Even before the film came out, they should've made her hair more red since Ariel is the only red headed Disney princess. I also thought that it was gonna take place in Denmark where the story normally takes place; but it was some fictional Caribbean kingdom. Either way of the place, it was a great film.

@@_argh.1 Proper editing of lighting should also be done in the right way, that's how CGI works, plus oversaturated colors look ugly in cinema, especially in 3d it will hurt your eyes, so if you want bright colors just watch the movie in IMAX or DOLBY and stop criticizing the movie by watching it in your 5.5inches device

Love it, it should be vibrant like this and the red in her hair was almost perfect. The bubbles might not be realistic but it helps to point out that bubbles would have given a more better feeling that they are underwater rather than floating. The great mistake of this movie is that it got into a realistic and gritty approach rather than a magical, fantastic and unrealistic one.

In the original her hair doesnt even look red tbh. Its like a light dirty brown that sometimes almost has a strawberry tint. Ariels hair in the animations was BRIGHT red, as is the hair of many actual red heads. They didn't do anyone any favors to accuracy by making her hair such a subtle barely-there red.
