It should be noted that Miquella has genuinely good intentions that are also a be askew, as he wants a world where all good and bad can coexist equally, where good and evil can Obviously this is a bad idea as it means truly horrible people can live freely in Miquella's ideal world without any consequences. Ontop of that, Miquella has a blessing/curse that causes people to feverishly want to worship and appraise him. This has become the case tenfold for Mohg, who unironically wants to give Miquella the blessing of the Formless Mother and make him his consort, despite the fact that Miquella is clearly comatose(if not straight up dead.)
@movespammerguyteam7colors6 ай бұрын
I understand why players and other characters are nervous when talking about Miquella. His alter ego can, as they call it in D&D, “Dream Stride” traveling through and into people’s dreams. Though I will admit that Miquella and Ranni have and can use underhanded methods to get what they want. Ranni somehow recruited the Black Knife Assassins that originally only answered to Marika and Miquella created the Bewitching Branch which can hypnotize possibly anyone.
@Elden_Lean6 ай бұрын
Vaati believes that Marika had something to do with the Black Knives, seeing as how they are Numen, just as she is. Which also leads into theories about Marika wanting you to destroy the Erdtree, which then leads into a theory about Melina not actually being Marika's daughter, but potentially Marika herself... It's a deep hole.

"Recruited" is a strong word. She armed them, certainly; but their leader is imprisoned in an evergaol on the Moonlight Altar, and the close companions she loves are attacked by them with murderous intent.
@plipplop7286 ай бұрын
Discussing about the relationship between Ranni and the Black Knives is like threading a foggy dark path, it's confusing as hell, with so little clues to follow. I think this one piece of lore is the biggest question mark in the entire Elden Ring lore.

@@Mare_ManWhat confuses me about the black knife corpses around both Iji and Blaidd is that Iji is covered in Black Flame and it hasn't been "corrected" to destined death. So it couldn't have been them that killed him, and Blaidd is akin to a rabid but loyal dog to Ranni as in he attacks anything he sees as a threat to her regardless of who they are. It just makes no sense to me

I personally have a feeling that Miquella isn't aiming for godhood. But rather he is aiming to become a outer god or even a outer god to rival the Greater Will. Because he knows that normal godhood would just mean he becomes the tool of an outer god. (whether it's the Greater Will or one of the other outer gods) which would also line up with his whole journey we have discovered through lore text. From him trying to find a cure for his sister through the golden order to unalloyed gold. my other theory is he probably figured out that the only way to out influence an outer god is to either become something equivalent or greater.

according to Miyazaki and his team, Martin wrote the entire history and lore of Elden Ring. He even named it “The Lands Between.” When you take into consideration that Miyazaki claimed to have only written the Player’s Story, a lot of Elden Ring makes much more sense from a Westoros perspective. But to be clear 1:16:51 Martin did not write Miquella to be Griffith

There's nobody who read Berserk and knows the lore of Elden Ring who doesn't see how obvious the similarities between him and Griffith are. -The helix world tree Griffith creates, is also the symbol of Miquella. -Both made a city welcoming all, demons and humans, also alike Miquella who is populated by many rejected by the Erdtree, like the misbegotten. -Both have androgynous appearances. -Both have 2 hidden identities. -Both incredibly charismatic. -The Band of the Hawk flag called "Winged Sword Insignia" by Rickert, which is also the literal name of the talisman of Malenia. -The eclipse Miquella wanted to call at Castle Sol, also alike the one Griffith called. -Both tragically disfigured, one reborn as a God, out of an egg. The other on it's way to do the same.
@plipplop7286 ай бұрын
Exactly, thank you! lol. That is why I have my doubts for Miquella since the very beginning. Shadow of the Erdtree trailer was also confirms at least the part where Miquella is not all benevolent, "He wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men.. there's nothing more terrifying". It's getting harder and harder NOT to see Griffith in him.

Besides the obvious, the things I wish to have in the DLC is more beast & crucible incantations. So seeing we get the crucible's wings incantation got be so pumped,. Almost as much as knowing the DLC is going to flesh out Miquella's story, which I can imagine is something almost everyone wanted. Also, this is a bit of speculation and more of fun theory I have IMO, but I believe Mohg's great rune explains a little bit what the "formless" mother is. It's the only rune that doesn't make a complete circle with one of it's defining features being the small vertical line in the center. When you overlay every other great rune together this line makes up the center of the vertical line. So to extrapolate on that further, I think the formless mother is the "soul" or union/intersection of the venn diagram that are the outer god(s). Which it can explain the other title the formless mother has, the "Mother of Truth", since it's the very core of this true being that is the "real" outer god's self. Of course this theory is off the bases that the outer god(s) are one and the same.

Cool to note that Miquella's corpse inside the egg actually uses the exact same model as Morgott's after his fight (minus the hair), obviously making sense since Mohg's blood clearly imparts Omen features, and since ALL the blood is going to Miquella, it's no surprise that his entire body was affected, rather than just growing some horns. Which backs up the idea of him needing to "divest himself of grace" in order to reach the Land of Shadow, by means of becoming a "Graceless Omen".

I heard somewhere that the land of shadows, a name of the place we will go in the DLC was a kind of place where people would go after dying, a kind of afterlife before Queen Marika and Erdtree made everyone to be able to reborn instead. To me it looks like Mohg is trying to use Miquella to claim the land of shadows for himself and then turn it into the new order’s version of hell for everyone to suffer and then rule it as some sort of evil overlord. I mean just look at him he is a textbook image of Satan...and who knows maybe Miquella is trying to make a new order’s version of heaven and then rule it as a benevolent God.
@ghostface4906 ай бұрын
I have a running theory that since Mohg was half-blind thus giving him the ability to glimpse an outer god (the formless mother), it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that maybe Messmer (from the shadow of the erdtree DLC) also had glimpsed an outer god because he is also half-blind. Maybe Messmer got to see and somehow contact the Primordial Crucible itself.

After thinking about the lore for so long i think i can safely say that all of the bad stuff in the lore is almost exclusively Marika's fault. It also makes me wonder if Ranni and Miquella are playing some sort of 4D chess with each other since they clearly know each other. I wonder if Miqella knows if ranni killed Godwyn and if Ranni knows that miqella want to try and bring godwyn back and impose his own abundance onto the world instead of ranni's journey.

As cruel as Marika is, I don't think you can blame everything on her. I can think of many evil things in the lore that have nothing to do with Marika.

@@pokimanefartcompilation (i am so sorry for the novel i just posted... and the silliness lol) that`s why i said almost cause yeah Rykard (TOGETHAA!) do be blaspheming everywhere and did do a LOT of bad stuff. Ranni for sure is not innocent even before her little game of twister with her Black Knife Buddies ft Godwyn cause she schemed with Rykard. the Godskins aren`t exactly the... best people on account of the whole... ya know SKINNING PEOPLE AND WEARING THEM lol. and i guess you can count Mohg as outside Marika`s influence due to his new found lovecraftian mommy obsession. But i still think Marika has done the most evil things out of all the above mentioned (yes including Mr. Mohg "BB" Lester) just due to the sheer scale and quantity of her bad doings. i mean commiting genocide on an already struggling and fallen race of people only to make the last one suffer for all eternity surrounded by the corpses of his people is already villain tier. then her brutal punishing of the misbegotten and omens just for existing is just another villain tier move, then forcing Radagon to abandon Rannala (or just tricking Rannala with illusions still not sure) was another horrible thing all be it not as wide scale and then she quite literally causes the shattering war leading to more brutality and avoidable conflict. all those horrible things for what? Power and some kind of Narcissistic viewpoint that everything she has and does is perfect forever regardless of what it is? i can`t think of another character in the game/lore who is anywhere close to that level of evil but like i said i get your point cause you are right. she isnt the only evil one in the lore but to me at least she is the most evil.
@pokimanefartcompilation6 ай бұрын
@@thememeilator2633 Tbh the only part of her I would consider evil is her discrimination of the crucible. But everything else she did makes sense when you think about it logically. I mean considering that the Golden Order were literally at war with the Fire Giants, I think the cruelty is appropriate. Same goes for any other faction that the Golden Order waged war with. Not saying the killing is justified ofcourse, but casualties are just a part of war and it affects both sides. In other words, you can't really blame someone for doing whatever they can to protect their nation, even if it means committing genocide. It's still evil ofcourse but it definitely makes sense why she would resort to such extreme measures. Also I don't think Marika shattering the Elden Ring was necessarily a bad thing either. The Golden Order was clearly a corrupt nation that trampled other cultures to further their own, so I think Marika breaking it's core foundation would've allowed an opportunity for the demigods aswell as other factions to rise up and claim power.
@plipplop7286 ай бұрын
@@thememeilator2633 I don't think Marika is evil, but I do agree that a lot these fuckery happened because of her. She is like the first piece to this falling dominoes. From Melina's monologue throughout Marika's churches, Marika began doubting her Order and The Greater Will, and she believes that things should be broken first in order to understand it further, so from her perspective, breaking apart the Golden Order and the Elden Ring were justified, and doesn't mean ill intentions. But ofcourse The Greater Will didn't see it that way and immediately punished and imprisoned her.
@thememeilator26336 ай бұрын
@@plipplop728 (again sorry for the long reply lol) tbh her punishment was rightfully done. the fact that her mentality was "i need to break the world to understand how the world works" is borderline delusional. that means that she isn`t above destroying other peoples lives for her own gain even if that gain is just curious knowing. now doubting the greater will makes sense cause... well its a cryptic formless entity that just wants reality to be a certain way... just because? i guess? eh its impossible to know but i will give Marika a pass there. HOWEVER no amount of self-justification and inner doubting can excuse the actions and atrocities she has committed and allowed to happen per her command, she may see herself as in the right but that doesn`t mean she`s objectively right for that matter. and is definitely not Innocent.

I wanna know more about Godfrey. We know of some of his battles, and a little of his nature, but we really dont know much about him as a person, and what other events he plays a part in, aside from inspiring many warriors, most notably Radahn. I hope the DLC will elaborate some more on his history, and maybe we will get to know how exactly it is that he met Marika. Also, I haven't heard anyone speculate that the voice of Mohg as he laments over Miquella is much higher pitched and whispy than his voice when he adresses you, the player. This has led me to believe that his first two lines of dialogue is in fact the Formless Mother speaking through his body, much like how Bernahl adresses The Greater Will through you before he leaves the manor. This seems like a much more viable explanation, rather than tagging Mohg as just a pedo.
@the_furry_inside_your_walls6396 ай бұрын
I'm pretty sure the whole pedo thing with Mohg was a joke that got out of hand anyways. Miquella is described as being eternally young, but it's never said that he's eternally immature and incapable of thinking like an adult. It's also believed that the voice we hear during Messmer's segment of the DLC's trailer may be Miquella, and it sounds nothing like what a literal child would sound like.
@sinsofthelastdawn89426 ай бұрын
@@the_furry_inside_your_walls639 Makes sense, but when people hear that the big mysterious black man with huge spear kidnaps what is considered by most to be a child and wants to marry said child, without the context of what's actually going on between the three of them, they're most likely gonna take it at face value and think Miquella is actually a kid, and Mohg is actually a pedo, ranking it down from what may have originally been just a joke to actual misinformation of the lore, which makes the lore between Mohg and Miquella feel just that bit out of place because of the widespread misconception. I think it's important to stress this difference, especially since I haven't seen any of the bigger content creators for the lore make vocal note of that detail either, and knowing that the Formless Mother may actually be using Mohgwyn as more of just a name to put forth in place of her own, and that this could have larger implications for all of the Empyrians. She'd just be the most open about this out of any of the Outer Gods so far, perhaps aside from Marika and The Greater Will.
