The Boardwalk still has the summer concert series every year from June - August. They now use a temporary bandstand. The one in the film was a casualty of the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

The comic book shop relocated in downtown. They still have the original Vampire comic in the shop on the wall signed by all the cast.

The comic book store was actually a comic book store on Pacific Avenue, a block or two south from the end of the Pacific Garden Mall. I remember it well, especially the Star Trek pinball machine which you can clearly hear in the movie! It too was lost to Loma Preita.

Thank you sooo much. I'm a Canadian who's never been to Cali and for my birthday this year I plan to visit the Boardwalk and other locations from the movie. It is by far my all-time favourite movie. It's great to see others who have as much love for the film. This was so very informative and helpful. Thanks so much! One question, I see this was posted Jan 2017, but when was it filmed? I thought they tore down the lodge...if not, it'd be great to add to the itinerary.

The 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake was a major blow for Santa Cruz, as well as the Bandstand the Plunge was also lost in the earthquake, nice to see this place going strong 🙂

Thank you soooo much for this video!!!...... The Lost boys its my all time fave film from when i was a kid and still is!!!.. I'm 41 now and I still have the cassette soundtrack to the film i remember finding it in HMV in a city Manchester UK near me when i was 13 or so... I had skipped high school and went out for the day with my bro as he was visiting me took me on a day out and after he moved away I didn't know they even did a soundtrack back in 1989 ish I felt like i'd found treasure!! I was so happy:O) !! I've been waiting for a new video LB locations on here. Maybe one day if I'm lucky and win the lottery lol i would absolutely love to visit the USA as I've wanted too since i was very young especially LA!!! See it for myself! one correction to mention is you had the wrong location for the video store, it was not on the Boardwalk. The actual location used during the filming sits out on the Santa Cruz Wharf right next to the Boardwalk area, Cool video though and thanks for posting it!

I didn't know so many people loved this movie as much as I did. The Lost Boys is probably my favorite movie of all time, though there are a few other movies I also love almost as much, such as Beetlejuice and Avatar. If I had to be stuck on a desert island and I could only have one movie to watch til the end of time, I'd probably pick the Lost Boys because it's not only a great movie that I'm willing to watch over and over, but it also had some great music.

This was really friggin' cool to watch. The Lost Boys has always been my favourite movie ever since I watched for the very first time when I was maybe 9 years old. I'm now 33! I'm British and will probably never get the chance to visit these places myself, but these are the next best thing 👍

Bro last time I went to Santa Cruz I went to grandpas house! It was so awesome. My wife and kids hiked up that ridiculous hill with me and we found it. Did you see that desk in the woods behind it? Also, I pissed under the lemon tree.

Not only wrong parking lot, wrong video store location, and grandpa didnt die on the stairs............but the real bridge is in southern California not central. It's on the east side of I-5 right across the freeway from Magic Mountain. (You can actually Google it) Loved seeing the footage though, grew up there 1973-1991 and it brought back great memories

Gps 300 golf club drive Santa Cruz .ca go to dead end there is small place t9 park it is a short walk on paved road that is gated keep walking up Road about 10 to 15 minutes

This is fantastic! I'd love to visit the Boardwalk. I'm meeting the cast at For the Love of Horror in October. It's the biggest cast reunion since the film. Kiefer (David), Jason (Michael) Alex (Marko) Billy (Dwayne) Jamison (Alan Frog) Chance (Laddie) Tim Cappello (I Still Believe singer) G Tom Mac (Cry Little Cry singer). So excited! 😁

the video shop was out on the wharf and grandpas shed was out the front where you first walked up not around the corner near the pool... and also none of the shots where filmed inside the cottage they were all done in a studio only scenes from out side where filmed there....

The parking you show is not correct, the one that appears in the movie is the parking lot next to the river, which has some palm trees around, the video store is not correct either, and same with the comic shop, your video will be quite confusing for those who don't know the locations, but i love the grandpa house´s part

The race was ludicrous if you know Santa Cruz geography. The beach and the forest are miles from each other, and the forest does not lead to the cliffs. The cliffs seem more Malibu than Santa Cruz. I still love the movie, though.

JEM TV. Me too! That cave is actually down near Santa Barbara which is about 200 miles south of Santa Cruz where they filmed the rest of the movie. Unfortunately I have never seen that location yet.

It's the second best in my opinion. The best is the original 'Salem's Lot from 1979. Still gives me chills to this day. Especially the Marston House.
