I challenged myself to read the entire series of 7 books 7 times when I was seven, and this is by far the most fascinating concept for me. There are so many things about our realm that can be tied to this concept. Shasta's world was a close 2nd, due to it's contrast and close proximity to Narnia.

The Chronicles of Narnia movie was great. But I don't like the casting of the Witch. She's supposed to be a young brunette with pale skin.

My favourite version of the Chronicles of Narnia remains the BBC series from the late 1900s. Though it is campy and it looks dated in many ways, that is what I grew up with. And it was my first inlet into learning English. And from my first viewing til today, the main theme brings me into impossible-to-hold-back tears. It's a low joy in it mixed with melancholy and sorrow, but that tune is still absolutely gorgeous. And if Netflix makes a full new series - I deeply hope they'll sort of 'remaster' that original BBC tune to be a bit more upbeat - but also use the actual original theme. I just love it so much. And for it's time? The BBC series was great. In the name of our true God - ASLAN. Let this show be a success, and true to the source material.

4:49 this is what I love about Narnia so much. I've been a fan since I was a young child, im 32 now and Narnia is one of the few things that is for the whole family. I remember watching the old school films each Christmas with the family. My father was really into Lord of The Rings but also liked Narnia lore, he got me all the Narnia books on my 7th birthday.

I whish more people gave Narnia a chance, I've always enjoyed the stories and movies. I like Lord of The Rings as well but something about Narnia has always drawn me in, maybe it's because I grew up reading the books from a early age. Aslan is one of my favorite characters of all time

I love your conclusion this problem. As a Christian myself, I have been learning much about my God, what He is capable of and what He chooses to do for our good. God is all-powerful, limited only by his own morally upright nature and His choice. When He allows pain into our lives, it is always for the purpose of showing forth His power in our lives to transform us into the image of His own begotten Son Jesus Christ. I choose to believe that Aslan allowed the horrible railway accident to take away all of Susan's family so that she could in turn remember who Aslan is and the ultimate good He has for her. I also choose to believe that Susan rediscovers Aslan's love for her, and not only finds her way back to Aslan's country but brings others with her, because she is so grateful for Aslan's love to her that she cannot help sharing it with others.

What if Susan's fate is a stopgap measure to fix a plot point? Narnia can only continue with four kings and queens at Cair Paravel. Had to get rid of one of them and yes, Susan's the one without much story arc.

You missed an island. Between dragon island and deathwater island is the burnt island. It has the sea serpent. I still don't understand why it exists.
@IntotheWardrobe
@IntotheWardrobe 16 күн бұрын
I excluded Burnt Island because the island itself does not present any danger. I do think it serves a purpose in the message but in a different way which I will briefly sketch out below. I didn't include the sea serpent because I think it is a different thing altogether. While it was a threat to the crew of the Dawn Treader, I don't believe that it's intended to be included as one of the dangers that the Lost Lords would have faced. Mostly because there's no indication the lost Lords also faced the serpent. Its doubtful they would have survived unscathed and Coriakin does not mention that their ship needed any repairs like the Dawn Treader did. I think this is a threat presented uniquely to the Dawn Treader crew as opposed to the other dangers. Here are some initial and undeveloped thoughts: I suspect that the burnt Island and subsequent encounter with the sea serpent serve a couple of different purposes: First it provides a good contrast of Eustace's two potential fates: the island was burned possibly by the previous dragon of Dragon island. Instead of meeting the same fate, Eustace was given a new perspective and a newfound bravery for the journey ahead. During the battle with the serpent he "did the first brave thing he had ever done" by hacking the serpant with a sword. For Reepicheep, Burnt Island provided him with the coracle he would later need to get to Aslans country. It seems as if he was receiving a reward for his kindness to Eustace on Dragon island. However, I think he most important lesson comes during the battle with the serpent, when Reep discovers the key to battle with the great beast: "Don't fight! Push!". Perhaps the lesson is that the key to facing some of life's most difficult challenges is not to fight them directly if you are ill-equipped, but instead to push them away so that you may live to face another day. Just some initial thoughts but want to do to understand why don't think these two moments are intended to be group together with the trials that I laid out.

@@IntotheWardrobe I get the narrative significance of the sea serpent, but the coracle could have come from a hundred different places, and burnt island IS the most eastern non-magical settlement in Narnia, and we know nothing about who the inhabitants were or how they got there. Can you think of anything that ties to it? I don't know a lot about Narnia lore from outside the books, so if you have any clue I'd really like to hear about it. (Thank you for replying to me, btw)
