Battlefiled games never needed a campaign in the first place. Bf1942, 2, 2142 worked fine without campaign. There was smaller singleplyer maps against bots and the story was told throughout the loading screen texts. It creates more mystery and leaves things to your imagination instead of forcing some cliche storyline with cheesy plot twists. In the end its a BATTLEFIELD game. I think DICE work better with over arching settings and ideas - Battlefield 2 and 2142 all had descriptions and reasons for the battles happening, the when and where etc that made the world of the game feel alive. Their actual ability to produce an interesting narrative tied to gameplay and what you encounter in singleplayer however was always pretty rough, except for Bad Company 2 really because it was more B-movie and about the squad themselves. Which is a shame, but their strength is definitely in using these concepts to flesh out multiplayer and their own ideas than make a strong campaign, Battlefield 3,4, 1 and V were all just eh at best, and painfully obnoxious sneaking sections at worst.

It's not a sequel to BF4 Last Stand.. Actually Last Stand was a big preview, for the conclusion of this game/war. Literally Russia's _""Final Stand""_ in this war of 2042-204X, before they launch their emergency nukes and plunge the earth into the ice age, which we fight in 2142. So the timeline follows: _BF4 war of 2020 with China > China collapses into civil war > war of 2042 with Russia > BF4 Final Stand, end of the war > thousands of nukes, nuclear ice age > 2142_ This game/war will start with the T14, and end some years later with the hover tank big boi. Imagine calling yourself a No-Pat instead of a Nomad, kind of rough. Also trust humans to be short sighted enough to let external interests manipulate a group into defeating itself (i.e. If the NoPats worked together they could gain control of both Russia and America, which would be favourable as the chances of the superpowers following through on their promises is higher if your in control).
@decavalerie64843 жыл бұрын
Nomad lifestyle requires a lot of energy - for traveling around you need gas or food for horses and a lot of free at least semi-fertile land to sustain off the grid live. But as I can understand land is limited on the overpopulated earth of 2042 and due to the climate change a lot of places are almost uninhabitable, except few places that controlled by US, Russia and maybe other militarily strong countries that put soviet style wall around it and promise to let you in only in exchange for service. No-pat is really employment status, not nationality

Nomad sounds better, don't get me wrong, but it also comes with it the word's connotation of constantly moving. Of which, these said No-Pats don't necessarily do so. ...Also, the United States military is still very alive and well and just as capable - even more so - in this timeline... So... The idea of the No-Pats "taking over America" is a bit silly. Irish and the rest of his No-Pat *_somehow_* managed to get their hands on an Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. Yes, a powerful piece of equipment. That, realistically, the United States government would not let them have. However... they're just a single destroyer. And they are constantly struggling to get fuel and have food and money. The United States has an entire logistics network alongside a FLEET of destroyers. No-Pats ain't gonna win that fight. Which is good, because they have no desire to fight it.
@matchesburn2 жыл бұрын
@Stealthy Pelican "It makes sense for them being called no-pats because two remaining sovereign nations neglected them" That's wrong twice over: 1.) In the backstory, some countries welcomed them back or allowed them to emigrate, but they gave them the finger and said no. 2.) America and Russia were not the "two remaining sovereign nations." They were merely the most unscathed and somehow Russia was considered a superpower. "At least nomads were generally accepted into society in historical context." Very antithesis of the definition of nomad. Nomads that aren't nomadic and setting down in a society *_are no longer nomads._* This is like saying, "I'm unemployed" while you're working 16 hours a day at a Fortune 500 company and making $5,000,000 a year before taxes. You no longer fit the definition. Also, no, nomads were *_not_* historically welcome. They were nomadic *_because_* they were often discriminated against and forced to keep on the move.

@@shadyyy7490 Yeah, Russia has some major problems. Their economy is extremely weak relative to their size and super power status. Russia's economy is also heavily based on the exporting fossil fuels (like oil and gas) which anyone is trying to replace with renewables. Another interesting point is, that Russia by itself couldn't afford the development of new weapons systems. They rely on exporting weapons for financing. Now that China, India and some middle Eastern countries develop their own weapons, Russia's arms industry will stall. (Btw.: I am German. Russia wouldn't stand a chance against a united and dedicated Europe.)

@Central Based Agency China is undoubtedly a super power and the US's biggest rival. But China faces many serious problems. The KZbinr PolyMatter made a 4-parted series about them. To sum it up: - The infamous 1-child-policy created an imbalanced demographic. Within the next 20 years, China will have too many old people and too little people in the working force to pay for them. - Chinas economy is fragile. China created an enormous real-estate-bubble. Their growth was financed with loans. - China has problems with its fresh water supply. That could potentially lead to food shortages and migration. - China is running out of allies. All their neighbors hate them: South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Philippines, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgystan, Kazakhstan (because of the Uighurs) and even Russia doesn't like China. China might conduct its checkbook diplomany worldwide, but that doesn't mean that they are creating close ties with other nations. The Europeans don't like them either. Some more problems are: - China's economic growth is based on cheap labor. Once automation erases jobs for unskilled workers, they will see mass unemployment. - They are known for stealing and copying technology. Once they become a technology leader themselves, their growth would stall, since they wouldn't have anyone left to copy. - China is the most populated country in the world. Their demand in energy, food and water is huge but most of their land is unusable. The north and west is too dry. The south-west is mountainous. As of now, they are very reliant on imports of all kinds of goods.

c'mon duude, don't you wanna play as *_gender fluid - nationless - borderless - sjw - refugee - badass - hollywood movie hero??_* Are you not inspired to fight in some inconsequential distant proxy war, without even the basic national identify or patriotic pride to motivate you to fight?? But you're at least excited to buy -Warzone Operator Bundles- *specialist packs™* yes? Jokes aside, EA really dropped the ball on this one sadly. They literally could have made BF3 remastered and I would have immediately pre ordered. I was actually hoping they'd copy that ambitious World War 3 game, and do it better - chaotic ww3 of annihilation, levels of destruction previously unthinkable. Instead we get more _"unseen locations"_ like BFV, more cheesy Elite characters like BFV {but we have only the option of elite characters, with pay to win abilities no less}, and almost as much progressive political pandering as BFV
Refugees fighting for superpowers? Pretty interesting (and dark) concept

@PotatoMaGobinus3 жыл бұрын
How did titan mode play?
@Dyx_DeTcTBa3 жыл бұрын
@@PotatoMaGobinus First half of the march it is mostly identical to Conquest with addition of huge Titan class vessel and automated rocket silos instead of flags. Every silo under team control automatically launches missiles into the enemy Titan every few minutes. Titan, this levitating ship - is a mix of carrier and battleship. It can be moved by Commander to every part of the map: far away to the corners or on the top of the uncapable base - to make easy to defend it, or to the frontline - to provide heavy fire support and fast reinforcement on the silos. Titans are unaccessible to the enemy team while their force shields is active, but after few dozens of rocket hits (only from silos, IRC) - shields are down and the second stage starts, that is more like objective based gamemodes (Rush etc). Now enemy infantry can airborne by different ways and entries inside the Titan with the target to destroy at first - 4 consoles, and after all 4 falls - to destroy the Power Core. Wins the team, that destroys enemy Titan first. But this not the end - even if enemy team will organise an excellent unreachable defence inside the Titan - they still can lose, as the captured missile silos under control will continue to damage the hull of Titan after the shileds went down. So team must perform smart split of the force between defence of the own Titan, assault on the enemy one AND controlling the ground and rocket silos. Damn this gamemode was fun and genuinely designed!
@lilquentint24473 жыл бұрын
@@PotatoMaGobinus so, as you may know, bf 2142 is set in the future... obviously 😅 There were walkers/titans (pretty similar to those in the titanfall games), other futuristic vehicles and two Motherships. There were also multiple capture points on the floor, just like in normal Bf games but with a twist. They were some sort of rocket silos. The goal was to capture them, hold them and destroy the shield of the Mothership with the previously mentioned rockets. Remember, both teams had a morhership, which means that both teams had the same mission. And this, my friend... was phase 1 After that, you had to make your way inside the enemy mothership and destroy its core with some explosives and then escape with your team. This mode was basically the Death Star mission in a futuristic battlefield setting. It was incredibly fun and you had a lot of action going on, pretty much all the time.

BF4 was a indirect sequel to BF3. Both games take place in the same universe and the lore sorta connects (The War of 2014 resulted in tensions up until the War of 2020 between U.S. and Russia and China) wheras the KGB Agent returns in the prison mission. The final dlc also hinted the start of the Pan Asian Coalition (the enemy faction in 2142). So 2042 most likely is connected to the other games.
