The Jackal species, being wide spread even before the covenant found them, had evolved and adapted to a variety of planets already. The Skirmishers are an extreme example of this, being physically tougher and faster than most other Jackals of which were already agile to begin with.(But with the giant shields it gets severely limited for the front line troopers)

brutes come in 3 forms: halo 2 they are a monkey bonanza dropping everything so that they can ape around before getting put down like harambe. halo 3 they're basically weaker elites, and in halo reach if you pick up a needle rifle they are quite literally cannon fodder, sporting bright purple fireworks as well as setting new fastest moving corpse records

I think they should make a Halo game where you play as a Skirmisher. Make it a stealth/shooter mix with the ability to switch between third and first person view. Most enemies would be physically stronger, forcing you to rely on stealth, speed, parkour, armor abilities and cunning.
