Originally called “The Fairy Village”, the site was actually a roadside attraction and ornamental garden along the very busy trolley line that ran from Waterbury, through Middlebury, and into Quassy Lake Resort from 1908 to 1929.

I was taken to this mysterious village when I was a very young child, talking late 70's and things happened there that are blocked from my memory but I have flashbacks

You are 100% right. The parks little train passed by the village. So this is just a ride.

I have been to Holy Land many times. I went there when it was in its full glory in the 70s. I have also been to this site many times. The stories are blown way out of the reality of what the Little Peoples Village is.

Went there on Halloween night with my friends - god has to be like 1993 or 1994 now... crazy..was creepy that night. I won't forget it. Visited the site a couple more times over the years. Definitely a bizarre set of little houses and the "jail". We used to call it "The Land of the Little People" and "Gnome Village". LOL

It's actually just called the village according to the gas station owner that built it as a tourist trap.

Do you think maybe the faeries relocated when they put up the high voltage power lines? Or maybe they all made the mistake of flying too close when they were trying to figure out what it was...
@pookykay9 жыл бұрын
+badhorseification Possible reason! They love nature and are very sensitive, those high voltage power lines are awful. =(

Rainbow Moon Raven You're so right with this comment! After the first 5 minutes in the village I started to get headaches thank to his constant movements. For sure not connected to any silly legends. Only became dizzy and giddy cause I've tried to focus on these fascinating buildings but he's turning the cam around like crazy all the time. I'd make another video showing this little village clearly and slowly, if I'd have the big luck to live there. (Sadly I'm far away not even in the US but in Austria, Europe). I've also heard that this small village was part of a very beautiful garden with lots of flowers. But it's not mentioned anywhere cause this version of history isn't creepy and mysterious enough.

Maybe the fairies wanted the people to build this village in order for the future generation (which is us) to believe they existed...just an idea.

there's Pigmy Village in New Britain too...a little neighborhood up in the woods right at the foot of Rattlesnake Mountain on the Plainville/New Britain line

Has anyone ever looked at 19th century plot maps? I'm thinking that this was someone's garden and was built in and around beautiful flower beds. Maybe there was a house nearby and this ground wasn't wooded. I think it is very beautiful as it stands now and is not creepy at all!

You should definitely do a video survey of Holy Land. It's very much on par with this location.

Spot on, Dan. I tried to bring out the legends surrounding the place before rendering the final verdict on what it has been shown to be. I have to admit I did not know the reason for the bars. I appreciate the feedback and will include that information when I update the videos and webpage.

There are dozens of little structures in the area but the ones in the video are the most intact. The woods are extremely thick and hide majority of the structures.
