The religion in Nepal has been fascinating and eye-opening - a culture shock for us. Their traditions, beliefs, and culture have given us the most spiritual paths we've ever encountered in our lives. At Hanumandhoka Durbar Square we got an insight into everyday Nepalese whose usual routine consists of heading to the temples and praying every morning before starting their day. We've witnessed Hindu and Buddhist religions intertwine in the most peaceful and interesting ways. Balkrishna Tamang (Who goes by Bal) was our guide this day and he provided us with so much history and knowledge regarding Durbar Square. We thank him for taking his time and we highly recommend his tours which are filled with knowledge and experience!

Pagoda style is not Chinese !! It originated in Kathmandu. A Chinese Emperor was so impressed that he wanted the architect to build similar building in China. The architects name was Ariniko. This style then became popular in China, Japan … and som other Asian countries but originated in Kathmandu valley.
