The lucifero fight was proof enough that anti magic has limits and that Asta and liebe can also run out of it like how the magic users run out of mana. When lucifero was first there Asta was able to stand in the gravity spell during his base form and at the end of the fight liebe said he can't cloak them in enough anti magic to counter the gravity spell....In my opinion anti magic is a proven counter for fighting against mages but the potency and amount of anti magic also matters ..

The strongest person in the story has stated that only physical attacks work on asta at this point, so even if it does have limits it won't be a problem in the story now. I think what Asta needs to do at this point is hone is swordsmanship and skills, which is probably exactly what is going to happen in the final arc.

the way i always seen it is. it has been explained i think by you that magic is like fire, and anti magic is water that can extinguish the fire, however it all matters how much 'water' does asta has at disposal, obviously he won't be extinguishing an entire forest fire with one bucket, if he had sea's worth obviously he could.

You could also use this logic: Round 1: Fire Magic vs Fire Magic Round 2: Anti Magic vs Fire Magic If Fire Magic and the other Fire Magic are on the same level, no one can win. Lets say both are a 1. One of them has to be a 2 to win. Lets look at anti magic. Anti Magic DOESN'T NEED to be a 2 to win. Anti Magic on a 1 is stronger than Fire Magic at 1. The reason is the effect. Fire Magic 1 and Fire Magic 1 are equal until one of them is a 2. Anti Magic as a 1 is strong enough to win against both 1 fire magics.

As i understand it, the abilities of anti-magic have clear motives. First we have the Anti-magic energy that seems to negate or regect Magic in general. Then, over that source of energy, we have the constructions that use the energy, the swords, and pretty much like any man-made construction, they can create different efects depending on How they chanel that energy. For example the Demon slayer's blade has a strong rejective coating of anti-magic at the wide of it, but a Magic destroying effect on the edges. The Demon destroyer's abilities seems like a complex machine, kind of like a dam which can be used to generate electricity out of the waters movement, it uses the anti-magic to negate the Magic effect, not just the mana in it. At last we have the users ability to use the energy and constructs in a creative way. I've seen Asta as a conduct/recistance between Ant. Magic and the constructions. And the Devil unión form as Asta conecting the constructions directly to the energy source. As i usually see it 1 unit of A.Mag. can negate a 100 units of Magic, if used correctly. In some constructions it may get multiplied. So if correctly applied the enemy Magic must at least be 100 times stronger than Asta anti-magic to not be negated.

If I remember correctly, there have been points where a magic type has been stated or implied to be more effective against another (such as water against fire, tho I don’t remember specific examples), so would it be correct to say that anti-magic has a similar effect, except it applies to all magic types? It takes less “anti-mana”, or whatever the anti-magic energy is, to destroy the same amount of mana (if anti-magic follows the same rules as magic). Or, does anti-magic and mana cancel each other out? While a lot of magical users know when they’re low on mana, I don’t believe we’ve seen Asta “run out” of anti-magic, but his black forms and devil unions do have time limits Edit: 22:34 oop I guess I should have watched the whole thing before commenting lol

Lucius was manipulating time with magic during the spade kingdom arc, despite the fact that Asta was using a lot of antimagic inside the field of Lucius's spell, he wasn't able to counteract the effect... An interesting way to defeat Asta is if the magic user has an effect on physical objects. Asta might be able to negate most of the magic, but he wouldn't be able to reverse the effects on the object

Mana skin is invisible, though. Sometimes reinforcement magic is shown visually (eg. Yami punching walls/cloaking his sword), but when Mana Skin is introduced, it is stated that all mages, to one degree or another, always use mana to boost their stats while in combat, it's more of a passive. It is also false that Mana Method using True Magic is redundant. Mana Method by itself is just runes that give customized commands to your magic, Zora and Magna use them without using True Magic. True Magic is just one possible application of the method, combined with "natural" magics. Other examples of non-True Magic that still uses runes are Secre's Sealing Magic and Charmy's Meal Magic.

"Could've" doesn't work here. If Anti-magic can negate all magic regardless of strength, the gravity it should just dissipate upon contact with Asta and Liebe. It would just touch it and then get destroyed with the anti-magic still remaining. It wouldn't matter how fast Lucifero reapplied magic. The Patri example also doesn't work since if anti-magic negated all magic regardless of strength, then it wouldn't even push Asta back. The fact that it does implies there's some resistance to being erased anyway in the sense that even when in direct contact with AM, it takes time to get rid of it. But if this is the case, the denser the magic, the less-likely Asta is to erase it. This still proves the video's point.

Well there is easy way to explain how someone wins. Black Clover works like that: Water-Magic vs. Fire-Magic. Water is superior to fire. Its a fact. But lets look at the magic and power. There are 4 things magic has: 1. Strength/Power 2. Amount of Mana 3. Effects/Use 4. Multiplier Strength and Amount of mana are actually the same!!!! More mana -> stronger spell and magic. But now lets look at Water vs Fire. Lets use 1-3 as amount of mana and strengthlevel. Fire-Magic: 1 Water-Magic: 1 Winner: Water-Magic Fire-Magic: 2 Water-Magic: 1 Winner: Draw Fire-Magic: 3 Water-Magic: 1 Winner: Fire-Magic (finally) So you need to have more mana as a weaker magic user than a stronger magic user. If it was for Water to be also a 2 when fire was a 2, water would have won. If it was a 3 vs a 3, water would also win.

Essentially anti-magic is like hax in Dragon Ball. If the opponent is stronger than the hax user, the hax won’t work or have much effect on the opponent. Anti magic is an opposing wavelength. It not only needs to match the frequency of magic, which it does automatically, but also the amplitude. It needs an opposite AND equal amount of anti magic to the magic used. Pretty simple concept.

I always thought SCALE was the most important factor along with HOW the anti-magic was used. Asta is a close combat fighter and lacks terribly with long-range attacks. This is the same situation with Yami fighting Dante, how he managed to pressure him because Dante decided to fight close combat instead of using range and debris to keep him away like he did Asta. I think it's his innate lack of magic that prevents him from gaining an arsenal of spells to use like normal characters. He's never felt the sensation or has received training for magic use, and because of the nature of antimagic, he's not treating it like it is magic if you get what I mean. but despite him not knowing anything about the sensations of magic, I think this is where Ki really comes into play because Liebe is basically their "magic pool". I think that's why this Hino country arc is gonna be Asta learning to actually manipulate the form of his antimagic. Asta really learned a lot on his own, and never had anybody to teach him anything. Yami teaching him Ki was crucial since it's possible he can learn to manipulate the form and scale of his antimagic, we might see him create weapons out of his anti-magic the same way Yuno can with his Wind Spirit magic. Or he's limiting himself by using the swords as a medium to fight magic users. Once he learns to use his anti-magic like magic he'll evolve again.

Asta wasn't able to Knock back patris massive light attack, Salamanders attack, and Liliths attack because they would still detonate or have momentum to keep going. This is states several times. And shown several times. It's not that he didn't have enough anti magic to knock it back, it's that the spells were so massive that they would still heavily damage everyone around, including himself.

His form shut off because his body couldn't handle it. When he went berserk against Dante? His body couldn't handle more than 5 minutes. He had no issue going into devil union, clapping naahmah, chasing Lilith to the point she experiences fear for the first time, extends black divider so big it can knock back Lilith's but instead he cuts through the massive fiery ice ball and proceeds to clap her as well in less than 4 minutes of devil union. And that's after clapping the ancient demon in the clover kingdom with devil union in 1 minute, and using anti magic to fly on his sword to a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COUNTRY and that's after practicing devil union against nachts devils. So... How exactly does he not have enough antimagic?

I always thought of it as him needing the same amount of power or above as what he's trying to fight. Kinda rock paper scissors with different power levels or like pokemon types being weak against other types but if ones a higher level they're more likely to win. I think with anti-magic or negate superpowers needs to be used in a creative way to win the fight instead of just going head-on. Durability wise is seems really lacking, so it seems more like an attack based power than a default defence type unless specifically used in a defense way with major focus put into it

Very well explained. Just a heads up that the logic some people use like "Anti-Magic is absolute over Magic" is what you call a No Limits Fallacy. A very controversial term where one claims a character has no limits no matter what. But mostly ignores all context of the story when using that term. E.g. "Logia from One Piece cannot be hit without haki, that means everyone outside the One Piece universe like Goku, Superman or anyone more powerful than One Piece verse must have haku otherwise they can't hit a logia". Despite that faulty statement, there are quite a number of Logia users being hit without haki like Crocodile, Enel, Ace and Monet. Hope that explains to you something.

I have an alternative explanation that has basically the same conclusion as you had, but I find it making more sense: Imagine it being like water vs fire, if anti magic (water) is poured on a fire (magic), the fire is "erased", but if the fire keeps burning the fire could spread and keep burning the part that was extinguished. (Patry's sword regens at a faster rate than it is erased). So when you get rid of all the flames, the fire stops spreading (user is unable to form any spells their magic is " sealed"). Once the water evaporates though, which is dependant on how much water there was and how much heat comes from the source that tries to relit the fire, it is able to burn again. I personally think this magic regeneration makes more sense because I don't think anti-magic is simply unable to destroy stronger magic, it's spread just isn't fast enough to do it.

In short and the way I understand it is that Anti magic for Asta is like Haki in One Piece it's his willpower. The way how it works is nullifying magic yes, but it's not instinctively. Like what you explained yes Anti magic can nullify magic but if the mana level are Higher than the anti magic with less energy is most likely going to lose. And the way I see it that when Asta is releasing Anti magic within his swords is that he is Super Focused, he is making sure to attack Accurately Precise Strike to his opponents. So the only way to defeat Asta even in devil union is a powerful Surprise attack that surely he will never see it coming even with his KI reading. And COINCIDENTALLY that is exactly how Lucius defeated Asta in there battle!!! HE shown him something truly shocking that caught him off guard.

The only limits anti magic has is the plot. Logically speaking, anything it touches should be absolutely negated. The author decided to nerf it because it wouldn’t be interesting if anything could just be smacked. So a way around it is to suggest that antimagic is ranged. So if he can make it bigger to cover the large size of a spell then it can negate it

I think it’s quite clear that technically yes, anti-magic negates/nullifies any magic. However, like anything, it comes down to volume. Though I don’t believe he has to match the volume necessarily, but the more mana a spell has, the more anti magic he needs. What we have to be clear is just because a spell is better, does not mean it necessarily contains more magic. So just because someone comes with a spell that seems really strong, doesn’t mean it’s a more mana dense spell. It could just have a really good effect. Meaning he could straight up nullify really powerful spells as long as they aren’t mana dense. But if a supreme devil touches touches his anti magic it’s not as if they aren’t being effected by the anti magic, it’s just they have so much mana that the amount being drained is insignificant. So yes, it has limits, but the limit is due to volume. But it’s not like the anti magic changes like how they have different kinds of mana.

TL;DR i think that anti magic works more like an over time effect, the stronger it is the better the single hits with it is but even at weaker levels it is still effecting magic just at a slower rate. i feel like that butter statement is actually what anti-magic is like just on a larger scale, it will still negate magic if its higher level it either takes longer or if you heat up the pan/increase the amount of anti magic, then it works faster or more efficiently, but also with that its not like its always just hitting the main part of the pan, it would be more like the edge of the blade is the face of the pan while the other parts are more like the edge of the pan, its still hot but its point that gets rid of magic the best

The only time anti magic is limited is when the opponent is physically stronger than asta and thus the case against lucifero since he was physically stronger than asta, also Lucius also confirms this when he realized his magic wouldn't be of that much use he used physical and mental power against asta.

Asta anti magic is based on his own strength and will .. he built himself up to literally be able to react and properly use his anti magic swords… asta literally has shown the ability to channel his anti magic .. although it was with his sword .. and the more anti magic he uses it cancels out any and all magic attacks .. so asta can literally control his anti magic usage … if im not mistaken he learn to extend his devil union to 10 mins by concentrating his anti magic to a certain point.. asta anti magic usage has alot to do with his own physical strength . When he’s weak his magic gets weaker .. honestly asta and liebe are 2 souls in one but what if asta original magic was a form of dark magic .. but asta magic was separated from him and was put into liebe giving him magic to survive in the underworld which evolved into anti magic . Which would mean anti magic is originally astas . Either that or lucita got pregnant by a devil and literally gave birth to asta .. him being a half breed half human half devil … and they somehow split asta from his devil power which created liebe .. which is why its 2 different souls in one body but technically its really just one soul and 1 body asta merging with his own power!

The anti magic asta used before having union is said to be inferior. Liebe calls out that he never truly used before the deal. The deal was the first time he used that. I think if Asta can learn to use to use all the anti-magic then he can pretty much negate all magic. So the reason he couldn't negate that giant devil's magical ball not because of quantity of anti-magic but quality. There is a clear difference between taking the power from sword and from the direct source, former is inferior. Because of the reasons above... I do believe Anti-magic can pretty much erase all magic. It's just not something Asta can do currently.

What I’m curious about. Let’s say an average person has a magic score of 1. Does 1 ant magic cancel out 1 magic? Would 56 anti magic struggle a lot on something like 100 magic. Is is it like 1 anti magic counters 500 magic? I’m wondering how much more potent anti magic is compared to magic.

While i completely agree with the video, who knows what Tabata is planning. Royal Knights arc base Asta was unable to negate Julius' Chronostasis, but now, base Asta is able to turn into a full black Asta and negate it? I can get it if they were already in a form, but you'd think Asta and Liebe cant transform or increase the flow of anti magic after already being frozen in time. And yes, I'm aware Lucius claims anti magic defies reason, but we've known that since magic stages were introduced, so him breaking free of Lucius seems inconsistent to me

@@user-ft3ry1yh1k well his arm is literally anti magic coated so that there can be a reason as well … also him and asta literally going 50\50 on their contract .. should also be a big reason as too why he should be able to atleast use anti magic without using his swords or going into devil union remember .. the devils could possess the host as well …so liebe could call upon the swords for asta .. this also was shown when liebe kept trying to take over astas body and asking him to give up an asta refused and instead called forth the devils power and went into his black form .. etc so i would think from all those facts since they have a equal contract liebe has the ability to do this for asta .. an it would only make sense !

Moreover, they only get truly strong through black form or union: Liebe himself was only comparable to base Asta at best, meaning Black Asta is stronger than Liebe, at least physically. It would be irrelevant even if Liebe called the anti magic forth. And even when we consider the arm, you'd think then the time freeze shouldn't have worked in the first place, nor Lucifero's gravity at the end of the fight in spade. Lastly, a 50/50 contract means they see each other as equals and Asta cant forcibly use Liebe's power the way Nacht does with his devils, otherwise they wouldn't even need to synchronize to use Union.

It’s similar to how naruto could get injured but kurama from the inside couldnt . In many ways, anti-magic works the same as magic. It isn’t the power to negate all magic, but rather it is a negative form of magic. When 2 magic user clash, the stronger magic overpowers the other, but with anti-magic, it is erased and he would win with more ease like with a type advantage. One can create nearly anything and the other destroy it. As demonstrated, Asta doesn’t have to be stronger than his opponent to negate an ability, but at least relative to some degree to reflect it or negate some of it. When he’s overwhelmed, his anti-magic will just not give any effect except his own strength that increases. One application where anti-magic could be useful is if a certain knowledge was required to break a spell, Asta could potentially just erase the spell as long as he’s relative, on par or superior to the caster.
