Rex and Pyra have significantly more complicated designs than the Ice Climbers. Plus, Rex would be using Mythra as well. So it would be a more complicated Ice Climbers, and it would also be a swap character. Not mention Pyra wouldn't just follow Rex around mimicing his attacks. Odds are Rex would be the one doing the normal and smash attacks. His standard jab combo would be his auto attack, double spinning edge his forward smash, rolling smash his up smash, anchor shot his graband sword bash his down smash. I could see the down and forward smash switched in this potential moveset. And that's just the normal attacks. To be accurate to the source game, Rex would then have to pass his weapon to Pyra or Mythra to do the specials.

It’s pretty interesting how most of the fighters mentioned were ultimately not chosen because the team preferred someone else from their respective games, with the exceptions of Rex who couldn’t get in with the blade-driver mechanic due of technical limitations, and Slime who was the backup for a Dragon Quest rep if Hero wasn’t approved. And all of these fighters were alternatives for representing certain games and series. It makes me believe that we’ll get these characters in the future if the team is willing to add another fighter from their games

Before anyone questions the duo of Rex and Pyra, the only reason characters like these wouldn’t work is because the Switch would have 2 stupidly detailed anime characters moving in unison also being separated partially like nana, thus requiring a second AI Joker and Arsen are connected to each other and don’t require a second AI to control a second character since they will act at the same time Nana and Popo work because their character models are absurdly simple in comparison and the models aren’t super demanding Pokémon Trainer works because there is only a single Pokémon on screen at a time, they don’t all have to be in the same screen all at once

No. We would’ve gotten one or the other. Not both. This has been stated numerous times that clone characters takes less time to make. They are an extra. Rictor not being here would NOT allow Alucard to be playable as he would have a different moveset and therefore be a different full character to make which would take more time vs a clone. Its really that simple.

We could've gotten Richter and Alucard, or Simon and Alucard. But we got Richter and Simon, which could've been Simon, Richter and Alucard as playable characters. That could've made Simon/Richter's Echo Fighter Position be ignored by adding Alucard, but we're just stuck with two different character but no actual gameplay difference. 😊

For me i was really hoping for Rillaboom to join smash ultimate dlc just like Piranha Planet, Byleth, Min Min, and Pyra/Mythra to make up for the fully evolved grass starter Pokemon with Decidueye. Sadly he Didn't make it in dlc and fighter pass vol 3 didn't get made, if it was real than Rillaboom would've easily made it in smash ultimate. Now our finally hope is that Meoscarada the grass starter of gen 9 or possibly fully evolved grass starter Pokemon of gen 10 will join next smash game/possibly smash ultimate deluxe port as by the time the it arrives, gen 10 will be the current generation for the franchise of Pokemon and its 30th anniversary arriving too.

Whilst incineroar makes sense and was a great choice, I have to say Decidueye is up there as one of my favourite pokemon, and he would have been awesome in Smash. He could have so many moves oppsones like firing arrows, leaf storm or hurricane for good range attack. He could use phantom force to teleport/ attack an enemy, similar to greninga, to close the distance. Plus, being able to fly and having melee moves like Leaf Blade, sucker punch, or Brave Bird could make him a great all-rounder character.

Plenty of fist fighters but bows aren't exactly the most common weapon in Smash Bros, especially not as a sole primary weapon. I'm pretty sure Pit is the only one whose sole primary weapon is a bow and even then he mostly uses it as a pair of blades rather than as a bow. Who does he think he is, Shirou EMIYA?

Theres a pretty common theory/assumption among players in my area that byleth might have been built on a template that was originally made for a monster hunter rep. The bulky moveset and variety of large weapons feels very similar to what you would imagine a monster hunter to play like. It's been said that capcom prefers that the actual monsters are used instead of player characters so it's probably why we got a ratholos boss but no fighter

I think Yoshimitsu would have been cool because he's a really awesome character and on top of that he would represent both Tekken and Soul Calibur. I think it makes a lot more sense to choose the Belmonts especially Simon considering he was the protagonist at the beginning of the franchise and has come back as the protagonist in remakes and sequels and stuff, but also the Belmonts are original characters by Konami whereas Dracula and Alucard Yes they are a big part of Castlevania absolutely, but they weren't created by Konami at all as they had been around for decades or maybe even a century prior to Castlevania being made. At least they still made Dracula a boss and Alucard an assist trophy though

Dracula should have been playable because he represents more of the franchise than the individual Belmonts or Alucard. Plus who wouldn't want to see a taunt where he pulls out a wine glass and goes "What is a man? A miserable pile of secrets!" and then tosses it at the opponent for a tiny amount of damage?
