My favorite moment with Reepicheep is when he comes to the end of the world and casts away his sword. That might not seem like much but Reepicheep was a warrior through and through and was always armed. So for him to realize he had come to a place where that was no longer needed and to leave it behind was a big deal and always struck me as something very special.

I love Reepicheep. He’s my favorite. I’d like to hear your villain assessment on Shift the ape from “The Last Battle” and how he represents the Anti-Christ. I believe his characterization is the best and most simplest way to teach children how to recognize when someone is being emotionally manipulative and how that leads to toxic relationships.

This was really good. Voyage of the Dawn Treader is like a picture of a journey towards Heaven. Reepicheep has the longing to see Aslan's country, as a Christian has as longing for a home in Heaven. In The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and The Silver Chair, Aslan's country has been teased. Reepicheep goes there, but he is not seen afterwards. In The Silver Chair, Aslan resurrects Caspian to His country, and Caspian even says that now he is where he belongs. We don't really get to see Aslan's country fully in depth until The Last Battle. It's great to see all of those from Narnia's past together again (and there's a whole list of them). It's kind of like we read about Heaven in the Bible, but it's not in depth until Revelation.

Reepicheep has the young King David's vibe, a little boy with gigantic courage. King David was entitled as man after God's own heart... And Reepicheep is certain close to Aslan's heart because He allows him to cross the water border. I also love how you narrate Reepicheep's story, like narrating a very noble warrior's life... Which I bet he is. Looking forward for more of your magical, and adventurous videos! God bless you!

A weak point in the movie was how they rewrote the storyline missing the teaching point of reepicheep's sacrifice on behalf of the sleeping lords. As each of the movies moved further form canon I became more and more saddened. I hope future remakes will seek to stay as close to C. S. Lewis's vision. Movie directors that think they know better than Lewis are sadly mistaken.

If I could subscribe again, I would! You certainly deserve more than 15K subscribers. And I would love to see more frequent postings but only if it is something you really want to do, understanding the amount of work involved. Reepicheep was such a wonderfully amazing little warrior, showing that a whole lot of bravery can be packed into a very small package. I loved the way he interacted with poor Eustace on the Dawn Treader, going from being almost merciless toward him to being the kindest and most compassionate friend. I don't think he meant to be cruel at all, just saw that Eustace needed to be taught a few things. Their parting at the end brought tears to my eyes. Thanks for a great video!

I'm glad to see you're back! I love Reepicheep--always a fan favorite! I always wondered about the origin of talking mice because I believe they are mentioned as being given the gift of speech in "The Magician's Nephew" along with all the other animals. Not sure if that was a plot hole or if Lewis simply meant that Reepicheep's particular tribe was the tribe that cut Aslan free.

It's not one to one by any means, but if Narnia has a Cephas, aka Simon "Peter" - surely it is Reepicheep. He is also a little Lancealot. He has a tendacy to talk big. Unlike some people he CAN actually back it up! He's also loyal like Lucy and like Tolkien' s Sam Gamgee. He's a little guy not worried about being little. His sword skills are pretty b.a. ( how many people do you know who can go into fencing mode while being swung around by the tail and actually make it work effectively? ) I don't know why I like him, I just do.

Reepicheep is the best character for me, and it isn't even close. He still touches my heart deeply and I tear up everytime. There is something deep inside that resonates with his nobility, honor, loyalty. Attributes I wish for and am shamed when not achieved. The scene in the Dawntreader movie where he comforts the dragon Eustace on the beach is just too much.

To further elaborate the 2nd: this is One of his last actions, comforting others in the face of his own end and showing the highest loyalty by not uttering a single protest despite the damage to his pride & honor (fulfilling his duty was the higher honor!) lastly leaving on a high note as a ladies man! The last line of Reepicheep's prophecy always seemed a little odd. I think it actually contains a fossilized typo. If I'm right, it should actually read "There in the utter east." Reepicheep was meant to stand out to readers and viewers. Many see the bravest and most powerful beings as giants or other large entities. And while they're strong, there's no denying that, sometimes those smallest can surprise us with their power. Like the story of Vamana and the three steps when meeting Bali. (Though obviously Vamana grew to cosmic proportions, the lesson of the smallest/humblest of beings can surprise and teach to the largest and mightiest.)

Nice videos! I love Reepicheep, he is so cute and funny! In the voyage he says about the Dufflepuds: 'I wonder, do they become visible when you drive a sword into them?' :-) The only thing I don't like is that images of the movies are used. There are many things that don't match with the books. For example, Caspian isn't allowed to go to the very end of the world, but in the movie he is. On the other side, I understand that there aren't much other pictures you can use. By the way, could you make a serie with all (mentioned) Narnia creatures? Also the ones that are mentioned in only one book?

I was so upset with that 3rd movie. There was so much to work with in that book and they managed to mess it up. My biggest disappointment was what they did with Reepicheep. They changed it so Eustace broke the curse and made it look like Reepicheep just wanted to go to Aslan's Country. It ruined his sacrifice. It's nice that they gave Eustace some redemption but that was literally Reepicheep's destiny. It was so disappointing.

I cried at the end of the second film because so much was lost and broken. Most of the time I pretend that the boat film doesn’t exist, and have largely forgotten it.

• As a mouse-enthusiast who's raised pet mice since I was 9, it's only natural that Reepicheep would be on my list of Top 10 Narnia Characters, which is ironic because, *Prince Caspian* and *Voyage of the Dawn Treader* are my _least_ favorite Narnia stories (not really "bad," they are at the bottom). •As far as the level of content, for being a fandom channel, I, just personally, would rather see more of a focus on the _quality_ of the content versus just more content. While I have plenty of KZbin channels I follow, so quantity is seldom a problem, I get worried when channels pump-out a lot of content for what is, especially for the Narnia books, a very limited collection. Things like Pokémon, Legend of Zelda, and other series throughout the various mediums have so much more content to analyze, but that's because they're not only still growing but also because there were many more PEOPLE involved to draw inspiration from & influence them. Even LotR has so much more folklore & in-depth study. I just worry that the channel make peak to quickly if content is put out there too fast. …But that just my opinion. It's your channel; only YOU can know what's good for it. I can't wait, either way.

I was just thinking when the next episode would be released! Granted I've been thinking that for a good month or two now, but still. Also I do believe that it is worthwhile! There is so much Narnia lore that has only been touched on here. What happened to Susan? How does material outside of the seven chronicles fit into the lore? A Giant Surprise? The game books? Past Watchful Dragons? Unofficial "eighth" volumes? There was also a novel released in 2020, Piranesi, by Susanna Clarke, which I am convinced is a (very) loose sequel to Magician's Nephew.

I like Reepicheep because (like Yoda from Star Wars) he shows that strength and power are not contingent on size :-) Thanks for once again sharing a deeper piece of Narnian lore with fans both old and new! Respectfully, I noticed a couple (minor) errors in this video: a) only two lost lords were mentioned on Ramandu’s island, and b) you mention 8 “friends of Narnia” meeting Reepicheep again in The Last Battle (Lucy and 7 others), even though Susan was not there.

Thanks so much for the post! Appreciate the careful listening and the chance to make a correction if needed. a) I can only find where I mentioned "the last two of the lost lords" which were the last of the seven to be discovered. Did I say something else somewhere? b) I think I said "Lucy and the other Seven Friends...". The Seven were Lucy, Edmund, Peter, Eustace, Jill, Polly and Digory--all of whom were there to meet Tirian behind the stable door. So I guess there were eight total! :-)

Ouch, more than a year late... but one of the MOST important parts in Reepicheep was the tail story, that was briefly passed here. =). I don't know how it's written in the original/english version, but here, when all mice drown out their sword and Aslan ask for the reason, the second in command (that I think the name was (here) Chípisik) says that all mice are willingly to accept cutting their own tails because they couldn't face to have an honor negated to the... (ahem)... SUPREME MOUSE. So, here (I guess in english too?), Reepicheep (Rípichip) wasn't the simple "leader of the mice"... he was THE SUPREME MOUSE. =) Also to mention, that in the Dawn Traveler, Reepicheep specifically mentions (I don't remember if at the end, or during the voyage when he was telling Lucy what he was trying to accomplish) that, after he goes to Aslan country... "and Chípisik (again, here) will be the LEADER of the Narnian Mice"... Notice that... the second in command mouse, WILL NOT inherit the title of SUPREME MOUSE... that title (at least in the version I read) was HIS... and no mouse, ever again. used it, as he wasn't giving it up.

@@IntotheWardrobe Considering Rípichip personality... I'm not so sure. A title like has to be won, specially since he was *so* OVERLY focused on the "chivalry" aspect of life, considering that... you really think that "Leader of the Mice" and "Supreme Mouse" are that interchangeable? O.O
