Honestly, I feel like the Hufflepuff common room was the most conveniently placed. Right next to the kitchens = midnight snacks, and you don’t have to climb up into a tower like Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, or go into the literal dungeons like the Slytherins.

Hufflepuff isn't necessarily students the other founders didn't want. It's just that no student is excluded for any specific reason. You can have traits of the other houses but if your main ones are kindness, loyalty, dedication etc., you'll be a hufflepuff. 💛🖤

I read somewhere that Slytherin disliked muggle borns so much because when the founders were alive, the muggles were terrified of witches and burned them. Slytherin’s sister and mother were one of the victims who were burned to death by the muggles. I believe it's cannon that the burned "witches" were mostly muggles since the actual witches would be able to escape those trials. Anyway, I also found a fan theory video on this topic interesting and historically correct. In Slytherin's defense, he had a fair point not wanting to share the secret with muggles, considering what muggles had done to his kind in the history. 😬 I kinda see why he was so protective of his students at that time.

Yeah speaking as a Ravenclaw, although I'm mildly annoyed all the official merch uses a raven instead of the canonical eagle, at least ravens are know to be very intelligent, perhaps more so than eagles. So, I'm still happy wearing some of the Ravenclaw merchandise. 🦅💙

That would honestly be amazing given how the name Merlin is so profound in our world and in the Harry Potter world. It would also give an insight into Slytherin politics as well, since despite being sorted into Slytherin and possibly taught by Salazar himself. Merlin befriended the Muggle King Arthur and founded the Order of Merlin which sought to protect muggle kind. Which is a direct contrast to Salazar’s descent into mistrust and paranoia to the inevitable hatred of Muggles and Muggleborns.

Helga Hufflepuff is my favourite because of three things: 1. Being from my country (yay Cymru/Wales!) 2. She is the kindest and most accepting which to me is Hogwarts’ defining traits. 3. Her house bred some of the most good people ever, she also to me value the best traits: hard work, loyalty and fairness, Gryffindor wanted bravery and chivalry but loyalty can become bravery when the time is right, Gryffindors are brave because of goals, Hufflepuffs are brave out of loyalty.

Great video man. I was sort of worried if you would use the term “based on books and not the movies”, like some of your other videos(which was fitting there). But even with the Eagle-Raven thing, this video was really faithful to both the mediums. As the four founders and Hogwarts itself plays a very large role in both the books and the films, and unlike the other life videos or event breakdowns, the history of Hogwarts and its founders did have a great impact due to the films. So your decision to acknowledge both the mediums, even in the subtlest manner was brilliant.

I can’t believe people don’t get that hugglepuff is the best house think about it! Ravenclaw= only wants extremely intelligent Griffindor = wants glory, great courage , bravery. Slythern= requires ambition, “ does anything to get their way” - sorting hat Hufflepuff= loyalty , accepts people for who they are and their differences regardless of weakness or flaws. Spoiler alert for House of the Dragon: It would honestly be cool to have a prequel to the series about the founders. This idea just struck me after watching House of the Dragon in HBO, and knowing Rhaenyra (one of the main characters in the books of ASOIAF) will be eaten by her own dragon at the end. We know their stories, we know how they end, and that’s what makes it bittersweet. I’d like to see them building up so much love for the 4 founders and absolutely devastate the viewers with the endings they all have; Godric and Salazar’s transformation from friendship to hatred, Rowena and Helena’s mother-daughter relationship (and Helena’s murder) tragically crumbling to pieces, etc, and their friendship left to be a shadow of it’s former self.

That is very likely. Especially considering that so many people are afraid of snakes which could be rooted in our evolution because our earliest primate ancestors were easy prey for snakes especially large constricting snakes. So they evolved to be able to recognise snakes alot more easily which carried down the generations into their descendents which happened to be us.

Why would Salem be the Western school when it's a reference to the Salem witch trials in Massachusetts? Logic much?
