I have loved her music since her first album came out when I was in high school! My mom played Barry White when I was a toddler, and I have always loved his music as well!

The first white woman to reach number one in the US? Yeah and this is with Teena Marie still relevant. "All Around The World" was a right cross to the American R & B crowd. LOL, we all thought she was black. But then, she hit the black women with "All Woman"? The black women. She hit a spot in the sistas. A white woman. That says alot. She found something. Don't know how she did it, but she and her hubby found something in the studio and it resonated. The thing about what she did with both those songs, IMO, is Marvin Gaye. We here in the US love us some Aretha, Whitney, Patti Labelle, Chaka, and other big voices, women who can "sang". But if you listen to Lisa, especially on "Real Love", she was very Marvin Gaye by just letting it roll out. There's a point on the last cut of that album, "I Will Be Waiting" where it sounds like she just found a groove. I don't know the order of how the songs where acutally recorded, but the way she kept buidling momentum to the end, IMO, was impressive the first time I heard it I love me song Lisa Stansfield. She found a groove and rode it to legendary status.

Oh oh oh, just a little remark, if you may: Off the Lisa Stansfield (1997) album there was another single 'Don't Cry For Me' which was accompanied with a video 🎥 ✌🏼👍🏼
