sheffield, Joe Elliot of 'Def Leopard' got up on stage and sang 'Boston Tea Party' with them and told the audience how the Band had a huge influence on him, a fantastic gig and the sound was incredible. When Alex split from the Band, he played a local pub near a village called 'Tibshelf' in Derbyshire, the pub was called, 'The Shoulder of Mutton' the group 'Slade' also played there.

Another great tribute, my friend, I appreciate the fact that you never say anything derogatory and that you are always fair and respectful towards them. A totally fantastic job with this video! I need to go and listen to some of Alex Harvey’s music now, for another artist keep in mind Gene Pitney he was a favorite of my mom‘s in the 60s. Your friend, Shilo from the USA

Looking at the photos you can just see how much they put their hearts into their performances. It was such a different music scene back then! It’s such a fluid career, moving from one group to the next, making friends, influencing each others styles, the music community in those days was full of such great names. I can see a little of Skyhooks’ theatrical style in some of these photos, it seems they were inspired at the same time. My grandmother’s fiancé was a Freemason, they get a lot of flack nowadays, but he was an honourable, loving man and I was proud of his ethics. Alex had a great life in music, and he lived it his way!❤️

Yes I see the likeness of the Skyhooks 🥰 And I agree each to their own 😁👍 Thanks Deidre as always ❤️

I saw SAHB on Midnight special I think and they did Vampo. Whoa. It was cool but super weird. The guitarist face like a mime. And Alex looked so old...he was. Later, Chris Glen the bassist joined Michael Schenker's group. A great bass player. Alex, if nothing else be said was quite a character.
