I loved the comment Remi made, any elk is a good elk. That is what I believe and the way I was raised

Awesome video! Looks just like the 4x4 public land bull I got last week in Utah. "Any Elk is a good Elk" is a great motto!

Love the show fellas! Would you guys consider filming a multi part series that would take a beginner through long range shooting? Cover rifle/optic setup, what a competitive match consists of, misc but important/necessary other gear one may need…basically giving experienced and/or seasoned hunters a high to mid level understanding of the sport. Keep up the great work!

That’s fantastic to see. Congrats Mark on your first bull elk in forever. I have yet to elk hunt, but when I do and I am successful I will have to keep the tongue 👅. I also like deer 🦌 heart ❤️ so I am sure elk heart ♥️ will be good too.

Congratulations on the bull. I grew up hunting Elk in Oregon and my mom always wanted the heart, liver and tongue. Tongue is definitely an underrated cut of meat. Hopefully I'll be able to get back there and do another hunt someday.

Hell yea!!!! Tongue is really good you make tacos super tender you just need to boil it first with onion garlic salt and pepper then peal the skin off then shred the meat once it’s shred dice up some onion, cilantro, cabbage and some salsa

Congrats on the bull Mark! Have y’all considered doing a 10 minute talk on reloading with a short action tikka, you can gain a longer seat depth / overall cartridge length by just switching to a long action bolt catch and the long action tikka mags? Disclaimer, I haven’t personally tried this, but am looking to develop a hand load for my 6.5 cm tikka. This would allow me to stay within the tikka parts family and not switch to an ACIS mag. My goal is to keep weight as low as possible. I currently have my tikka in a PurePrecision carbon fiber Altitude stock. Loving it so far. Hope y’all decide to pick this for a topic one day!

This is super simple, I do this with a custom tikka t3x in 300wsm that I built for my wife. Allows me to load big heavies at full speed using less powder than a WM

@ReedMcNeal Ай бұрын
@@lanehart6525 Glad to get feedback from someone who’s done it! I’ve wanting to get into reloading but don’t want to commit to swapping over to ACIS mags. Have you experienced any feeding issues when you changed the bolt stop or modified the current one?
@lanehart6525
@lanehart6525 Ай бұрын
@@ReedMcNeal I did not, but I did have to do some tweaking with the aftermarket stock i installed on it. Much like you i didnt want to use aics on a hunting rig either.

To each his own.. must have only had one day to hunt.. I prefer to take the entire season and enjoy the experience of living in the woods, killing a bull in the first morning after driving out from town is not my idea of Elk hunting..
