THE LOST CAMERAS - Unboxing Digital Camera Garage Sale Finds!

Several years ago, I was frequenting garage sales regularly in hopes of finding digital cameras. I found quite a few, put them in a box in my garage to test later, and then lost the box for 3 years. I just found it again a few days ago, and this video is all about testing the cameras, and figuring out what value they currently have on sites like eBay. Join me in this journey as we go through 20 different digital cameras that I purchased for between $3-50 each. Garage sales can be a great way to find cameras and other electronics for pretty affordable prices.

For memory stick pro duo and XD card you can find SD cards adapters, which makes things easier while transferring data.

Yep the long barrel dual memory card camera (Smart media and Flash memory) Funny how back then 2.5 megapixels was the top end for digicams. @@pricklypearcamera

I like the old A series of Canon cameras, especially the ones that take AA batteries... fact is I like most cameras that take standard AA batteries. Never have to worry about proprietary batteries or lost chargers. The only thing is remember to remove batteries if camera is not used for a long time.

Hi! I just into wildlife/ outdoor photography. I found a canon rebel xs digital camera at a local pawn shop and just used it today for the first time... So far I love it... Works awesome for being made in 2008 and works great for me being brand new to photography and having no clue about it... Came acrossed your videos while researching different canon lenses videos.... I have an old Olympus FE110. It sat unused for many years as the phone camera was more convenient and a bit better at 10mpixels compared to 5 of the olympus. Recently I put some batteries inside and powered it. It took about a week for all the functions to recover. Software would crash, buttons worked randomly, the zoom in function made it shut down. The pictures it made were all cold and fuzzy, like too much ISO was used. It took about three sets of batteries for the picture quality to recover and the colours to warm up. It is interesting how long time storage affects even digital cameras.

Wow that is crazy! I have definitely seen similar things in really old circa 2002-2005 cameras in regards to warming up, but not quite that drastic!

Most digital cameras, in my rather limited experience, have a button battery that saves clock and other settings. Do you ever check and replace those?

Quite a few of certain brands older point and shoot digital cams did have a separate coin battery, but the majority of what I sell currently doesn’t. I do sometimes check, but often will leave it to the buyer to replace if they so choose as it doesn’t affect actual picture taking.

Speaking of "lost" cameras I have a Konica Minolta DiMAGE G400 that's been in USPS transit for about 2 weeks, and just today it delivered to the wrong address - just wonderful! I was stoked to get it but seems like I'll have to wait for a refund, and pick the next cheapest G400 (which is twice as much as I paid for my misdelivered one).

Oh no! Sounds like yours may be lost for good, but hopefully it get's refused or sent back and you end up getting it! Bummer to. hear. That's a neat little camera, CCD sensor right?

@@pricklypearcamera Yep, 4MP 1/2.5" CCD. I was looking at the pictures this thing took (on pbase) and I noticed all of them have a warm yellow cast to them, which I don't find very desirable IMO. I was also looking at a Minolta Dimage F100, (which seems to have really nice colors), but that camera is painfully slow to operate and a good chunk of the camera is coated with rubber that seems like it'll turn to goo. So I'm still hunting for a nice, capable, small but quirky camera.
