The Lore of Pale Ore in Hollow Knight

I’m guessing the people who made the statue didn’t realize the smithing potential of Pale Ore, or it was embedded in the rock they used, and overtime the statue eroded and revealed the ore that’s been in there all this time. I’d be very surprised if it formed after the statue was made, but it is a weird ore, so it’s not impossible

I always assumed that the ore on Hallownests Crown didn’t grow there naturally. I just thought it was placed at the foot of the statue as an offering to the Radiance. But it’s cool to think the statue was either built over the ore purposefully, or vice versa

Pale Ore might be pieces of the Pale King's Wyrm form's exoskeleton. As an insectlike being, he would have had a chitinous exterior. After whatever event that originally killed him as a Wyrm, he probably tunneled through the lands that would become Hallownest, leaving behind bits and pieces of himself before settling and dying in Kingdom's edge. His exoskeleton then further wore away, and explorers would find his body and take pieces with them. The King himself also probably would have had pieces of his old body harvested for materials to make weapons for his knights and armor for his Moulds since it would have been the best source for Pale Ore.

there is a theory in reddit that the pale ore is soul or soul infuse stone. evidence by how the pure vessel use souls to create its daggers attack that so happened to look like the knight's nail.

It may represent the pale king, and his beacon expansion throughout hallownest. The pale ore resembles a horn/fang, similar to those surrounding the white palace. And the cast-off shell. They seem to form from the wyrms presence. Including the pale ore possibly. Representing the pale king's expansion.

This could be supported via the pure nail description. In which it describes the nail as revealing its true form. The king's beacon is also described to do just that. With this king's pass lore tablet to support: "Higher beings, these words are for you alone. Within our lands do not hide your true form. Let all bask in your majesty, for only this kingdom could produce ones such as you." Both the pale ore and the kingdom are said to reveal the true form of an object. Either a nail or bug. Supporting the idea of the pale ore representing the expansion/presence of the king.

It's possible that the Seer knew how to use the Pale Ore, but didn't have any need or desire to use it. After all, the moth tribe are pacifists for the most part.
